I am so SO glad we found this place on Yelp! We went here for dinner after a long drive and a lovely day of sightseeing in Prague and we were enchanted by the tasting menu. The 5 course tasting menu was 30 euros and worth every cent. The service was perfect, attentive but not pushy. And the food was fantastic. I absolutely loved the decor, which was low key and did not take itself too seriously (the common theme of chasing errant vegetables and poultry was light hearted and made me smile.) The menu was short, and did not go into details about what each dish entailed. And that was OK, because everything was absolutely delicious. We started with a chicken liver pate with pea greens and lovely mustard and bread. Next came a savory morsel of fish (I think trout, but not sure) with a bean salad. Then a perfectly cooked beef medallion with amazing mushroom sauce and a creamy, smooth, light mashed potato. This mashed potato was extraordinary in its simplicity, creamy texture, and great taste, redefined what a mashed potato could be. I could eat this beef forever and be content. After the beef came chicken, with a ginger/carrot salad and pureed squash. This was the most perfectly prepared chicken breast I have ever had. It was perfectly juicy and moist, no dryness at all, and a texture more like a chicken thigh than a leg. It made me realize that I have been cooking chicken wrong, and inspired me to do better. After coming home, I've revised how I cook chicken, and am much happier with my life, all due to this chicken breast at Nota Bene. After all of these courses, we finished off with a very nice piece of mango cheesecake. It was quite a bit of food, but actually not too much since we were hungry and had spent hours walking around during the day. Everything on the menu was relatively simple, but extremely fresh, well prepared, and presented. It all worked together and was the perfect mix of modern and traditional. I could see elements of traditional cooking like the pate, the bean salad, the beef with mushrooms, but it was re-imagined, lighter, fresher, not greasy. Full of colors, textures, contrasts. Modern influences from both East and West. Just, sublime. I will recommend this place to anyone I know going to Prague, and will eat here any time I'm in town.

Very nice little cafe tucked away on a side road. Fills up at lunch so seems to be a local favorite. They have both Czech beers and wine. They have lunch specials- I got the linguine with red sauce which had fresh made pasta and was quite good. My wife got the lamb dish which she enjoyed. The staff here was very friendly and helpful.

This was a trendy place with a modern European twist to it located right in the I.P. Pavlova area. The decor was very nice and had plenty of seating for guests. The staff were very kind toward us. We had a group of 8 and they were able to accommodate our group right away. For drinks, I ordered a Czech Cider called 12 Prag Cider (around 70 czk). It was pretty delicious and I loved getting to try and a local cider! The also had a cute carafe for water filled with mint leaves. It was good! The menu was very limited to around 5-8 dishes, but a variety of options. It included smoked trout, salmon, chicken, duck, and pork belly. We ordered a soup which had a certain type of squash and some curry spices to it. The soup was very good! I enjoyed the combination of spices. It was around 150 czk. It also came with a basket of bread that was decent but not amazing. For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Supreme with chorizo, green beans, potatoes, a tomato purée type of sauce (all around 338 czk). It was very good! I enjoyed it a lot. I wasn't completely impressed with the tomato purée sauce, but the dish overall was really good. The chicken was seasoned well and cooked to perfection with a perfect crisp to it. It was plated beautifully! Overall, I enjoyed visiting this place. It had a great vibe to it, nice staff, and quality food! If you're ever in Prague, this place is definitely a great restaurant to try out! Also, the people in the restaurant were very awkward toward us being different. I FELT like I was different there. So that kind of made me feel like I didn't belong. Besides that, it was fine because I wanted to ignore it.

The staff was very nice. Our first night in Prague we had no idea what to order and they were very helpful. The food was so delicious, we ordered a second round. Our stomachs were not as big as our eyes. The beer and wine was also good. I give it a 4 star only because they didn't accept card. (I changed it to 5 stars because I quickly realized that most places in Prague don't accept card.)

    Red Ale and Zitna IPA!

We learned about the restaurant from a group of travel bloggers we've used for trips both in the US and globally. The restaurant is located on two floors in Henry's Bell Tower, near the Powder Tower. As some have noted, the restaurant is on the pricier side. However, the food is so well prepared that if you are in the mood for a splurge in a unique location, you should go for it. My husband, stepson, and I had three different traditional Czech entrees -- the wild boar ragout, the duck breast, and the venison with dumplings -- and all three were outstanding. Combined with a traditional Czech pils, you can't go wrong. We skipped dessert in favor of a fresh chimney cake on our walk back to the hotel. The restaurant took us a little early for our reservation, which was helpful as we were tired from our day of flying and ready to get to bed. The service struck a nice balance between being attentive and not overly so. The crowd was a mix of tourists and locals enjoying a nice dinner. The vibe was casual and unstuffy. I would recommend and would definitely go back there if given the opportunity.

I made a reservation a month in advance, but did not know I had to specifically request for tables outside on the river. When we arrived, only a few outdoor tables were taken, but was told the rest were reserved, so we were seated indoors instead. When we finished our dinner, the same few outdoor tables were occupied. I don't know why the restaurant couldn't just stagger the guests for the outdoor tables according to their reservation times.

It was my second visit to Prague so I was taking my time to see more than the "must see things." As I said, I stumbled onto the restaurant because I was taking in the park where artists were painting, people were reading and I pulled out my phone to use the Merlin app to identify birds that were singing. It was totally picturesque. But I wasn't hungry. So I regretfully moved on without eating there. Imagine the elation a few days later when someone in our group booked a dinner reservation for us at the same place I was regretting having missed! With a group of a dozen of us, I think someone ordered everything on the menu. We were all thrilled. We had appetizers , cocktails and entrees -- everything we had was great! The restaurant is family-owned and we were treated to the son being a primary server for our group. Now and then dad was part of the picture too and we enjoyed the added dynamic. Pretty sure the son is on point for Americans as his English was on point. They were great hosts!

To start I had the marinated salmon which was one of the best starters I have had. Complex flavours and textures are complimented by an appropriate chilli hit which brings the whole dish together perfectly. The coconut crumb was a touch of genius. Hubby had the fried peppers, they were 3 stuffed and fried peppers that he loved, I found the habanero too spicy for me. For mains I had the lamb, one of the best lamb dishes I have had. Perfectly cooked lamb, both sou vide and grilled. Accompaniments were delicious and the chilli hit of the perfect sauce made the dish sing. Hubby had the black pearl, love the theatre of it all...you sign a waiver and they present you with a tray of tissues, milk and vodka to ease the burn. The dish was beautifully presented. Great place if you want to try something other than goulash and the other Czech fare offered around town. Pro tip: they charge you for the bread basket if you eat a slice. It was like 10 crowns.

I truly could live happily on toast, boiled potatoes, fruit, and Diet Coke. I'm also both a vegetarian and someone with a fairly limited palate, so I didn't think Field would be a hit for me. WOW was this an amazing experience! First: gorgeous space. Comfy tables, set far enough apart so we didn't feel crowded, and it didn't get loud. Beautiful artwork on the ceiling. Bright. Cheery. We loved it. We are visiting our son who lives a few hours south of Prague. My husband and son are fabulously adventurous eaters and they gifted me with this outing to Field, a Friday lunch reservation at 1:30 pm. Lunch seems the perfect time to come as the restaurant was not totally booked and we had so much attention from staff, including the front desk, wait staff, sommelier, and bartender. But I'm guessing dinner would be a blast, too. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Our lead waitress was Michaela, and she was the most polished and professional server I've ever met!! We felt so well cared for. In our 3 person party we had me: a vegetarian, and our son who has severe food allergies, to peanuts, pine nuts, and most nuts. 2 of the 3 don't drink any alcohol. Amazingly, it was not a problem at all. In fact, they were prepared!! There was a vegetarian prix fixe menu, with both a large and a smaller option, plus we could order the 'non-alcoholic' version of the wine pairings. So we did. My son had phoned ahead to inform them about his food allergies, and Michaela and the bartender confirmed them when we were seated. The staff was so welcoming and completely knowledgeable about ingredients. They did a fantastic job keeping my son safe, like bringing out his dessert first so it would come close to the 5 other pastries that included nuts. The bartender made him a special cocktail that was hazelnut-free. The 'pesto' was made with pumpkin seeds instead of pine nuts. The staff told us the ingredients of every single dish and cocktail!! And literally showed us! Our waitress brought over a tray that included things like snails, crawfish, and artichokes, and then she told us where they'd sourced them in Czechia! Except the crawfish, as we learned they are a protected animal in Czechia, so they are brought in from Germany. We loved that part, hearing where all of these beautiful ingredients came from. I'll include a few photos from both my vegetarian and their regular prix fixe adventures. The pea soup was my favorite! My son said the deer main dish was the 'best thing I've ever eaten, in my entire life'. I didn't take photos of the non-alcoholic cocktails, but those were lovely. Especially a super fun foamy pomegranate one!
