Manuel saved my ass. We bought a new AC and furnace this past summer. We've had nothing but problems with workmanship with the original install. Our furnace went out again last night and luckily Alfa was referred to us by the "Rat guys" aka The Original Rodent Proofers. Manuel explained the problems and fixed them. I'll be switching my HVAC service to Alfa. read more

They are the best in the business, in term of HVAC contractor for residential unit. I am sure of it. Alfa installed new system in our house, 2 years ago, ie: condenser, heater, blower and had us setup for a dual zone system so upper and lower levels can be controlled separately. The installation went well, the crew was very professional and courteous. They also were very clean. This system comes with 10 years manufacturer warranty and 3 years labor warranty. The last 2 years some issues did come up (not contractor's fault): 1. An earthquake triggered the gas automatic shutoff. 2. The blower motor was defective, replaced at no cost by the manufacturer. 3. The capacitor blew out (defective), promptly replaced by Alfa at no cost. The most impressive things for us are how Alfa responded to the issues above. The owner responded the same day, 2 of those issues came up on Fridays late afternoon. The technician came in the next business day. They were even able to install the replacement blower on the Memorial Day. Keep in mind that all these calls are for warranty issues and they knew they would not make any money of them. If that's not the mark of an excellent customer service, I don't know what is. We will highly recommended Alfa to anybody who needs their residential heating and cooling serviced or replaced! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Alfa and the owner, Alvaro. They are absolutely the best. We use them exclusively in our property management business. They are always prompt, honest and do excellent work at a very fair price. There are other HVAC companies to choose from but Alfa is the absolute best! read more

I met Mr. Al when we first moved to Bay Point, he sold us a used washer and dryer, both appliances worked well for many years. My AC went out, so I contacted him, he answered my call immediately, he sent Manny to my home to take a look at the AC and confirmed it needed to be replaced! Manny installed the new AC and Enrique installed the air handler in the attic! They were so professional and completed the install very efficiently! Mr. Al and his team, they do great work and he has great used appliances! Thank you so much! read more

Alfa Appliances is a small shop in the back of a nondescript strip mall in Bay Point. When you walk in there are about a dozen or so refrigerators, washers, dryers. They sell them for a very fair price. The will pick up your old one and deliver the new appliance included in their price. Refrigerators run about $200 .00 on up. They have stoves too. I regularly have used this company and so far have been very pleased with their service. read more

Currently renting and the rental did not have a dryer. Had the option to save money and use the families washer/dryer. It was fine at first, but a certain point, it would be nice to do and laundry at home. That is when I decided to look for dryer. I just wanted to get a decent working one until we move to our own place. Checked major stores like Home Depot, Lowes or Sears. All had nice appliances, but not at a price range I wanted to pay. That is when I found Alpha Appliances Discounter. Prices are decent and the selection was more than what I expected. They are all rebuilt and restored nicely. It also does have a warranty, which at the price range and used condition usually does not have. I met the brothers that own the company and a a pleasure to work with. Oh, they deliver too! I would recommend them to anyone that does not have to have the brand new appliances and just wants something that works. What you will get in the end is a great working, rebuilt appliance that will exceed your expectations, like they did with me. read more

these guys saved my butt twice. Once I moved and needed a Fridge, and the 2nd when my dryer went out and needed replacement. Both times they delivered same day (within a few hours), very professional and aware of your hardwood floors when moving stuff in/out. Prices are very reasonable, and they are very prompt if you call them for service. I'll recommend these guys over any corp. chain ANY DAY. read more

Alfa is my go to choice for anything related to AC or washer/dryer and they should be yours too! Whenever I've called them a person always answers the phone immediately. Never a machine and I've never been on hold. And they are ready to serve you. I've been able to get same day appointments or next day. They show up on time and are happy to talk you through whatever procedure they are doing. Great service from beginning to end. This is a company that acts like they want your business, so you should give it to them! And on top of that, they are very reasonable with prices. I've never been gouged, in fact I've always been relieved when I get the price quote. These guys are fair and want you to return as a happy customer. Highly recommended. read more

I went into the store to buy a used washer to replace my old one which was making funny noises and, after asking me what the old one sounded like, the guy told me that it could be repaired for less than it would cost to buy one there. And he was true to his word. The repairman, Edgar, although a bit on the late side, was very courteous, and had my washer back to normal in about an hour! Thanks a million! read more

I have used Alfa a few times and each time they fixed the issue. Once they even even told me that I needed a replacement rather than a fix. The latest was a fridge issue which they repaired at an affordable price. Well done. read more

My refrigerator was leaking and they came out within a hour to fix it & told me to unplug for 12 hours. They came back the next day promptly at the time they said they'd be there and had it fixed within a half an hour. Price was reasonable. On the first cold day of the year, my furnace stopped working. I called eleven other contractors; of the four who answered only two were available within the same week. Alfa, however, was able to come out and diagnose the problem within a couple of hours and then returned and installed the necessary replacement part the following morning. And rates were very reasonable. read more

When we moved to Antioch we needed a washer, dryer and fridge. We found Alfa on yelp and gave them a shot. Finding the place has difficult as it is in the back of the building. The selection was limited but we found all three for less than $900. That was 2 months ago. Last week the dryer stopped working. We could not find the receipt but found the number in my yelp history and called them up. No hassle, they came right out and said it was a part that they had to order. Came back in a couple of days with the part. It did not fix the dryer, but they guy had a replacement dryer with him just in case and swapped them out right there. No hassles and very courteous. I have a lot of respect for a company that stands behind its warranty on products it sells, especially used appliances like these. read more

I can't comment on their service because I never made it inside the store. It said they're opened on yelp and we drove all the way from SF and there was a sign saying they'll be back at 2. I came back when they were supposed to be open and the sign was still there. Called and nobody picked up. Should update your open/close status. read more

Ive worked with Alvero and Alpha Applicances for almost 6 years. They are cost effective and very prompt when it comes to purchasing or repairing used appliances, and even HVAC issues! I highly recommend them! read more

I love these guys. Nine months ago they set me up with a reconditioned washer, dryer, and refrigerator, delivered and installed for $650 with a 4 month warranty, and I could put it on a credit card. It was less than the price of many used refrigerators without delivery, installation, or warranty, and Craigslist doesn't take Visa. They even leveled the feet on the fridge so that the door closes on its own. They were polite, efficient, and quick. What more could you possibly want? read more

My fridge went out. I called them around 1:00 in the afternoon. The sent a technician out same day after I got off work. Took the tech 15 minutes to get my fridge up and running again. Prompt, affordable, knowledgeable and respectful service.....who could ask for more! read more

Alpha Appliances (AKA: Alfa Appliances) (based out of Bay Point) saved the day for us after our Kenmore refrigerator was having issues. Called on Thursday evening and they were out with the correct part and had our refrigerator working as good as new by Saturday morning. Here's the detailed story if you care to read more... Sears Home Services couldn't get to us for several weeks, so I started by calling several repair shops based on Yelp reviews. Most could get to us for more than a week (a long time to have a refrigerator that isn't working properly. The first guy that came out (from Ferrer's Appliances) told us that the control board was "probably" the problem, but that his suppliers were out of stock on the part and it would be 3-4 weeks before he could get one and the parts and labor would be about $500. I told him we couldn't wait that long and he was nice enough to waive the trip charge. I did a little research online, saw a YouTube video on how to replace the control board on out fridge and ordered the part online (for $187) and had it overnight. I put it in (in less than 10 mins.) and... no luck... it was't the problem. Luckily I could return the board. So then I looked online and found out that Sears Home Services had a cancellation and they could get to us a couple days later. The Sears guy came out and correctly diagnosed the problem as a dead refrigerator evaporator fan, and while he could get the part out to us within couple of days... it would be 3 weeks before a repair person could be scheduled to come out to install it. He gave me a full understanding of the fact that Sears Home Services is totally understaffed and back logged with service requests. The quote for the entire repair was $589. I told him I could not wait that long so he gave me the part number so I could get someone else to install it and charged me $89 for the "trip fee". So be it. The part he recommended was the complete duct assembly for the rear of the fridge which contains the evaporator fan. (a $200+ part). So, now armed with the information about the correct part to fix our problem, I started looking for someone who could come out and install it (my wife vetoed the DIY/YouTube solution on this one). Because I expected it might be weeks before I could get someone out... I decided I would see if I could find a used fridge on Craigslist to use temporarily. That's where I came across an ad for Alpha Appliances. I called and spoke to to Alvaro and explained the whole situation. He told me that he could get the part I needed and be out on Saturday morning to install it. While he agreed that the Sears technician's diagnosis sounded right... he would bring other parts in case it was something else. Also... he said there was no reason to replace the entire duct assembly (as the Sears tech had recommended) if only the fan needed replacing. So.. on Saturday morning, one of the technicians from Alpha came out and within less than an hour had our fridge repaired. The guy who came out didn't speak English very well, but fortunately my wife is fluent in Spanish. He was an experienced technician (had worked for the company for 12 years). Total price $300 and included a 3 month warranty on the repair. Isn't this the kind of service we all want? Responsive, honest, and reliable... willing to back up their work. Good job Alpha! read more

I had Alfa heating & cooling come to my house and look at my wall furnace because it went out. They had it up and running within a few minutes, they were friendly, pretty affordable & will continue to do business with. Great job!!! read more

I bought a washer, dryer and refrigerator from this company 4 months ago for around $700. Great deal. They have a 4 month warranty on appliances. My dryer just stopped heating up yesterday. I called Alpha and they came out the next day and replaced a fuse on the dryer. It only took 15 minutes and now the dryer works fine! They stick to their word and are very reliable. I highly recommend them if you don't want to pay high prices for new appliances! read more

I called this company to come install a new water heater into my home. I purchase a brand new water heater from Home Depot had that I have the guy pick it up to install it in my home and instead he brought a broken water heater to my house to install. I then told him that that water heater was broken and that's not the one I purchased so he installed the right one and try to take the broken one back to Home Depot and return it to get money back for something I paid for. I have use this company in the past to have my refrigerator fix they charge me $350 and my refrigerator is still broken and they will not give me my money back for the refrigerator that they never fixed. When the guy was here fixing my hot water heater he stole several things out of my garage while he was supposed to be fixing the water heater. When I confronted the guy about the stuff he stole from my garage he even said that they would reimburse me for everything they stole but it has been over 2 weeks now and I still have not received one dime from them. This is a very bad company and I do not advise anybody to use any of their services ever. read more

These guys are definitely reliable. I bought a washer and gas dryer from them about 4 months ago. I called them to check out my dryer. They were there the next day with replacement parts and a replacement dryer, just in case the parts didn't work. After they made some minor adjustments the dryer worked great. Recently, I had to move and the new property did not have a gas line for the gas dryer. They came and replaced the gas dryer for a matching electric one. Anytime I call they are very professional, honest, and polite. I highly recommend this company to anyone that can live with refurbished appliances and would like to support an honest, family business. read more
