Came here for lunch. What a treat! I chose Alcron to be our nice meal for the trip. Reservations were easy to make online! It's located inside the Radisson Hotel, so it's easy to find. The dining room itself is pretty small and cozy. We ordered a lovely bottle of white that was light and refreshing. For the courses, we both decided we would go with 3 courses. For my courses I chose: the marinated Scottish salmon, sea bass, and the black sesame panna cotta. BF chose: foie gras, seared scallops, and the gnocchi. We were given an array of butters as well as baked goods which were DELICIOUS. Seriously, the butters were to die for. The salmon was a delicate dish which I enjoyed. Though, I must admit I favored the foie more. It was a huge piece that was silky smooth. For the main course the fish was cooked perfectly. I loved the accompaniments of the dish. The scallops were seared perfectly and again, I favored the BF's dish just a tad bit more. The potato truffle gnocchi were like pillows of heaven! Before my dessert course, we were given a small taste of a sweet dessert that tasted good. Then panna cotta was extremely light and the mandarin sorbet made the whole dish refreshing, not heavy at all. As a parting gift, we were given chocolates and macarons to go. Service was impeccable. Extremely attentive and flawless. For the price, you can't beat it! One thing that I wasn't a fan of was how they repeatedly reminded everyone of their strictly formal dress code and those that didn't adhere to it wouldn't be allowed to dine in, which is fine. However, a couple that was wearing a plain t shirt, jeans and flip flops came in and were able to be seated. What's the point of emphasizing it if it isn't going to be enforced?

An excellent meal, and one that left us full to bursting. Came here for a lunch reservation, after a morning of touring through Prague. I didn't realize that it was located in a Radisson Hotel, which threw me for a loop for a bit, but it didn't matter because the final experience was really great, as expected for a Michelin-starred restaurant. It was also interesting to see that there were only about 8 tables, and the space was actually very small. However, it definitely made the experience better, as our servers were very engaged, and not seemingly too busy. We went for the 3-course prix fixe, which was a change of pace from our usual a la carte experiences throughout our Europe trip. My courses: Quail breast with apricot and smoked almonds: quail was excellent, and the apricot complemented the smokiness and slight gaminess of the meat. Potato gnocchi with truffle and chive emulsion: Um, this was one of the best gnocchi dishes I've had. All the textures were great, there was a huge amount of black truffle, and the chive cut through all the richness quite well. Prime beef with miso and jasmine tea potato puree: Meat was delicious, and the jasmine tea flavor really came through. That being said, it was probably the least memorable out of all courses. Service was excellent, and our servers explained everything quite well. Prices were definitely more expensive than most places in the area, but for a 3 course prix fixe, it was very reasonable at 1100 CZK (~$43USD). We were very satisfied with the portions and the flavors, so it was definitely worth it. Would be very inclined to try the chef's tasting menu, if I ever made it back. A great place for a fancy lunch or dinner, and you can be assured that because of the small size of the restaurant, more attention is paid to each individual patron. Easily one of the best restaurants we tried in Prague.

This tiny restaurant has recently been awarded a one Michelin star and it's well worth the visit. To start, make sure you make a reservation, because the room is seriously tiny, seating approximately 6-8 tables at a time. Their menu is mostly seafood-based and for dinner you can select between 3 to 7 courses within the menu. The price ranges from 35 EUR for 3 courses to 70 EUR for 7 courses without wine. If you want wine pairing then it's simply double the price. It's extremely reasonable! Lunch is selected a la carte. We got the 5 course with wine pairing and it was more food than we can handle. The food was AMAZING. Together, we tried 10 courses: - tuna tartare - langoustine with artichoke salad - imperial oyster and beef carpaccio on bed of cucumber salad - beet root with goat cheese with chocolate crumble - roast duck foie gras - red prawn with japanese bouillabaisse - sole with cottage cheese gnocchi - venison sous vide with truffle-chestnut purree and cranberry reduction - strawberry vanilla cheesecake with raspberry sorbet (It tasted more like custard!) - milk bar (cake) with coffee mousse and raspberry sorbet My favourites were the langoustine, fried foie gras, and the VENISON. GET THE VENISON!! Although the menu changes slightly depending on available ingredients, I wouldn't hesitate to try anything there.

This is a small restaurant in the Radisson hotel. At the reception in front of the restaurant we were welcomed and seated at our table. As always in this type of fine dining resturants the waiter started with a small greetings from The chef first. Thereafter we were served four different type of butter, chili, lemon, seeweed and plain butter. To the butter we could choose from 6 different kind of bread, my favorite was the parmesan and the plain chiabata. We started our dinner with the langoustine, it was fresh and tasty! Our second dish was scottish salmon and tabouleh. The salmon had a amazing texture and the combination of ginger and Malibu gelé was a pleasant suprise. The third dish was the slow cooked octopus, to me this was the least impressive dish (still good though). My absolute favorite dish that nearly made me cry of happiness was the pigeon with cacao beans. The meat was tender, the cacao sauce rich and alltogether the dish was beautifully syncronised. I sat there eating and sipping on my amarone wine forgetting everyting in my surronding... Due to the effect this dish might have on you do not order it if your company demands all of your attention. All I could say during this meal was "aha ok" and "oh my good this is so good".... Four courses into the dinner both me and my boyfriend cursed our rookie misstake, we had eaten to much bread and we just could not eat more than one final dish so we started to sharp our spoons for the dessert... I went for the hot and cold vahlrona chocolate and he for the coffe créme brulée paired with a delicious sherry. Not entierly unecpected both of the dishes was amazing and left us promising to exercise 5 days a week just to be able to countining eating... So to summarize: The waiters and sommelier was attentiv, charming and professional. This was a great dining experience and in almost all of the dishes the chef worked with different textures, unecpected combinations and different temperatures. This is one of two restaurants in prauge awarded with one Michelin star (however for march 2016 it was unsertain wether they would keep it or not...) Michelin star or not we were served some of the best dishes we ever eaten here. Do not miss this gem when in prauge! Oh sorry I forgot, of course they will give you some sweets to the coffe and a small "thank you for eating our delicious food" box as a good bye and welcome back gift.

We went all out and did the 6 course tasting menu along with the wine pairing, since my wife and I are on our honeymoon and this was our first Michelin Star experience. The food was expertly explained (in English) and the wine pairing was fantastic with a nice mix of Czech wines and French wines. Old school fancy white glove service, and while not cheap, very well priced for what you get. Even more so when compared to a similar type of place in the USA. Reservations are a must as there are only 8 tables, but that lends to the intimate nature of the place. Fantastic overall experience, highly recommended.

This place is very intimate and cozy and I think they can have only 24 guests at a time. Deservingly Michelin star, the service is great and the food is very interesting. We went for the 5 course option and the sommelier suggested the wine which was a perfect pair to the food we had. The rice pudding desert and the marinated salmon are a must try.

The best single course I've had in my life. Venison in a Port Wine Sauce

I had initially planned to visit The Alcon for dinner but in the mess of planning my travel for my 18 day European extravaganza I forgot to make a dinner reservation. Upon checking in to the hotel (The Alcon is one of a trio of restaurants within the Radisson Blue Alcon) I visited the maitre'd stand to inquire about availability and was informed that I could come in the following day for lunch anytime. The next day I headed down exactly at noon and was fortunate to be the first one seated. I pursued the menu, ordered my tap water (I drink gallons a day so I always go with tap water) and quickly chose my courses. I selected the Foie Gras to begin, followed by the house special of the day - Sea Bream, their renowned Venison, and finally the lemongrass panna cotta to finish it off. After the Sea Bream I decided to add a course, and max out on my courses getting a fifth course (the maximum on the menu for Lunch, you can have up to seven for dinner) of beef and oxtail. Prior to my ordered first course I was presented with a selection of bread as well as four different types of butter, my favorite which was the paprika and chili butter. I was also served a canapé of smoked veal tartar which was light and delicious and beautifully presented in a bowl that looked like it had ice spokes within it. After the canapé I was presented with some more bread, and then the Foie Gras, which as I understand is their most popular single menu item. It was presented on one of the most interested plates I've ever seen. The plate had ridges to allow for a river of something, followed by a significant indent in which the foie gras was placed. The presentation was magnificent and the overall taste, when combining the flavors was also great. I've never been a fan of Foie Gras but had selected it on the recommendation of the waiter and I was not disappointed. The peanut butter biscuit and small berries brought out beautiful notes in the Foie Gras. This was followed by a little bit more bread and then the sea bream. It was not listed on the menu but it was served beautifully and had a beautiful fishy flavor. It wasn't overpowering with fish but considering it was served in a landlocked country it was extremely fresh. The presentation was, beautiful and the taste great. This was followed by the venison. I'm not normally one to eat Bambi, but this was stupdenous. The best single course I've had at any restaurant anywhere in the world. Even better than o-toro at Sushi Dai. It was just that mind blowing. The meat was extremely tender and the juices, which were poured on at the table, brought out just the right flavors. I only wish I'd ordered two courses of this. My following course, which I had ordered in the middle of my dinner was a small filet mignon accompanied by an oxtail croquette. The filet was good, but not mind blowing, and the oxtail croquette was the most flavorful single item I've had on a dish ever. It tasted so strongly of red meat yet had this awesome crunch as it was a croquette. Accompanied with the accouterments of the course it was still a very good course overall. The biggest downside of this course was the odd plating. Which accompanied only 1/4 of the plate and was not centered. Not really sure what they were going at with this. Finally we approach the dessert course. For the dessert I was served a beautifully presented lemongrass panna cotta with pineapple and ginger. This dish, though extremely good was overpowered by the chances of ginger and would have been better without it. However that doesn't distract from the fact that the lemongrass panna cotta on its own was absolutely fantastic. This was the biggest "miss" of the meal, and still, it's something that i'd be extremely happy about in 99% of restaurants. I assumed the next thing to be presented to me would be my check but instead I received a fancy chocolate and if memory serves a whipped cream of some sort to accompany it. Only after this was I presented with my check, and only upon request. After I charged it to my room I was additionally presented with macaroons, I believe they were mango as after I had one of them my throat was swollen and I conked out for an hour, a similar allergic reaction to what occurs when I hate mango. The total expense including tip was around $68 USD , or the price of a low end steak at Wolfgang Puck's CUT in Los Angeles. It's amazing how much value you can get in Prague. I'll definitely head back to The Alcon on my next visit to Prague and enjoy the amazing food in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Who knows, maybe next time I won't rush through my courses and only spend an hour and forty five minutes to eat a five course menu not included the extras. My suggestion. If you're going to be in Prague make a reservation because it is definitely worth it, even if you're not staying at the Radisson Blu Alcon.

Spectacular Michelin star experience at this seafood inspired and degustation focused restaurant. Kudos to Prague's Roman Paulus for bringing together such expertly crafted dishes and transforming them into an adventure for the senses. The scopic Radisson Blu hotel harbors The Alcron, which itself is an intimate space of two dozen seats wrapped in walls decorated with alternating angular and rounded art deco shapes. The font of the restaurant's name and the old New York-glamor furnishings create a palpable 1930s feel. The service was impeccable, with the staff knowledgeably running our early dinner like a true dining experience. I particularly loved the way guests can pick up to 7 courses to fashion a tailored tasting menu for themselves at 2100 Crowns. I am not a seafood lover by any stretch of the word and find normal tasting menus quite rigid and full of fins and crustaceans. This was absolutely perfect for me. Course Breakdown: 1. The Tuna Sashimi - fresh cut pieces done different ways with a light parsley mayo made for an excellent starter with a crisped daikon slice for texture 2. Veal Tartar - delicate tube of fennel-spiced meat with coriander foam was perfectly seasoned 3. Quail Breast - a seared slice of usually gamey bird was paired with a savory, complex liver parfait that skilfully complimented the main part of the dish. Blackberries to cut through with some acidity 4. Foire Gras Escalope - rich and fatty, objectively well executed but my palate prefers a smoother mousse-like texture 5. Pigeon with Sour Cherry - a crisp, seared skin on a very rare piece, absolute perfection with the sour cherry. However, at this point in the meal the cocoa ganache-like aspects of the dish were too rich for me but objectively faultless (I should have ordered it earlier) 6. US Prime Beef - a succulent piece with a delicate miso glaze and jasmine tea flavors peeking through. Amazing We were so full we, sadly could not fit dessert in. They sounded amazing though and the staff sent us off with a of macarons as is customary.

Great food, excellent service. We had a 3 course menu experience for lunch and loved it. Every bring cooked to perfection. It's worth checking this place especially if you are staying at the Radisson Blu, which was our case. The ambiance is on the negative side, but the food is great.

The restaurant took us a little early for our reservation, which was helpful as we were tired from our day of flying and ready to get to bed. The service struck a nice balance between being attentive and not overly so. The crowd was a mix of tourists and locals enjoying a nice dinner. The vibe was casual and unstuffy. I truly could live happily on toast, boiled potatoes, fruit, and Diet Coke. I'm also both a vegetarian and someone with a fairly limited palate, so I didn't think Field would be a hit for me. WOW was this an amazing experience! First: gorgeous space. Comfy tables, set far enough apart so we didn't feel crowded, and it didn't get loud. Beautiful artwork on the ceiling. Bright. Cheery. We loved it. We are visiting our son who lives a few hours south of Prague. My husband and son are fabulously adventurous eaters and they gifted me with this outing to Field, a Friday lunch reservation at 1:30 pm. Lunch seems the perfect time to come as the restaurant was not totally booked and we had so much attention from staff, including the front desk, wait staff, sommelier, and bartender. But I'm guessing dinner would be a blast, too. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Our lead waitress was Michaela, and she was the most polished and professional server I've ever met!! We felt so well cared for. In our 3 person party we had me: a vegetarian, and our son who has severe food allergies, to peanuts, pine nuts, and most nuts. 2 of the 3 don't drink any alcohol. Amazingly, it was not a problem at all. In fact, they were prepared!! There was a vegetarian prix fixe menu, with both a large and a smaller option, plus we could order the 'non-alcoholic' version of the wine pairings. So we did. My son had phoned ahead to inform them about his food allergies, and Michaela and the bartender confirmed them when we were seated. The staff was so welcoming and completely knowledgeable about ingredients. They did a fantastic job keeping my son safe, like bringing out his dessert first so it would come close to the 5 other pastries that included nuts. The bartender made him a special cocktail that was hazelnut-free. The 'pesto' was made with pumpkin seeds instead of pine nuts. The staff told us the ingredients of every single dish and cocktail!! And literally showed us! Our waitress brought over a tray that included things like snails, crawfish, and artichokes, and then she told us where they'd sourced them in Czechia! Except the crawfish, as we learned they are a protected animal in Czechia, so they are brought in from Germany. We loved that part, hearing where all of these beautiful ingredients came from. I'll include a few photos from both my vegetarian and their regular prix fixe adventures. The pea soup was my favorite! My son said the deer main dish was the 'best thing I've ever eaten, in my entire life'. I didn't take photos of the non-alcoholic cocktails, but those were lovely. Especially a super fun foamy pomegranate one!
