Do not use this company. They are the most dishonest heating and AC company serving the Grand Strand of South Carolina. They strive to sell as many new HVAC units as possible by fraudulently telling you your current unit is beyond repair and must be replaced. Then they incorrectly install your new until, leaving you at risk for an electrical fire. They also install it in such a way that it will quickly suffer damage from condensation that they should have installed buffers to protect it from. Then, six months later, they begin telling you about the rust damage (from what they fail to do during installation) and suggest costly steps you need to take to repair the damage. You will begin dreading their twice yearly visits because they will try to convince you each time that there is another $5,000 part replacement or modification that you must have if you don't want to have to replace the entire unit very soon. Our salesman, Scott Ruckel, was amazing. He taught me about heat pumps and the many advantages offered by these units. He answered all my questions and offered recommendations that would benefit my situation. Excellent pricing, warranties, and related services. Jason and Craig installed the 2.5 ton, 15 SEER, Bryant Heat Pump and furnace in my condo. They were phenomenal! The team had to modify duct work, electrical connections, reposition and replace the above ground poles to accommodate the new units. Everything was insulated and installed with precision. System was up and running by the afternoon. So nice to have adequate heat without continual running of the former noisy furnace. Kudos for a seemless purchase, delivery and installation. We worked with One-Hour Heating & AC back in 2016, and although it seems that things may have changed with its customer service since then, judging by some more recent reviews, my family had an absolutely stellar experience with them. Our standard-issue California wall heater abruptly exploded in November 2016, and when we got a $3k quote to replace it, we knew it was finally time to get HVAC. But it was a few days away from Thanksgiving; surely we were going to be left hanging until December? Not at all. One-Hour Heating & AC dispatched operations manager Nick H and Todd to give us an estimate for what it would cost to do a fresh HVAC install, which was on par with the other HVAC estimates we had collected that year. Only we were finally excited for two reasons (besides a blown-up heater) - 1) this install was for mini-splits, which didn't require tearing up the walls or floors to install ductwork, and 2) the team would be able to do the whole installation prior to Thanksgiving! I was very satisfied with the work Chau, Eric, and Matt did to install a system that has worked great for years. Tony M went above and beyond by doing the final work on Thanksgiving eve. Standout moment: right before he left, Tony said it was very important to him that we had heat. It was a really significant effort on the part of everyone involved. Installation required work on three calendar days, and it was definitely work. We had heat heading into December because of them. Six out of five stars for this. They did remove and dispose of the old double wall heater and cap off the gas, but never came back to patch the wall in that area. That brings the total down to five stars. :) The permitting and inspection went great, all the warranties were sound, and the products have been reliable. Multiple issues with the Rocklin, CA location and One Hour in general. A few years ago my primary AC's compressor went out (split system: AC compressor outside, gas heat inside). I asked if they could just replace the outside unit (and inside evaporator coil). I was told "No", they both, outside and inside, had to be replaced. Recently my other AC went out, same brand. I called another company and they just replaced the outside unit and inside evaporator coil. They said if I didn't have any trouble with heating that there was no need to replace the inside unit. They told me that One Hour's answer to me was BS and that they just upsold to get more commission. After the install of the primary unit I wasn't sure that One Hour had done a proper install. I called another company to come out and look. Sure enough One Hour's install had issues and One Hour had to come out and fix the problems the other guy found. The third issue had to do with their yearly maintenance. I had it for a few years, they only checked the inside unit, never even visiting the outside AC. I requested at least six times for them (local and corporate) to tell me what was in the maintenance package. I NEVER got an answer or even a returned call. Needless to say I didn't renew. FWIW - the latest installer's maintenance includes loads of things that One Hour never did, such as cleaning the outside AC's coils. I ADVISE YOU NEVER USE THIS SERVICE (Please read to the end before making any assumptions) This business is nationwide and I used the Lee's Summit Missouri location but I've seen similar reviews all over the country on Yelp. Hello, I had a business visit my father's home today (I live in the same house) to have our furnace looked at. We were told that the problem is either the main board that will cost $850 (roughly) and it is unknown if this will fix the issue. The other option is to get a new furnace which will cost $10,000. They wanted to get someone out to the house ASAP to start the work. This did not make sense so we called another HVAC professional. This person came out and fixed the furnace within an hour and there was nothing wrong with the main board and we certainly did not need a new furnace. He finished the work and gave us the bill for $350. I looked up reviews for the first company and I saw the same story over and over and over again. Someone calls One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning, the Tech arrives quickly and tells the victim they have a major problem but it turns out to be a minor issue another (honest) company came in to fix. Companies like One Hour Heating and Air Cond likely install many many new furnaces and AC units in homes who had a minor issue and many never know they have been had. I spoke to the General Manager Kyle Corkern today and he confirmed my suspicion that they pay their Techs a commission for a "sale". But the Techs deliver this information as a fact when actually it is completely fabricated in order for the Tech to get their commission and the company to rob their customer by giving them a much higher bill than what is actually needed. Many reviews I read stated that there was nothing wrong with part of their furnace or AC until the Tech looked at it and then suddenly there was an issue. Some believe the Techs go so far as to damage their property when left alone so they can gain a higher commission and the company delivers a higher bill. I believe this is systemic fraud and this company has been at it for many years. I live in the house my grandmother owned when she was alive and she bought a new furnace in 2002 through One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning but was known as "Boan" at the time. I don't know if the furnace in 2002 was broken or not but I do believe the company looked up the history associated with this address today and they saw they were able to get a new furnace installed in 2002 and wanted to do the same today whether it was needed or not. We are talking about $10,000. It is like needing new tires on your car and told you need a new car. That is a significant financial burden to customers and profit to One Hour H&AC. If I choose to invest in a new furnace that is my choice. When I'm told there is a problem that is not really there, that choice is taken from me and I strongly believe this was an intentional act to get the most expensive outcome they could and as fast as possible. This is backed up by many many reviews I've read plus my experience today. The problem had nothing to do with the main board or the furnace, it was a dirty filter and a simple broken switch that was $350. I am betting this company has been doing this for a long time and I believe it to be fraud. I dealt with the Lee's Summit Missouri location today but this company has complaints all over the country and it is obvious they are training their Techs to lie about unneeded repairs. My father had a stroke over the summer and needs surgery again. They left him without heat today and the decision to spend over $800 on a part that was proven not to be broken and added that may not even fix the issues (It wouldn't because we found the board was not the issue), get a new furnace for $10,000, or pay the $99 service fee he paid One Hour plus another service fee for second opinion were he may hear the same thing. I had my A/C & Heating replaced on 3/2/15 with Heat pump system to take advantage of the electricity I was generating from my solar panels for $14,688 and an "air scrubber" subsequently for another $1,650. The A/C part worked great in the summer, but I got cold air in the winter. The dust in the house is as bad as it was before the "air scrubber." Considering the money I've spent, I'm very unhappy with what I got! I should have been warned that a heat pump in the winter would blow cold! Currently I'm looking to replace my heater with a gas furnace or to piggyback a gas furnace to my current "air handler." I do NOT recommend One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning! read more

It is my fault for taking the recommendation of our neighbor and letting the One Hour Heating and Cooling people fast/smooth talk me into agreeing to purchase a new HVAC system plus dehumidifier and vapor barrier for our crawl space at THOUSANDS of dollars more than I could have gotten the same or better quality elsewhere. During the process of the installation and two call backs because things were not done even close to properly, I talked to around 6 people and got a different answer from each one, most of which conflicted with the others. There is no way of knowing if any one of them was being truthful. I received NO manufacturer's warranty with any of the new equipment. All they would, very reluctantly, give me is a printed piece of paper verifying that they had registered the warranty with THE FRANCHISE. No information on brand, etc. If they franchise goes out of business we are totally stuck. This franchise has its home office in Nashville TN. As another reviewer said, if the specific franchise will not honor their warranty or if they are out of business you have no recourse and no way to get repairs done except to hope that another company can repair that brand - whatever that brand is. He is the first tech in 10 yrs of living here to be able to figure out a complicated external air filter that I had. And after he figured out what it was he realized that one of the ducts had been off so the clean air had been shooting in my closet! One Hour (Hudson, FL) did our installation of a new A/C unit and heat pump back in September, 2022. The 2 initial installers were inadequate and had to call upon a seasoned installer late into the evening to finish the job. Our regular tech, Steven Rogers, who is fantastic, came days after the install and noted items that needed to be fixed/changed out. I just received a call on March 13, 2023, asking if they could come out and change out the items that were incorrectly installed. It took 7 months for them to address a bad install ... are you kidding me!!!!! Today they sent another 2 installers to change out the incorrect equipment, who proceeded to chip our brand new wood floors even though I expressed my concern and wanted to put down a tarp!!! I notified One Hour and stated that none of their staff, except for Steven Rogers, will ever be allowed into our home again! William Sage - Senior Technician basically gave me the run around and said we needed to have a leak detection and repaired for $1800 plus a band-aid fix to add coolant for about $600. I had another company come out and they fixed it and explained exactly what was wrong in an hour for $300. I felt William was just trying to sell me something and did a horrible job explaining the issues. BTW, his apprentice was very nice. read more

Watch out! The question to ask is; are the repair techs paid on commission. That will drive the cost sky high! These guys were quick to respond but any repair needed is WAY overpriced. They misdiagnosed (for $95 diagnostic fee) that the main board was the problem, their standard pricing sheet came out and I'm looking at $950 for the board Plus the $95 fee and their diagnosis was wrong. The problem was the gas valve which, I'm sure would have cost another $900 with One Hour. I found the same OEM board at a local appliance parts house for $250, that's a whopping $800 profit and that didn't fix the problem theres no doubt that I would have gone up from there. I found an independant shop, been around for 20 years, and replaced both the gas valve and board for under $500 and now I have a perfectly good board to sell on eBay. read more

He is such a Wonderful Technican, not only professionally & friendly answered all my questions, also he worked perfectly on what the system needed. He respected all information we have provided and he trusts the customer in using special discount coupon. We appreciated on his uplifting attitude and the Company offers'. Ron checked and cleaned in details on our system without rush. You can tell how careful he handled on each individual part and even on each screw. After waiting 1 week for my appointment, which my tenant took off work for, they tell me the day of the appointment that they don't work on heaters in condos. Mind you, when I booked the appointment, I gave them the name of the condo association, the unit number, and the tenant's name/number - they said nothing then, nor when I called to confirm the appointment. The lady who gave me the $49 teaser rate couldn't seem to find the price per pound for R22 freon, but assured me it was competitive. I told her "there better not be any surprises. The technicians arrived and before they started need to let me know the cost to add R22 freon. Over $200 per pound. Having done my homework ahead of time I knew it was a ripoff and told them they would NOT be doing the work on my 2 AC units. I ended up going with a local Heating and Air company who had many 5 Star ratings. 2 Morals to the story: First, don't get suckered in by $49 teaser rate. STAY AWAY! Very Very disappointed with 1-Hour Heating & Air. I faithfully had them come to our home in Santa Rosa, Ca annually to perform a tune up on our units, that we were of the understanding included a vital cleaning of our AC unit. Before their last visit in July of this year, I once again renewed our "Home Protection Club" membership. About 3 weeks after their "service", our AC unit quit. I called another provider just to get a different perspective. They ended up replacing the condenser that was obviously swollen and had been going out for some time. The inside of the unit looked like it hasn't been cleaned in years. I called twice to get my $219 membership refunded, which they said they would, and to talk to a manager. I wanted an itemized costs breakdown of the unit. The cost of the unit, labor, etc. Pretty simple request, but they would not do it! (Summer time every A/C repair company is busy) But getting service for Monday was more then fair. Total bill was $386!!!!! Yikes!!!!! $109 for the Diagnostic and repair and parts $277=$386.......Why a $16 part capacitor and 1 hour labor =$386 shows had rigged the A/C repair service industry is. The service was done well and fast, but you pay a fortune in return. This was an emergency. (104 temp days with an elderly person in the home) ****Next time stock your own A/C parts ahead of time and fix it yourself. Its very easy to do. So three stars for One Hour......Good, fast service, but your gonna pay. read more

Our AC was only blowing hot air in 100+ degree weather and One Hour was the only company able to come out quickly. They took one look at the unit and immediately said the entire thing needed to be replaced and gave all these bogus reasons why. He told us we needed to pay at least $4,000-$10,000 and wanted us to make a decision on the spot. I decided to get a second opinion because that's a lot of money. Turns out, it was a screw that was touching the metal disconnect box that was causing it to arc and trip the breaker. It was a simple $175 fix! Thanks for trying to take advantage of us. Unfortunately for you, we're not the ignorant first time homeowners you hoped we would be, we actually did some research. Great company! Professional from the moment you speak with a rep on the phone to the end of the job. They also call to let you know the tech is on his way and/or if there is a change in schedule. Andre is great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Explains things well and repairs everything or returns with the offending part and replaces it. Showed us that there were more filters to our heater that previous techs did not know about. We bought the annual contract. Well worth it.
