OK my favorite thing about this place is the very fun ambience inside.... They do such a good job with all the food related art and items everywhere from the front door to the bathroom. Service is decent but sometimes you can definitely tell they're busy or not really in the mood to deal with customers. The food for me has been hit or miss but that's because of my personal preference. I find the cookies way too sweet but again that's just for me... The pies however are delicious (and I'm very picky with piecrust). The sourdough I had was incredible as well (not sure if It's made on site) but the egg breakfast sandwich for me was just a little off. The onion jam was extremely sweet and I didn't care for the fluffy white bread... plus I wish there had been a bit more balance to it. The coffee is great and I would go back but probably just for pie, coffee or bread.

This is such a great place. I've been buying pies from them for years. And I was so excited when they opened a location on the Westside. This review of obviously long overdue. lol. Anything you order is going to be amazing, but their key lime pie has me in a chokehold. It's definitely a must try. And the service is always superb. Noah helped me out the last two times I was in, and he was super pleasant both times. Highly, highly recommend if you're looking for a sweet treat.

I went here with a friend after grabbing lunch across the street at cafe brasil. The interior was much bigger than it looks like from the outside, with lots of picnic table seatings. They had a variety of options from cookies (~$4 each), pies ($7-9 per slice) and other pastries. They also offer drinks. My friend got a cookie and drink and I got a slice of pie to go. The pie was seasonal (passionfruit tangerine) and was a nice tart but sweet flavor. I wish the crust at the bottom was a bit bigger but otherwise a solid piece of pie. Street parking only, metered parking available on the Main Street and also neighborhood parking available.

12/10/2025 3 1/2 Stars PIES Banana Cream Pie - This was everything a banana cream pie should be! Loved the big chunks of banana. The custard and whipped cream was creamy and delicious. Flaky pie crust. Not overly sweet either. Delicious from beginning to end! If you're craving banana cream pie, this one will hit the spot! Chocolate Chess Pie - As fudgy as it was, it was not a rich chocolate flavor that is expected from a chocolate pie. It is sweet, but the chocolate flavor did not come through. The whipped cream on top was fluffy and creamy. Texture-wise the pie was fuuuudgy. But the chocolate flavor was held back. The chocolate graham cracker crust was slightly salty, which was supposed to enhance the chocolate, but I felt it muted the chocolate flavor. So when you eat everything together, it is a salty chocolate pie. Wanted to love it, but it was a disappointment. Key Lime Pie - Has a nice, tangy, sharp tartness. The graham cracker crust was thin, which brought more attention to the key lime custard and whipped cream on top. This pie delivered. Apple Cream Cheese Crumble - Reheated in the toaster oven. The flavor overall was sweet and light. Not heavy on the spices. It was much lighter in sweetness and spices than most apple pies I've had. The apple had a light tartness and the apples were not soggy, but they were tender yet had a bit of a bite. Apples were all cut up rustic and cut up bigger than expected, but there were a lot of apples in there! The crumble on top was crispy and buttery. However, the pie crust on the bottom was soggy. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. CAPPUCCINO It wasn't horrible, but I always wish specialty shops like this could make a good cup of coffee. The coffee beans were not bitter nor burnt, which I appreciated, but it wasn't smooth. The milk foam on top wasn't bad. Not the best cappuccino I've had, but it wasn't the worst. Somewhere in the middle. POMEGRANATE LAVENDER Housemade soda. Perfect amount of sweetness. You can mainly taste the pomegranate over the lavender. Very small hint of lavender in it. Good carbonated drink. Overall enjoyed it. COOKIES All the cookies were very thin, soft, chewy cookies. The outer edges of the cookie were crunchy. Peanut Butter Cookie - This had a straight forward peanut butter flavor. Yet it was still lighter and less creamier than other peanut butter cookies I've had. The texture is craggly. Not the most pleasant texture. Butterscotch Chocolate Chip Cookie - Lots of butterscotch chocolate chips which coated my whole mouth and it continually tasted sweet. It's a sweet cookie. If it was less sweet, I think I would have enjoyed it a bit more. Lemon Lavender Sugar Cookie - Less lemon flavor, lavender flavor is more prominent in this cookie. I barely remember the lemon flavor. This was a very forgettable cookie except that the lavender brought on a weird flavor that did not complement this cookie. It seems to do the opposite of making a good cookie. Weirdly enough, I liked the texture of the cookie, since it was a sugar cookie. Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie - You get some fall spices from the cookie lingering in the background. The pecan and choc chips add texture, crunch and sweetness. This was also a sweet cookie, but not as sweet as the Butterscotch Chocolate Chip Cookie. Out of all the cookies, Peanut Butter was the better of them all. However, none of them were really good. For $4 each, all four of the cookies purchased were a waste of money. They might as well been supermarket bakery cookies and even then, I've had better from supermarket bakery cookies! I would not recommend their cookies. Sadly, docking off stars because of the cookies and some of the pies. If you don't see a pie flavor that you want in the display case, ask them if they have it. They might have it in the back and have yet to bring them out to the front. AMBIANCE / SEATS / BATHROOM Love the space! The ambiance was bright, cozy and peaceful. It gave neighborhood bakery vibes, yet the decoration was airy, light and whimiscal. A very inviting shop. There were both indoor and outdoor seats. One communal table and bench seats, A few tables of two and a few tables for 4. Outdoor seats were tables for 2. Ate indoors and it was a cozy space and there was minimal noise. Do not know if they have free WiFi, but it's a good space to work there. One unisex bathroom available in the back. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. It wasn't exceptional, but decent. The main person taking my order wasn't the friendliest, smiling person, but she didn't give any attitude. But she simply did her job. PARKING Street parking or neighborhood parking available. But please be mindful of all the parking signs when you do park! Parked at the closest neighborhood parking near Fat+Flour on Atlantic Ave and Washington Blvd. There is street parking directly in front of the shop too.

Was extremely pleased at how many different vegan cookie options there were!!! Ecstatic about lemon and lavender flavor, others were also solid but this was perfection to me. I am also a big fan of the passionfruit and tangerine pie

Our first visit to Fat and Flour, it has been on our list to try. We stopped in the morning to purchase a banana cream pie. Price on the high side. Flavor was good not overly sweet, banana were whole not sliced, crust is on the thick side and no skimping with whip cream topping. Not as decorative as the photos shown. Overall a good selection for a dessert treat for the family. Will try another selection of pies when we are in the a craving. Parking on the street, shop is nice and clean and workers are friendly.

The Key Lime Pie from Fat + Flour, hands down the best pie slice ever. Tart in all the right ways, silky smooth, and perfectly balanced with that buttery, slightly salty crust that makes you close your eyes and reconsider your life choices up to this moment. It's bright, bold, and addictive--I honestly wish I had never tasted it because now nothing else compares. The Strawberries & Cream Pie was no slouch either. Light, luscious filling with real berry flavor and a crust that deserves its own fan club. It's the kind of dessert that would absolutely steal the show--if the key lime hadn't just shown up and completely wrecked the curve. TL;DR: Get both. But brace yourself--the key lime is a religious experience.

Pie! Come for LA's most perfect PIE! Apple Raspberry Rhubarb is a signature. I love the crumble topping, and the crust is just so perfect on every single slice. What could possibly be better? Double Crust Apple pie is the only thing better than apple pie! Banana Cream Pie is more like pudding in crust, and the Chocolate Chess Pie just so dense and so delicious. Every slice is spectacular. Just come early so they don't sell out.

Pie Paradise! That's what Fat + Flour feels like. The Culver City spot is so welcoming--bright, spacious, lovely decor. I brought my friend here to celebrate his birthday with pie and we were not disappointed. Julio was working on the day we came in and he was personable. My friend had a slice of the chocolate chess, I got the key lime, and then we shared a marshmallow brownie!!! Oh, I also got a cold brew for myself. If what you're looking for is an overly sweet/sugary pie (like the kind you pre-packaged at the grocery store) this is not it, and that's okay. The chocolate chess pie was thick in all the right ways. The chocolate filling was smooth, the chocolate flavor is subtle but strong and the crust!!!! Stays together with just a bit of fall out so you can go back and pick up the crumbles with your fork. The key lime made my entire face pucker and my eyes water and I couldn't have been happier! Ive no doubt they only use actual, fresh, lime juice. The crust, OMG! just a hint of salt in it that made the graham taste so god dang delightful. Onto the brownie!!!! I had to push my fork through, that's how thick it is. This is no box mix brownie texture and taste. Just look at the caramelization on that marshmallow! A great experience. My friend and I are already planning on another visit. We drove in from the South Bay and let me say, the traffic on the 405 just makes the journey to Fat+Flour all the more worth it!

The Fat + Flour in DTLA is more convenient for me; I always stop there whenever I go to the Grand Central Market. This was my first visit to the Culver City location, located on Washington Blvd in an area that's both residential and business. It's next to a former laundromat that's being transformed. Street parking is available. This F+F is larger than the DTLA stall. It has indoor seating, plus a couple of outdoor tables and its own restroom. There is an area that sells condiments, snacks and food-centric gifts. Famed owner/baker Nicole Rucker's latest book, titled "Fat + Flour, The Art of a Simple Bake" was released the day before my visit; I had already preordered a copy online. This was just as well, since the shop did not have any signed copies anyway. Nicole was out on a brief book tour. Staffers here and downtown say Culver City carries more pies, while DTLA has more cookies. Culver City still had a decent selection of cookies, plus brownies, scones, etc. And of course pies. I had preordered a sour cherry double crust pie ($56). They also offer a delicious-sounding selection of sandwiches and bagels here. I had read about the egg salad sandwich; the herb omelet sandwich also sounded great but was unavailable. So I ended up with the whole cherry pie, an egg salad sandwich, jamon beurre sandwich and a blueberry scone. The scone was fine, as was the jamon beurre sammy (on a baguette with Gruyere cheese). The egg salad sammy was fab, on milk bread, flecked green with herbs (dill and chives) plus shallots. They apparently use kewpie mayo. I wish they had sammys downtown! And the pie, which I've had before, was very delish, tart/sweet with a great crust. I did my own taste test with a slice of cherry pie I got at Helms Bakery just before coming here, and F+F's version, while less amply filled, was superior in all other ways.

I never leave three star reviews- but i was in the mood for really good unique, cookies- Fat and flour I knew I had to try it, after reading the reviews on YELP. Yesterday's order- two lemon lavender cookies, coconut oatmeal raisin cookie-Lemon lavender lacked the punch of citrus flavor consistent with a lemon cookie- unremarkable at best. I was unable to taste the lavender, but it was visible in the cookie. I thought the cookie would leave a sugary citrusy aftertaste- it didnt!!unfortunately i got there towards the closing of the store and there were no chocolate chip cookies left. The best part was the coconut oatmeal raisin - it was absolutely delicious- reminded me of a 7 layer bar in the form of a cookie.- without the butterscotch, graham crackers and condensed milk. Wished i could have purchased the remaining two in the show case..I hope to give this eatery another try in the future earlier in the day!!

Quaint shop specializing in pies, cookies, and other sweet baked treats. The Culver City location is more full-service than their Grand Central Market location downtown, with lunch offerings, beverages, and a gift shop. All that said, we were there for the pie! My mom and partner both ordered cherry pie; I ordered key lime. My slice was the better of the 2 varieties, but not transcendental. The cherry pie filling was great but the crust needed work: not a problem a bakery specializing in pies should have! The overly thick crust was stiff on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Even as a crust fiend I chose not to eat the crust my partner left behind. I would give them another try, but I'm in no hurry to return.

This is a relatively small bakery. I came here on a recent Thursday morning and they had about 5 or 6 different pies in the case along with some cookies and scones. I tried a slice of the banana cream pie and the filling was outstanding. However, the crust was surprisingly hard and tough - it tasted fine in terms of flavor, but it wasn't flaky at all and was nearly impossible to cut with a fork. This was the first time I've tried their pies, so perhaps that is how they intend their crusts to be. Maybe I caught them on a bad pie day. I'll come back one of these days and give it another try.

It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.

And I know that vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting is pretty easy to make, but sometimes I'd rather just buy baked goods than make them for myself, especially when I'm driving past what I thought was a popular (and presumably good) bake shop. I expected a high-quality cupcake. The cupcakes looked cute, but they were as dry as the Sahara. They should have been labeled as white cupcakes as I didn't detect any vanilla in them. I suspect that the "buttercream" was made with milk and margarine and powdered sugar.....so much powdered sugar. It was sickeningly sweet, and it was dry too. And a true bettercream doesn't even use powdered sugar. So not only were the cupcakes terrible, they were not even what they purported to be. This is like calling a cut of meat a filet mignon and serving a hamburger. Von's, Ralphs and Albertson's make better cupcakes than this for a fraction of othe price.

That alone says a lot about a place. They were running low on several desserts we had our hearts set on, but we knew this before hand. They made things all fresh so if it sells out. It sells out. Instead the lovely people here offered us substitutes and made sure we still had a wonderful experience. We ended up with the crème brûlée (Tahitian vanilla custard with fresh berries and a mint leaf), the affogato (vanilla gelato, house brewed espresso, vanilla whipped cream, served with an espresso macaron), and chocolate gelato! Everything was divine! Love every bit of it! Bottega Louie WeHo is the kind of place that makes a special occasion feel even more special. I also really like talking with the staff here- they're always so sweet and it's also in such a nice area. I haven't tried the DTLA location yet though.

My friend and I finally decided on the pepperoni pizza, the Brussel sprouts, and the Belgian waffle. The pizza was so delicious; it was evidently fresh, made with fresh mozzarella and tomato. The crust was perfectly cooked and crunchy! We were very impressed with the Brussel sprouts. They came mixed with candied walnuts, which was definitely my favorite part about this whole meal. We ate the Belgian waffle last. I thought it would have been too dense or soggy by the end of our meal. It ended up being completely perfect. The only thing I wish was that we had more of that wonderful vanilla whipped cream and fresh seasonal berries. I brought my bff here as a graduation gift. We left with full stomachs and very happy. I loved the decor and elegance of the restaurant. We will return to try the pastries next!!

Brussel Sprouts was perfectly roasted and the walnuts gave it a crunchy texture. Lobster Hash - I was surprised it was a real lobster tail. The dish was very delicious. Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict- the egg was perfectly poached and once you break the runny yolk on the egg muffin it was so yummy. Napoleon cake was very crispy layered with very smooth cream. I also got macarons to go and thought it was reasonable in price 6 pieces for $20 and you get a really pretty box. I really liked the Dubai Chocolate flavor.
