Located right across from the tesla charging stations in SM. It's open air and exists on a small corner but easy to spot and has tons of seating inside. Ordered an americano and iced latte with almond milk for ~$9 total with tip so price was decent compared to other coffees in the area. Service was decent but coffee had an interesting after taste to it and somehow was slightly watered down. Coffee had a decent caffeine kick to it though. read more

I went here on a black Friday morning.. there was none as probably that's just after they opened I went here. The barista seemed ok. Acted like I don't understand the language kept showing me the signs of the bill on the screen as if I didn't understand what $4 mean. For $16 for two coffees and a cookie, plus the great reviews which had compelled me to specifically set out to visit Coffee Commissary on Santa Monica Blvd., I was very disappointed. WHY you might ask? 1. My Gingerbread Coffee had too much nutmeg. It made me gag and the coffee tasted awful mixed with almond mylk. 2. I exchanged my coffee for a Vanilla Latte after taking my first sip of the Gingerbread Latte.The 2nd coffee was just as bad as the 1st. All the syrup in the world can't mask the flavor of the beans. 3. The temperature of the 2nd coffee was luke-warm. 4. It would have been great if the barista would have asked what type of milk I wanted the second time around. 5. The 1st, and 2nd coffee ended up in the trash. Ironically I was walking to Starbucks and I accidentally stumbled upon coffee commissary. I am familiar with the area pretty well. However, I've never seen it before. I have also be to other coffee commissary and the decor was not the same. They have hot pink chairs with wooden tables and neon lighting. It super stands out and super cute cafe. I asked Saudi (my barista) if this location was new. She informed me it had been here for about a year but it's somewhat hard to miss and thats why people don't see it. I had to do some work on my laptop and asked if they had wifi and they do, perfect! I'm not much of a coffee drinker and not too familiar with what to order. I asked her for some suggestions and she was extremely helpful and patient with me, thank you! She also recommended one of there pastries I couldn't resist and don't regret it. My order only took a few short minutes and the coffee looked so cute (heart shaped) and tasted amazing! I ordered the Cubano and highly recommend. I had to snap a shot but there was no one there that early. I asked Saudi if she would please take a picture, and she did!!!! I seriously had an amazing experience, my coffee was perfect and so was my treat, and the ambiance was really an enjoyable experience. Pink chairs, cute coffee shop. Count me in! I love going to different coffee shops and found this one while in town having lunch with my s/o nearby. It's an extremely small shop right next to a car dealership so meant to be more of a kiosk type feel with the addition of the cute tables and decor. I love the pink tables and chairs and it's such a nice pop! The coffee was good and we were able to sit and enjoy for a while and of course take some photos! read more

I've been going to coffee commissary's for a while and been to several locations. I always order a flat white with oat milk. Every time. I'm always usually greeted with a smile or a 'good morning' which is why I love going there. This one unfortunately had neither. The lady working there seemed as if she didn't want to be there, as well as making it very clear they do not serve a flat white coffee. She did not even try to ask what it was. I had mentioned that every other location served one no problems but she made it clear not this one. She did make a great cappuccino, however a smile would have been really nice. :/ read more

I've driven by this cute corner coffee shop an uncountable number of times and finally got to try it on my lunch break. I wanted to order something different than my usual, boring coffee order and opted for an iced cubano with oat milk. WHOA. Right across from the tesla supercharger so it's a very convenient spot to get your caffeine fix while charging your car. Really good coffee, I like that they don't use too much sugar and ask you for how much sugar you want in your drink. We ordered 3 iced lattes today all of them tasted and smelled like curdled milk. Unfortunately we were at work already so we weren't able to go back and let them know. A new location next to the MINI dealership, this Coffee Commissary is pretty simple. I enjoy that the venue can be indoor/outdoor if they open/close the garage doors. The barista was very friendly and helpful in coming to a decision on what to order. I got a Cubano, which was $5, and was incredibly underwhelmed. There is a small snack menu from some other bakery, but I didn't try it. Parking in the dealership is fine. There are no outlets for laptops. Not sure if I'll be back, but it's still a nice place to try out and see if you like it yourself. read more

Great Machiato subtle flavors, well balanced. Coffee is however served in an open corner of the Mini dealership, it's loud and though covered not at all a peaceful place, no way you could make a phone call (carrying on conversation would have been difficult when I was there ). It DID NOT HELP that the barista/cashier was playing a TV show very loudly. UPDATE: the noise level is migraine inducing unless you BRING YOUR noise cancelling headsets. Usually LOVE commissary and we usually go to the one on Motor ave for our iced cubano fix but we decided to check out this location because we were on the west side. My friend surprised me with one of their gluten free chocolate mini loaves. At first I was a little skeptical to be honest ... like bread from a coffee shop? Will it really be that good? And guess what it was! It's like a light brownie with sea salt. The salt gives it a nice contrast and adds a lot of depth ... almost like a warm flavor to the sweetness. Highly recommend. The good news is that their coffee and pastries are fantastic... the bad news is walking a few blocks to get said coffee and pastries to start and find an empty pastry case with zero food options. Too many options in this area to sleep on such a basic. Let's hope this is an anomaly. Update: So, a few weeks later I again walk several blocks to give another chance and now they have 4 things to offer (an improvement?) but none of their savory items which I'm told were "left out" of this order. Tye wanted to charge an extra dollar for almond milk. I do a lot of traveling and I love to try every coffee place but I never heard of anyone charging extra dollar because you want almond milk instead of regular milk. I didn't care to ask their name but it is Thursday the 15th 2021. The person is wearing a uncommon t-shirt. This person doesn't need to be working with customers. At all. I'm mew here never been here and am not a coffee Connoisseur. But this person was beyond rude. I was polite and didn't know what Coffee had milk in it or not and this person didn't say thank you or please. Lol and I get it. It's a coffee place. But this person needs to be sat down and given a reality check. I just don't give my energy to persons that don't require it so I kept it to myself. But yes terrible experience. Just got my car serviced at Subaru and their coffee machine was down so I had to walk here. And the experience was terrible. Get rid of this person because they don't fit. I do love the pink cup holders! :-) Popped by after getting the dog from the vet and, like their Culver City location, totally dog friendly (always a win). They have the same delicious treats as the Culver City location (YAY!!!). Best vegan bread ever - and I am not even a vegan. So moist and a nice thick slice. Got a pour over coffee which is also great. Pretty quiet for a Sunday morning (which was perfect for me and the dog) but I'm sure it gets busier during the week. Great central location.
