Met my nephew for brunch in Venice Beach over Fourth of July weekend. So lucky to get the last parking space in front. He wasn't quite as lucky but managed to find a spot just a few blocks away. Little bit disappointed with this one. Ate with some people from the 222 app. Ordered the rigatoni bolognese at the suggestion of the waiter. I'm not sure why he recommended this one. The pasta either was microwaved or wasn't cooked evenly as it was cold around the rim, hot in the middle. The noodle was super cold, and a bit undercooked. Was so not to my liking , I had to make it a little uncomfortable and send it back in front of everyone. I replaced this with the burger and fries . It was way, way better. The espresso martini was more of a mocha and although I specified that it not be sweet it was very sweet ... very delicious but not quite what I hoped for. The service is rarely perfect. Visited Superba on a holiday weekend and it was crowded, but we were able to be seated immediately. The space is HUGE and has both indoor and outdoor tables. I wonder if on weekdays it fills up with people working remotely because the space is so large and there are many tables for 2. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito ($17) and Roasted Turkey Dip ($21). The breakfast burrito was delicious, and the avocado crema and hot sauce sides complimented it perfectly! They were so tasty, we even took the rest home. My friend mentioned it might be one of her favorite breakfast burritos in LA. With the turkey sandwich, I ordered no cheese and substituted the homemade chips for crispy breakfast potatoes. Our waitress was fantastic and had the cheese removed off the potatoes as well for me. The portion of avocado they put on the sandwich was insane (in a good way)! Like a hopeless druggy, I got high on the trio of three kinds of bread, and the following day kept binge-ing on the scone, the muffin and what was the other pastry? I think I had blacked out with delight by then, I swear. The Mary's Chicken was tender and delicious, the veggies so fresh and fragrant, and my husband's steak au poivre was decimated by him in one blow. It looks like this restaurant has 3 locations in the SoCal area. We came here because it was close to where we were staying and we saw some great reviews. We were greeted upon arrival and asked if we had reservations. We did not and were still seated pretty promptly. The restaurant got more crowded closer to 6, but there were plenty of tables when we arrived around 5 pm. Our server Deserae was super kind and welcoming. We ordered an order of assorted breads baked fresh daily and some cheese to come with it. One of the bread rolls actually came with a lot of butter and chives on it and if I knew there would have been that much butter available, I probably would have skipped getting the cheese, which wasn't my favorite since it was on the spicy side. We then ordered a green juice (which was a small serving), an alcohol beverage, and our mains, which were the veggie enchiladas and the chicken schnitzel. The verde sauce on the veggie enchiladas were overpowering and too sour. It was not my favorite thing that we had. The chicken schnitzel was pretty good, and came with a side of beet tahini and mustard with seeds, but it was sort of lacking a carb (it came with a little bit of greens). We also ordered a peach cheesecake mousse that came with some baked sweet graham cracker-like cookie. It was good but definitely not the consistent of cheesecake. They came over to our table to explain that we could donate profits to one of four charities using a token, which is great. They explained that they are not-for-profit company (distinguishing from the fact that owners are not non-profit when we asked specifically). However, this place charges a 3% surcharge on the food, which is removable upon request. So it makes me wonder whether some of the money they donate to charities could also be used to pay their workers better. The food here is on the pricier side. For a couple of drinks, our mains, and a dessert, we spent over $135 after tip. We also had some delicious pastries as well. Service is great but some of their pricing and items could be improved. read more

The sandwich was such a good size that I was able to bring the other half home. I consider myself a bit of a tuna melt expert and this one was really good! Despite the 3 too many drinks I had the night before, the food looked so good my not even my scaries couldn't keep me away from diving in. My first note was that the service was excellent. They went out of their way to seat us exactly where we wanted, and even helped move us when a better table became open. Me next note is that anything that was once a potato being served at this restaurant is delicious. The fried and chips that come with the sandos are to die for.
