From the moment we checked in, until we regretfully had to leave we loved Alexander's Guesthouse. Staff was 100%. We happen to be a lesbian couple, but would've stayed here regardless. They have at least 15 unique rooms, layed out between a few diff floors in multiple good sized cottages. The breakfast was at a good time 8:30-11:30 everyday which was large, varied, and delicious! They always have coffee, water, tea, and juice on hand, welcome cocktails, and daily FREE happy hour from 3:30-4:30ish (sometimes longer depending on the crowd.) We made friends, swam at 2am, took topless photos on one of the clothing optional decks, rented bikes from there, played on site games and more. going back again. We went midweek and it was a quieter crowd. As we left it seemed to get a little more amped, but everyone seems to respect an unspoken curfew. Davoll St & Mallory Square are a brisk 10 Min walk or $10 Uber (standard price really w tip.)

I absolutely love this place!!! Everyone there were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are well kept and the bed actually feels great. We had a slight hot water heater issue for a few hours but the establishment reimbursed us a portion for the inconvenience. I cannot imagine staying at another place if I'm ever in Key West again. They just make you feel welcomed all throughout our stay there. I definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

This place is such a gem! Everything was seamless from start to finish. Mr. Tim even called me the day before so that we could expedite our check in when we arrived. Once at Alexander's, we were immediately greeted by Mr. Tim, who treated us like long lost friends. He gave us a personal tour of the property and went over pertinent details. When he showed us to our room (rm 10, highly recommend!), he noticed that the outdoor fan was not working. He had this fixed immediately the next day! (We got in right as they were closing due to covid hours.) Everything was spotless, and they exceeded expectations and made sure that everyone still felt safe with covid going on at the time. The decor in the house and rooms was beautiful. The pool area and garden was incredibly lush and tropical. If we didn't want to hang out on the outdoor bed (there was a separate outdoor area with our room), there were plenty of spots to hang out at the pool or one of the porches overlooking the beautiful property. Mr. Tim also set us up with bike rentals so that we could use them immediately when we got there. The bikes are definitely the way to get around the island quicker and without worrying about car parking. (There is street parking, but first come-first served.) The other part of our stay that was exceptional was happy hour every day from 4:30-5:30. They kept all of the fruity drinks (or wine/beer/etc) flowing! If it was after 530 and you still wanted to hang around at the pool/bar for more drinks, they would happily bill your room, with your permission. Nearly everyone we spoke to had been staying at Alexander's for years when they visited the Keys, and now we understand why. Will definitely be back. Thanks for the incredible hospitality!

My wife and I LOVED it here. The staff was phenomenal, the amenities were amazing, the other guests were friendly... such a safe and beautiful space for LGBTQ people. We'll definitely be back.

If your looking for low-key quiet and relaxing this is the place for you. It's the type of place to read a book and sit with it's ambient music that you can't hear it. For me I prefer if they would amp music a bit for afternoons by the pool (which unfortunately is shaded in 80% of the deck all day long). I can only take so much Frank Sinatra or ambient mood music turned to a level you can barely hear it. The breakfast is included and they do a nice job although it's fairly sugar heavy and the fruit was often not the freshest or best quality. It's defiantly above standards though for breakfast offered at similar establishments. The complimentary happy hour was too early in my book 4:30 is the time most people want to take a break for the pool as the sun is going down and take a break. But 4:30 is the appointed time. Disappointed in the selection. No beer included, wine was not drinkable and tropical mixed drinks aren't my bag. So that perk wasn't much of a perk for me. The rooms: nicely decorated although need to update bathrooms, need more storage, walls and doors are thin. One of the rooms I stayed in the main building had a glass door with blinds that let light from the hallway into the room at nite. A solid door would be highly recommended. Things like upgraded shower heads and nicer tiling would make a big difference. Storage in one of the rooms was an old tv cabinet that had no longer been utilized since flat screens were introduced...shoved into a corner as a place to store clothes...odd choice. Overall the staff was all nice and accommodating. The overall experience was pleasant although not sure I would make a point to return. A 3.5 star experience for me.

My friends and I spent a long weekend here getting two rooms. The property is absolutely stunning and give you a relaxing welcoming vibe. The staff is top notch and extremely friendly. They do offer a free breakfast and a daily free happy hour! Bikes are available for rent which I highly recommend. It's much easier to get around Key West and Uber's are kind of pricy. If you are looking for a fun or romantic getaway, I highly recommend you give Alexander's your business.

    Drag bingo!

I couldn't recall if I'd reviewed Alexander's on Yelp. If I already have it bears repeating! My wife and I had the good fortune of a free room at friends home 4 blocks from Alexander's for 25 years. They moved to another tropical island. We love where they moved however we still love Key West. Alexander's looked from the past reviews that we would "fit". And we have twice in 2021 and we go for 2 weeks April 2022. In every category one could think of the staff to a person is friendly, sociable and accommodating. Guests are from absolutely every spectrum and the interaction at breakfast and happy hour remind us of how ALL of Key West was but unfortunately sometimes no longer is. We can no longer spend a whole month at a time in Key West. When we can visit Alexander's is our home. Thanks y'all, see you in a couple months! John and Jen

I absolutely loved this place, came here with my husband for our wedding anniversary and the entire staff were terrific we both felt nothing but love throughout our entire stay and we can't wait to come back to visit thank you guys. And they have a great complimentary breakfast with quite the variety and happy hour where you get to socialize with the other guests.

    Loved the ultra-chic lobby!

Completely exceeded my expectations! Sadly we could only stay one night in Room 6. Loved the chic decor, warm staff, peaceful waterfall plunge pool and friendly cat Hercules. Many return guests who were all very friendly. We were the only straight couple which didn't bother me one bit. Bikes are available for rent and they got my husband a 6 pack of his favorite IPA for his birthday. We loved our room. Small but great decor, A/C kept us at the perfect temp and bed was very comfortable. Chocolate chip cookies (a lil stale), Andes mints, bird of paradise and nice tolietries. DVD collection and books in the lobby for guests plus a free happy hour an nice breakfast poolside included. Our room was on the second floor and we had a semi-private deck overlooking the pool where I enjoyed a cup of cuban coffee while my hubby slept in. I hope to return someday to our little slice of heaven!

The fact that we visited in the middle of summer and didn't get bit by a single mosquito! How is that even possible in Florida during summer??? They must spray & have mosquito repelling plants. Or super powers. Our room was cute and clean. We got the standard room (no upgrades) after the Hyatt screwed up our reservation and we were scrambling to find accommodations last minute. On top of that the room is almost closet sized with an exposed shower and sink which makes it feel very humid in the room. Theres barely enough space between the bed and wall to walking into the room. The shower also hadn't been cleaned with a piece of old soap stuck to the floor and bug crawling under the pillow when i moved it.. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front desk who first told me it was a queen. The GM came on later that evening and admitted that it wasn't a queen and offered us a slightly larger rom but same size bed. Again the sink was in the room and it was stuffy and humid which made it hard to sleep more than four hours. I canceled the room after one night and tried to get my money back, but they've refused. Do not stay at this hotel. The "queen room" is basically just a hostel at hotel prices. $260 a night in my case.

We absolutely loved the location of Casa 325 but I think we loved the fact Casa 325 had a pool even more so! Between lounging in the pool for hours (I fell asleep!) and the air conditioning, we survived Florida at the end of July - oh the humidity! Our room was super cute, spacious, and clean. We had two twin beds which was perfect for our needs. There was also a small refrigerator although I'm not sure about a hair dryer. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quite charming overall. Reasonably priced - access the best rates on hotels.com or Expedia. While I would have loved to give the coveted fifth star to Casa 325, I could not because we had some initial difficulty with the parking situation at Casa 325. Despite there being a parking lot in the back (although small), we were directed to park at a lot a couple blocks away from the hotel. With that being said, we had to pay $20 for overnight parking and I don't believe it was in and out parking but I might be wrong on that. Either way, it was frustrating to have to park a couple blocks away with all of our belongings. And, having been on the road for over three weeks, our stuff was no where near organized to be able to easily pull it out of the car and drag it to the hotel. Oh well, we survived.
