This review is for the bakery: we came in to order a birthday cake. The bakery staff were so very helpful as we had no idea what we wanted to get, and needed a lot of help picking something for my mom's birthday party. There were able to give us a set of 20 cupcakes, decorated like a cake. They helped us pick a theme & the cupcake/cake came out beautiful! It was beyond my expectations, and the price couldn't be beat either. We received so many compliments from our party guests about the cupcakes, not just how they looked, but everyone thought they were delicious too. We would definitely recommend the Albertsons bakery for help with a custom cake! read more

It would be nice if the cashiers at this store would work with a sense of urgency, I waited in line for almost 30 minutes today, there were only three lines open at 1030 am on a Friday before Easter so that's bad scheduling on the managers part, However, cashier Meta has absolutely no sense of urgency and made the wait longer with all her chit chatting with already frustrated customers, any and all employees that walked by or even came close to her register she even further annoyed us all by singing to us and asking "Do you know what song this is?) Since this is a common problem with most cashiers at this store I'm not expecting any change But, who knows it might help. read more

Albertson's on Niblick has been my store since I moved to Paso Robles 20 years ago. I have always found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Now I no longer shop there due to their lax policy on mask wearing. They have taken many great steps to keep the store safe for shoppers and employees, but for some reason, they don't seem to care how many customers come in without masks, even when it is state mandated. Must be the place all our North County anti-maskers know they are welcome. I'll stick with Trader Joes and other stores that aren't afraid to ask people to mask up. read more

You might want to talk to your checker,Dee. He needs to say hello to his customers and smile. Not look like a stone cold meanie. I had two produce items in one bag. I try to save on using too many bags. He looked put upon when he forgot to check. I had celery and parsley in one bag which didn't need to be weighed. He saw it after I was finished paying. He didn't look too happy about that. I spend a great deal of money every time I shop here. The produce is way over priced. So I only come here when I know I can't get certain items at Food For Less. Normally I find very friendly staff here. Especially in the deli and meat department. But this guy Dee acts like he hates his job. That's all for today. read more

I have been shopping here for 8 years plus! I shop here because of all the employees minus ONE! About 3-4 months ago for some very odd reason it was brought to my attention that a Manager didn't care for me or my family. Said Manager has also stated that I should take my own groceries out to car and not ask for help especially when I have my oldest son with me. Well Mr. Big Shot Mouth Manager, would you like to see the reports from 5 specialist from my sons car accident in Jan 2016! This particular person has no information on us other than we have some friendships within the store based on our shopping here over the years. When my children and I walk in and this particular Manager is here we are made to feel very uncomfortable and basically harassed by being followed and stared at. In one incident my 8 year old caught this MAN staring at us through the window out into the parking lot while putting our groceries in the car. I got in car and called husband immediately. Since that incident there have been several more very inappropriate looks towards us while being paying customers. My 8 year old actually asks when with me if we are going to be followed when parking to shop (not acceptable)!!! BUT TODAY WAS IT! While checking out spending excess of $300.00 my courtesy clerk was purposely sought after for being with me and my family. My courtesy clerk was rudely reprimanded and what I call verbally attacked for being attentive to my families needs and in all honesty doing his job, taking care of paying customer! Isn't that job of Courtesy Clerk! This particular Courtesy Clerk in my option was attacked for being with our family and it's very apparent this Manager has personal issues with said employee. It's apparent also that this Manager has issues with everyone and really shouldn't be in the hospitality business or working with the public. Therefore, I will start shopping elsewhere for my family of five and encourage my friends and family to do the same through every social media outlet I have until said Manager is gone! He is a sick individual and I will not subject myself nor my family to such behavior. Good luck to those who encounter him! read more

She can point you in the right direction so you leave town with enough to last til the next visit. AND she will fill your telephonic order and ship it for FREE!! Finding this low-cost outlet for some out-of-reach wines for everyday drinking has me purty darn happy. The wineries hike up prices shamefully. Don't buy from them - it's highway robbery. read more

The Paso Robles Albertson's has to be by far one of the worse markets I've ever experienced. Both quality and quantity are poor, service is miserly and generally, the place could use a good cleaning. Being new to the area I thought I was doomed to have to shop at this dismal location but I was recently told that one of Albertson's competitors is also in the neighborhood. Overall this store is fine but I really have to single out the butchers as either incompetent or unprofessional. Over and over my wife comes home with packages of steaks, chicken breasts, pork chops that are nowhere close to uniform or similar size or thickness. Today it's two nice thick pork chops and one that is less than half the thickness of the others. Last time it was a giant chicken breast and a tiny one. Many times a couple nice steaks and a scrap thrown in as a third. And then there is the pork loin package with two small ones wrapped to look like one nice one. I wouldn't pick dissimilar sizes from your case this way, why do you wrap them like this? I can't produce uniform servings and cooking time has to be watched for each piece. I'm not even going to detail all of the raggedy uneven cuts they put out. No qualified professional would do this . Buy from the case or buyer beware. read more

I've been buying flowers from Albertsons for years with satisfaction. Then I bought flowers for Valentine's day and they wasn't as fresh. So I thought it was because of the demand, so I bought flowers yesterday and got them home and their where dead flowers hidden in the wrapping. We received "grand opening" discount coupons in the mail for an Albertsons out of the area. The idiot manager of this store would not honor them!!!!!!! Other area Albertsons would honor them!!! The discount coupon did not show that it was only valid at certain locations. We have not been back since....Since my wife works in SLO and we live in Paso she has MANY options for food stores to shop at and now we don't have to deal with the Niblick traffic. read more

Linda the wine steward is simply amazing. She delights in turning her customers on to obscure and reasonably-priced wines. I had heard of her from friends that live in the area and couldn't wait to come up and browse. I talked to her about the types of wine that I like and she got a feel for what would be great choices for me. I brought home two cases of her hand selected wines that we are really enjoying. Every single bottle is a hit and simply amazing. I seriously would have never tried some of these delicious wines but with Linda's background and knowledge of the local vineyards it was a no-brainer to trust every single bottle she put into the cart. read more

I've been gong to this supermarket for a few years now. I enjoy shopping here from time to time but what I cannot stand to see is the staffing issues. I love getting my meats cut here and Brian I believe is his name has done an amazing job and wouldn't go to anyone else in town! Serious. He always has a smile on his face and seems to really care for his customers but what really pisses me off is to see how busy that kid is and just watch him drown. I never see anyone else there to help him take requests. I'm retired so I sleep In and do my shopping in the afternoons so I don't see what's happening in the mornings but I can tell you what.. whoever is setting up the staff schedules needs better training. Clearly there is a major lack in management. -Is it a training issue? Who knows. Produce, bakery, and meat department has been phenomenal but there's some major staffing issues. read more

If you are in Paso for wine tasting be sure to survey the wine section here - they carry an entire aisle of just the local wines. This wine section is great place to get a feel for prices and hunt up bargains on wines from the surrounding wineries. Linda, the manager of the wine section, is really on her game. The rest of the store is a regular supermarket, better than my local Albertsons. The staff is helpful and the selections are pretty good. My only complaint is the wait times at checkout. Thankfully, the silly requirement to have an Albertsons card to get the sale price is gone! read more

I ordered cupcakes on Thursday to pick up on Friday, as we were up at Ft Hunter a Liggett and wanted to celebrate a few birthday's. I ordered just chocolate with chocolate whip and vanilla with vanilla whip. These cupcakes were high quality for a low price! Everyone enjoyed them!!! read more

Why can I not find any reviews of Sav-on Pharmacy in all of the reviews of Albertsons? Certainly somebody must notice it, in its little corner of the store. I never really did, until I had to make a move of Pharmacies due to Insurance changes. I had 2 choices; either CVS next door, which I have always found their long lines, infuriating, or Sav-on pharmacy. I chose to give Sav-on a try figuring maybe the lines might be shorter. Well the lines are shorter but there is a price to pay for that. Without going into all the details, let me just say that I am still waiting for a prescription to be filled, that was due to be filled 2 days ago. When I just now called to inquire about a prescription due to be refilled today I was told that they had no idea when that would be ready because they were about a day behind on filling their orders. Well this turns out to be strike 17 of the 3 strikes I said I would give it, when I decided to give this little corner pharmacy a try. read more

I usually do not shop here because of the high prices, but they do have good deals sometimes. This week, I wasted time gathering soup, that was supposed to be on sale, only to be told at check out, that it only covered certain ones. No where in the add did it specify that the sale price was for certain "veggie" soups. Nor was there a sign in front of the soups "on sale" that specified such a stipulation. I've been here in Paso for about 7 years, coming from the L.A. beach area. I've shopped for years and years at Albertsons Stores... Both in Torrance and in Rancho Santa Margarita, Orange County. This store in Paso is one of the nicest, cleanest, and best all around service. The manager Gary must sleep there because it is always well stocked and he seems to always be there if I ever have a question. He is a super nice person, and very helpful to his customers. I hate to have anything negative to say about the store but this incident stayed with. I went shopping the week prior to Christmas to shop big for holiday guests and to order my traditional prime rib roast. Yes, this store is always busy. Parking can be a problem and lines are long, this is true. But these are not my issues. I took my helper Juan with me because I figured I'd be using 2 carts. During my shopping Juan told me they had water in 24 pack on sale for 99 Cents. But that they were out of them and were selling the 32 pack for 99 cents. (What a deal). He got himself some and I got one pack. As we stood in line, and not up to the checker yet, with another customer at the checkout, my helper was in back of me with the second cart. It was very crowded in there. The checker yelled out at my helper in line, 3 carts back, saying loudly and rudely, "Those are not the ones on sale." Mind you she was waiting on a person in front of me at that time. Her tone was nasty and loud and I felt embarrassed for Juan. She obviously didn't know we were shopping together. Once I got up to the checker she was very abrupt with me as well. I explained what we'd been told about the water. After another disagreement with us, she then got on the phone and found out in fact we were correct. She acted annoyed and never apologized, saying, " nobody told me, again in a very sarcastic tone." Then I asked her about the roast I ordered and if I could get sale price credit when I picked it up for what I was buying at the time. ($350). She scolded me and said something about if everyone did that.... I told her I did not get my Albertsons ad and assumed it was as before, you spend $50 to get the sale priced roast. I told her I wouldn't need to spend $50 when I pick it up because obviously I bought everything I needed then. I did not know it was coupon only and no minimum purchase this time. This girl was very annoyed and could not tell me what the sale rule was. I said I will talk to Gary when he gets back, realizing he was on vacation. I asked her if he would be back before Christmas since I was picking up my order Christmas Eve day. She again rudely said, I can't tell you that. That is private information. I said, What?? And she just glared at me. Later when I got a coupon from my neighbor and saw I only needed the coupon and no minimum, I wondered why this checker didn't know this. Now I understand this job is very tiring and she was probably at the end of her shift and very tired of dealing with customers, but still, really?? A little Christmas spirit would have been so nice. Just for her information, I am in my 70's, just did a huge shopping and I was tired too. My good helper Juan did not deserve to be embarrassed like that either! I am still rating this store high because it is a nice store with normally pleasant people in it. I'm sure this was just and isolated incident. Just thought you would want to know Gary! This place is just awful. I stopped shopping here years ago but I occasionally go here to pick up vegetable items that other close by stores do not stock. They always seem to put dullards on the express check out. Today's "employee of the month" insisted on engaging every customer in spurious drawn out conversations. She took several minutes to pass out candy to children who we're waiting in line. She did not know the code for one of my items, she had to flag down three other employees to figure that one out...whatever happened to keeping a price list by the register?! She neglected to confirm the total, she seemed to be preoccupied with wiping down her work area with a rag. In the end I had to ask her to confirm the total. She also had a big Jesus button AND A big cross displayed on the front of her uniform which seemed inappropriate for a grocery store check out. If you plan to shop here, take a book with you to pass the time waiting in line. read more

Ordered cupcakes through the Albertsons website, and picked them up at my local store. Besides having an unpleasant issue with the bakery girl, who obviously isn't a "people person", the cupcakes tasted like lard. The frosting was dyed in different colors, which stained anything and everything it touched (my hands look like a rainbow!!) I will never buy anything again from there bakery! read more
