Normally head here for lunch to grab a salad, sandwich or chicken from the deli. Staff is pretty helpful and nice. However, I noticed something disconcerting about the food preparation. The sushi chef prepares the sushi in front of customers, but on this particular visit he had a cough and coughed in the direction of the sushi he was preparing. Gross. I went in to Albertsons to purchase a thank you card. When I went to the register There was no customer greeting at all. The cashier referred to me and the customer she as "something" unnatural. I was horrified. I like cashiers that are pleasant and friendly. I liked the baked goods selection, but was priced-out. I definitely would not go back for that kind of service. I lived in Mission Viejo for about 1 year and this Albertson was my go to supermarket. I have been to my share of Albertsons, but this one is my favorite! The cashiers are very friendly. The produce and meat department guys are fantastic. The produce and meat is fairly fresh. They are pretty stocked up when they offer awesome sales in the ad unlike the ones I currently live by. I always find meat products on clearance a good amount of time away from expiration. They don't try to clearance out bad meat that is expired the same day. Same with bread and dessert everything is clearanced out in a timely manner. I definitely miss shopping here! The store is kept pretty clean. read more

This review and rating is strictly in regards to their "wine sale". I find it truly misleading and false advertising when you jack up your original price for a wine so that you can give a discount on it. Case in point, Rombauer Chardonnay. It is regularly priced at Bevmo all day for under $40. You increased your original price to $55.99 to feature your discounted price for one bottle at $44.43. Beware of this location. I buy expired items from here all the time! I always check the dates on everything now but miss one every now and then if i forget to wear my glasses. I only keep shopping here because its close to where I live. I just bought some imitation crab last week that expired in Jan. This happens all the time! Check your items if you shop here. Watch the meat in the packages too. A lot of times it will have brown spots on the bottom that you dont see until you get it home and open it. I suggest buying it out of the butcher case. I give it 2 stars instead of zero because i like the staff that works here. They are all very nice. read more

I stop in at this Albertsons in Ladera Ranch from time to time when I'm in need of picking up something quick while coming the opposite way home... Big store, very clean and organized, with friendly clerks and some reasonable prices. The Produce department always displays a great selection of fresh and exotic fruits. Love their cold drink display at the front entrance; the other entrance up front seems like it wasn't intended to be an entrance but a storage area for carts. I always seem to forget and walk in that entrance then hate it when I do because it's cramped and I have to dodge shoppers exiting the store. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars. By far the worst customer service ever. I was checking out and my oranges rang up two different prices. I asked her to remove one because it was a higher price. Mind you, I picked them out of the bin as the guy was putting them out. Not my fault the oranges are mixed up, I shouldn't need to look at the sticker as I have faith the worker knows what he is doing. Instead of removing it, she feels to need to point out the numbers on the stickers as if I'm trying to steal from them. No, your guy messed up. I finally left as she wouldn't remove the item but still continued to press the sticker issue. How about apologizing for YOUR mistake instead of trying to make the customer feel bad. Seriously!! If you see and older, blonde lady in quick check, STAY AWAY as she likes to argue instead of doing what the customer ask. Kelly who was so accommodating listened to how important these flowers were to me that they need to be just so perfect and special to making my mothers day, whom really needed the gratitude and recognition.Kelly not only listened to me she nailed it to perfection she made the perfect arrangement that would compliment my gift. So we all have to go shopping to survive. To some of us it's a chore, but to me it's almost something i look forward to. Albertsons in Ladera ranch is by far one of the best grocery stores around. I've shopped other Albertsons and they do not even compare. The store is very well kept and always clean. But most important the Staff that works there are all very nice and helpful. Everyone always says hello and greets you with a smile! On busy days they have a young lady who cruises the store and ask if she can help you find anything. The meat dept is awesome and John, Ruth and everyone will help with anything and special cut stuff for you. They have a great Bakery,Produce, Deli and floral dept as well! Janet will help ya find deals in the packaged meats and cheese dept and is always super nice! Phil, Christy and all the managers always ask if they can help, and Monir,Monica,Darlene, Jose and Trudy are always cheerful and helpfull at check out! Albertsons Corp should use tis store as a model on how all there stores should be run. They treat all there customers as kings and Queens! Keep up the Great work! read more

Probably one of the least customer friendly grocery store that actually never sells what they advertise. Please stock on what you advertise.... people are not stupid to fall for this gimmick. They get you to sign up for Just For U app but never have in stock what they advertise for you to get at discount. And if they don't have in stock they won't give rain check to pay at same price or substitute. So will take my business somewhere else...,, like Trader Joe's. Terrible! Ive had it with this place! Rotten fruit. The deli food all has a film of crust over it. The lines are ridiculous. And don't get me started on the Pharmacy. The new hires at the Pharmacy are not only rude and nasty but completely clueless. I cant believe something major hasn't happened to someone ending up in a major illness or death. I've gotten other people pills, changed medications without letting me know, and been told repeatedly i am out of pills when i had more than sufficient refills. All they do is argue until the doctor calls them and confirms YES the patient should still have 9 months of refills, we just sent in the paperwork 3 months ago and you have been using it since!! Stop arguing with the customers!! They told my daughter the wrong day to begin taking her antibiotics and it screwed up a procedure she was having! I'm done, Gelsons, here i come, and the prescriptions are cheaper there anyway! read more

Staff is always friendly and helpful. Location is great, the store is always clean and the normally have enough checkout stations opened including 4 self checkout stations. Sometimes they have really good deals (10 for $10 items, buy one get one free items etc). There are other businesses and eateries in the plaza including Starbucks, Togo's, a pizza place, mailbox store, gas station, Vet, Dry Cleaners, Dentist, a CVS, Taco Mesa, a nail salon, beauty store, A bank and a Thai/Chinese restaurant. They also have 2 Red Box Kiosks inside along with a Bank of America ATM. They recently provided a recycling station outside. read more

Albertsons consistently has the best bakery out of any grocery chain.....I got a cake here for my boyfriends birthday and it was amazing! It seemed like it came from a custom cake shop....but it was Albertsons! Could of fooled me. They also make custom cakes. This store is organized and laid out nicely. The butcher area is large and has good meat quality. The aisles are large enough to navigate the large grocery carts. They have a Starbucks and Savon pharmacy inside also.....you can get a lot of shopping done in here! Sometimes there are lines for the checkers but it usually moves along quickly. There is only one other grocery store in Ladera, and Albertsons is the best in terms of customer service, quality, and product selection. read more

Yay! What an improvement in my shopping experience today! The increase of organic items, the quality of selection and the ease of having all the organic fruits and vegetables close together was a delightful change. The produce clerk walked me to the item I was looking for. I would love to see more organic meats and Siggi's 2% & 4% yogurts!! Both the checker and courtesy clerk greeted me! What a nice change!! Earlier in the summer we had a bad watermelon so bummed we needed it as a treat for an event so went back to get another and the gentleman at the costumer service stopped what he was doing and took us over to personally find us a good one! The best way to find out if it was good was to cut it open, he said! He went through 5 watermelons even an organic one! Unfortunately none of them were good. So he gave us a large precut bowl at no additional cost!! Excellent customer service!! read more

Let me start with the positives- I really like the pharmacy staff. They will really try to help you and often fill your prescription while you wait! The floral department looks and smells amazing! The negatives- the middle aged manager is horrible! I actually walked out leaving a basket of groceries behind when he was checking me out. He goes out of his way to make things difficult! I was buying detergent to donate and first he told me only 4 products per day which was fine. Then he said the other products were included in the 4 products a day and then he said only 1 coupon could be used on all of them. When I told him that was not what the coupon said he stated,"'Maam I am only following the letter of the law!" Because you know he is the grocery store police! I drove a few miles to a different Albertsons and bought all the items there, more than 4 and used coupons! I won't shop there anymore. My suggestion go to the other Albertsons or Gelsens down the street. read more

Don't really interact with the staff too much but what I've noticed is that the bakery employees seem to always be a good mood whenever I ask them to write words on my cakes. The best grocery store I've been to in the area. I just loved to this part of mission. I went to pavilions the first night, had the worst experience ever. Then Gelson's and I didn't realize how unbelievably expensive it was. And then Albertsons and I finally found a winner! I have a 2 month old and during those two months I've found about maybe 10 times to go shopping for groceries. Each time it's so hard because I have to use the stroller as he can't hold his head up to sit in the kids seat in the carts. So I'm stuck with using a tiny stroller with hooks on the side and giant ikea bags. It's so hard and I'm clearly struggling. This is the only store I've been to that has offered to help me go to my car. The cashier was so sweet, she had two baggers help me. I even forgot some things and the girl ran to get it for me and then walked me out. I was a bagger for my first job and I remember asking EVERYONE if they needed help. And I could tell sometimes it made the persons day. And now the favor was finally given back to me and It definitely made my day! I will definitely be going back to this location. They have a great selection of food and the best customer service! When you are a new Mom the smallest offerings of help make your day so much easier! I wish I knew the employees names that helped me but I didn't get them:( the cashier was a woman and there were two young girls, less than 21 I would say.
