What a delicious surprise! Baked Goods | All shapes, sizes & flavors of Mexican bread and other dessert/pastries! Beautiful and neatly presented as well! Customer Service | Consuelo was super friendly from the moment I walked in! She also told me about several freshly baked goods, as there were so many to choose from! She also helped me decide! After taking a bite of both, I was amazed by the immediate flavor and would easily get dessert here again! I'll eat the rest later, as I had just had lunch! I come to this bakery EVERY single day. Until now. I am loyal to the places I go. I always treat the staff well and I like to support small shops. maybe, they aren't so small though. they turned away my business tonight as if I was unimportant, and they'd didn want or need my business. It says online here that they close at 9:00 pm. I drove all the way from work 50 minutes and arrived here at 8:57. the doors were closed and the owner or some man was standing there next to the pan dulce. counting the cash in the register. I stood at the door waving as he ignored me and then when he could no longer ignore my presence he finally acknowledged me, by shewing me away with a flap of his hand. Maybe they forgot why they opened this place. but it no longer feels like a place from the heart. I live in my car and this was my one comfort to help make my hard cold nights just a litttle easier. now tonight I'll be in the cold rain, with nothing. So never tried this place and wanted to go and try it. I usually go to Northgate store to get my pastries but I thought you know what help a local business service was OK it looked like a bakery, so that was good but the bread the Mexican bread ( pandosea) was dry. Worst bakery I have ever been to! I kept seeing the sign when I was driving home and one day I was really hungry and had time to stop in and try it out. Nothing looked appetizing, but the peanut butter cookie looked like it might hit the spot. I paid $1.50 for it. Luckily it didn't cost much. So I only wasted $1.50 thank god. I took a bite of this cookie and it had a weird taste to it. It had no sugar and didn't taste anything like a cookie. I was really hungry, but this cookie tasted so awful that I threw it away after eating only a couple of bites. When I'm hungry, I will usually eat anything. Even if I don't like how it tastes. Just to satisfy my hunger. Well this cookie was god awful! Not sure what they did to make it taste so bad. I'll never go to this place again. Save your money and go to a decent bakery. My wife (who is from Mexico, not that matters, but will for some here), asked me (Mexican descent) to go get some bread from this place (09/10/17 afternoon). The gentleman behind the counter was uninviting, and cool. And when I got home, the bag was greasy and ALL, I say ALL the bread was STALE. I've bought Mexican bread from other places, and if its fresh, it is still good a DAY after--at the least. We complained and were basically told "oh one counter is old bread, and the other isn't" Huh? And why didn't he TELL me that? And the breads in one counter from the other are totally different! My family has been buying pan dulce here for years. It is cash only but prices are very reasonable. They always have a good variety of traditional pan dulce but don't always have every variety they make every day so be warned they may not have your favorite every time. I especially like their conchas while my wife likes their puercos and my younger son loves their orejas. They bake in the afternoon so late afternoon or early evening are the best times to buy. There is usually parking available in the parking lot of the mini mall they are located in. The bakery is next door to a great Mexican restaurant so we often buy some bread after eating in the restaurant just before we head home. If looking for a taste of home this is worth a stop. read more

I purchased 2 large cookies and a Mexican pastry (smallish)....In most bakeries, this would easily have been a five dollar purchase. My total cost....$2.00....That's right, TWO BUCKS! (See my picture for the items). The cookies were very tasty. The best sugar cookie I've had in a long time. Pan Dulce is open until 10pm, which is also a convenience. I finally got the chance to try a few items from this local bakery and selected 2 filled triangle pastries (75 cents each); one with pineapple filling and one with cream filling. The pineapple filled one was delicious - the filling was not too sweet and the crust was perfect. It was slightly firm and not crumbly. I haven't tried the cream one yet but I'm already very encouraged by the first pastry. I wish they made churros, but I'll definitely be back to sample more of their cookies and cakes. Edit: I just ate the cream pastry and it's outstanding. The cream is actuall a custard similar to that of a Boston cream pie. The whole thing is dusted with sugar and the crust has a solid pie crust type feel to it. I am upgrading my rating to 5 stars based on the strength of the cream-filled triangle pastry. read more

Not a bad concha, it's fluffy and tasty. Do not get the flan--too dense. The gelatinas were good. The customer service was not good. Drove here randomly in the mood for a concha and we got that. The fact that they are connected to a restaurant, but will not let you sit and eat your pastries was annoying. They are clearly connected, and not busy--but had to eat our goods in the car (not so great). Also, they have a fancy espresso maker, but when we asked for coffee options, only drip coffee was an option--meaning they don't know how to use their coffee machine. Disappointing. read more

For cheesecake, the best I've had ever. Light. Not too creamy. But so satiating. I could check in as search returned nothing so I went through effort to add this place onto Yelp. They don't speak English though. Point, smile, and pay. Really nice lady served me. Looks like a little whole in the wall of a strip plaza. I want to see if they sell large pies. This bakery bread was on point! A lot bakeries claim to make their bread dreads daily but when you take a bite out their bread it taste old and stale. Not this bakery! Bread was soft and sweet and tasted fresh. Inside the place was also a plus, it was very clean. Definitely going to become a regular here. I wish they had a bit more of a selection though! read more

The worst Mexican bread I've ever had. Being a native Mexican I know what pan dulce is supposed to taste like. And this place failed....miserably. I visited this bakery on August 19th upon hearing great reviews from a local. I bought conchas, galletas, and an array of other breads to bring back home to Connecticut. I was so disappointed that I flew that bread cross country once my family tasted it. It was greasy but stale and dry. No flavor at all. No buttery taste, no spongy texture on the conchas. All it was was crumbly bread crumbs. It made me think of how bread must of tasted back in the 1800's ( from reading novels based on this era :) tasteless and re used like an unkempt vintage top from a thrift store. I'll just stick to my favorite Mexican bakery here in Portchester, New York. Where they do know how to bake good Mexican bread. I had an enormous craving for Sprinkle cookies the other day, so I went on Yelp to check out the bakeries in my area that made them, and I came across Pan Dulce Bakery which is located on Washington Blvd in Los Angeles. Right away, I saw a photo on their website that shows a large sprinkle cookie alongside other cookies on a pan. Their large sprinkle cookie which looks good, was exactly what I was looking for. Long story short, I decided to get several of the large sprinkle cookies, and after eating just one bite of one of the sprinkle cookies, I was delighted! Their sprinkle cookies which are very reasonably priced, tasted really delicious and they weren't too sweet or too buttery, like some of the sprinkle cookies I have tasted from other bakeries in the past. If you want well made and tasty sprinkle cookies at a very reasonable price, I highly recommend going to this bakery. read more
