We hired Alden Roofing to do a complete roof replacement in 2016. They were one of the few companies that showed up for an inspection and gave us a written estimate. At the time of the replacement I was going out of state to visit my dying father. I was told the roof would take 2 days to replace and that it would be done, no problem. Unfortunately, the roof was not done on time so I came home to hours of hammering on the roof. I believe it was an issue with ordering materials on time AKA their fault. 4 years later, the roof is great. We had a skylight that was leaking so I called Alden to make sure it wasn't part of the roof since we have a warranty. They had someone come out and their employee did not knock on my door to let me know he arrived, just climbed up on the roof. He knew I was home because I made contact with him to advise him on the location of the skylight since we have 2. After his inspection, he left. Did not attempt to call or speak with me to let me know his findings. I had to call Alden and ask what the issue was. They said it was the flashing around the skylight, not the roof and they needed to get me an estimate for a replacement. I had to call them the next week when I did not get an estimate. At this point I was told that they had several estimates that needed to be uploaded into the system and it wasn't done yet. I told them that since the skylight was not part of the roof warranty I didn't need to go through them and I would call other companies to get an estimate. This is customary for doing any home repairs. You don't just get one estimate. I emailed them and told them I was still waiting on the estimate and they said we thought you were going with another company so they never sent the estimate. In that email they quoted me a price of $1,400 but did not include an itemized quote. Bottom line, Alden Roofing's customer service has gone downhill and I don't recommend them due to their lack of communication. read more

Alden Roofing did a poor roof repair a few years back on our 2 flat roofs. They left the stucco exposed for a month, it poured and the water seeped in through the walls and light fixtures. When the Hurricane Harvey came, we were awakened by multiple water drippings from the ceiling in our bedroom. We had to place many bucket, pans, whatever we can find to avoid more damage to our furniture. Daylight came, I started to call different companies and because of damages that Harvey caused, many companies are booked. Alden Roofing did answer answered my prayer and told me they will fit me in between all the other appointments. They came during the little time that rain stopped and fixed the problem. Bonus point, without asking they even check for other possible entry for the future leak and sealed them up, since there are many more days of rain we will get. Alden Roofing/Resteration Builders I had Alden Roofing put a new roof on my home a couple years ago, and it was great. Then the hail storm in Pflugerville in April 2021 destroyed our new roof and we called Alden Roofing again. I can not believe how different our experience has been. Once we filed our claim and they got the money from the insurance company, we did not hear from them for months. Our project manager, Chase, did not return our calls, ever! I would only hear from him when I called the office to complain. He always had an excuse, made promises, and then did not follow up on the promises. Finally in August they put on a new roof, but there was no project manager or supervisor on site, and no one to inspect the job. When I finally got to speak with Chase he said he would check. One he did, he was here maybe 5 minutes, then said all was fine, He had not been here long enough to look over the whole roof. They have collected all the money from the insurance company, but still have not replaced the gutters. Again, I can not get hold of Chase. Also, Solar Tex came in and repaired the solar tubes on my home, and they have not been paid months later and are now billing us, tho Alden has been paid for that part of the job. 9 years ago, apparently just for hail season, Alden had an office in the Denver area. It doesn't look as though they are in Colorado anymore, but I would not recommend them outside their service area. I don't know how they are in Texas, but they did a horrible job on my roof after a major hail storm here. Use a roofer within your own area who uses the same crews regularly. I learned this the hard way. Even though Alden was known by my insurance adjuster, they were probably known for their work in Texas. The lowdown: They didn't put in enough vents. They did a crappy job of flashing, to the point that I had leaking and warping on my soffits all around the house. And, they didn't finish a connection that wasn't discovered until I had an energy audit a couple years later. They sent a local contractor to fix that when I called, to their credit, but it shouldn't have been missed in the first place. My guess is that they hired people who had no roofing experience and didn't supervise them or train them properly. They also took a lot longer on the job than was necessary. I now have a basis for comparison, as we had another big hail storm this year, and i used a local company. Once they came, they were done in one day with the roof, communicated well, showed me that they knew what they were doing. Like night and day. Perhaps Alden learned a lesson as well and is staying put in their home area now. read more

They were here when the insurance inspector came out and handled any additional communications with the insurance company so I didn't have to. They did quality work, and my roof looks great. We recently bought our house and Alden Roofing was the company that repaired the roof issues noted on the inspection report. After moving in we noticed a funky smell in one of our closets and our concerns were that it may be mold and we were not sure if it was possibly from a leak in the roof or pipe within the walls. We called Alden Roofing, let them know of our concerns and they came out the same day , even though they were swamped because of the recent snow storm. Had Alden Roofing replace my roof a few weeks ago, and the entire process could not have gone smoother. This was my first roof replacement, so I was very nervous about the cost and the procedure. I called Alden for a free inspection based on their good reviews, and Clint Rarey come to get on the roof and take a look. He recommended I contact my insurance co. because he found some hail damage from who knows when. Clint said he'd come by when my insurance adjuster came, to make sure I was treated fairly by the adjuster. The insurance ended up covering everything except my deductible. Clint dealt with the insurance company directly, so I had no headaches after writing a check for my deductible. Clint explained the process from A-Z, and everything happened as he said it would. The work crew took great care to protect my driveway, lawn, and plants. They started early, and worked late, likely a 12-hr day the first day. They finished the next day. The roofing was done in a day and a half. It went exactly as Clint said it would. The owner of the company himself climbed up on the roof to do a final inspection, and ask me if I had any concerns. This is a rating for a hole in the roof caused by squirrels that apparently lived under my roof. They were responsive, friendly and they came out quick. Problem nowadays in the Austin area is that many do not show or respond. I guess a problem of supply and demand. I cannot rate the quality of the work they have done because it is on the roof where I cannot see it. I assume they did a good job. Time will tell. Now the reason I only gave them two stars. They charged me $1360 for 2.5 hours of work with litte material used. I find that excessive and feel greatly overcharged. I tried to discuss the pricing with them and they think the price is adequate. I let you be the judge. read more

I called Alden because I had a active roof leak and this summer has been unusually wet so every time it rained my chimney leaked and I was accumulating water damage inside my home. I explained I needed an immediate fix until they could get me scheduled into the books for a proper repair since everyone is so busy at the time. I had an appointment for August 4 and Chase was prompt and did the roof inspection and he told my wife that he had to consult with his chimney "guy". That was the last I heard from Chase. I called the office after ten days and talked to Ann whom I must say is an excellent person and very kind and understanding to my plight and I told her I haven't heard from Chase. She gave me his phone number to contact directly and said a text would probably be best since he was "so" busy. I texted him on Tuesday August 17 and asked what the status of the immediate repairs since nothing had been done since the initial contact. Still NO RESPONSE. Low and behold on Saturday August 21 a disheveled Hispanic man showed up at the door with baggy clothes and hat cocked off to the side and virtually unable to speak English and I don't speak Spanish trying to tell me that he's with Alden Roofing. Understand that I've had no contact with Chase "my representative" since August 4. In desperation I took off from work and just starting roofing companies from a Yelp sort and was able to find a company that was willing to come out the next day for an immediate repair to stop the water damage during our in-climate weather. We've used Alden Roofing in the past and they did a fine job so, when a new problem appeared, we called them again. Mr Alden himself came out to make the quote. We were putting our house on the market and wanted everything fixed up well enough to satisfy a buyer's home inspector. Mr Alden made a reasonable quote for us. A few days later, he contacted us again. Just to be extra cautious, he wanted to also give us a quote for the whole roof to be replaced. He advised us to wait to see what the inspector's comments were before we paid Alden Roofing to do any work, just in case the results from the lower bid wouldn't be enough to satisfy the buyers. The reason being, he didn't want us to waste our money on the small job only to then be told that the buyers insisted on a whole new roof. We gave both of his quotes for repair to our agent. As it turned out, we didn't need to do either job, the buyer was satisfied with things as they were. Mr. Alden got paid for nothing at all and we wasted no money at all. We live out of town and had them put a new roof on a rental property. Great experience using Pat Spurlin at Alden Roofing after a recommendation from another rental property owner in Pflugerville. They were initially responsive unlike several other companies we called and continued to be responsive through the whole process. The estimate provided was more competitive than any others. They worked with our insurer to get us a much better payout than initially anticipated and explained the insurance process much better than the insurance company. The entire process went smoothly, without a hitch. Daniel went through every conceivable detail when he came to bid on reroofing and guttering my house. He provided multiple samples of shingle and gutter materials, explained pros and cons of different approaches, and patiently waited as we went through several changes in color. Scheduling was a breeze. On the day of the roofing job, the large crew was on sit at 7:15 and worked hard for 12 hours. I can only compare their work to a precision military maneuver, with all members of the team working as if choreographed. The house looks superb. The cleanup was meticulous. The gutter subcontractor, whose team arrived about 10 days later, was equally efficient. Looking back on it, I can see that Daniel made a few subtle suggestions about the matching of roof color and two colors of gutters with the three swatches of sample paint colors we had already painted on a stretch of siding that markedly improved the final visual effect (the painters, a different company, came through a week before the roofers). The beginning of the process was great,until the actul work began. We were told the work would start on a certain day and it didnt start until a week later. They didnt have the correct material to finish the job and its been over 2 weeks and we received no calls to update us on progress of finishing the job unless we call and talk to 3 different people to find an answer. Roof replacement project at 19901 Needle Pine Drive, Round Rock is not going well. Started project on July 30, 2021. Today is August 30, 2021 and still not complete. Workers try to correct one incorrect installation issue , but create more. Now many of the first singles along eaves are cracked as a result of being be lifted to replace drip edge. Also some of the starter singles are torn below were the first row of shingle butt together. This will alow water to leak onto roof decking. Drip edge was replaced on August 25th. Gutters were installed on August 27th. In my opion the gutters should not have been installed until the damaged singles were replaced. As far as I know no company rep checked the drip edge replacement work before the gutters were replaced. I slected Alden roofing for my roof replacement project based on reviews and recommendation from a couple folks in my subdivision. I have to ask the owner(s). Would you recommend your company if this was your home. I think not! read more

We needed a professional roofing company's opinion on our roof as part of the buying/selling home process. . Having never needed a roofer in this area before we relied heavily on word-of-mouth and local recommendations. It was also extremely nice that Alden Roofing does not have to be licensed in Texas, but they are. Recommendations were overwhelmingly for Alden Roofing; and they were spot on. Alden Roofing arrived on time and were courteous. They spent a good amount of time thoroughly inspecting the roof, gutters, etc. in order to form an educated opinion. After the inspection, the representative explained, in detail, the findings and even shared photos he had taken. It was very informative. Maybe what sold me the most during this no-charge estimate was that in the end they were honest in saying that the roof was appropriately aged and did not in fact need to be repaired or replaced while still explaining exactly what was going on with the roof. If I ever do need to actually replace a roof - I will be turning to Alden Roofing. read more
