Another great Trader Joe experience recently as I thought that I would venture over to this branch vs the one in Rancho Santa Margarita, that I normally shop at. I left my home early on a weekday and was lucky to hit mostly green lights all the way down Marguerite Parkway as it's the summertime and other shoppers were probably already at work. I ran in and stocked up on my usual items as well as a bunch of omiyage (gifts) for the relatives that were coming to town later that morning. Trader Joe's always have the best snack items to gift out to our Hawaii family and friends who don't have a TJ's. I headed over to the registers where a very friendly guy greeted me and called me over to his register to check-out, which was located near the doors. We had a great chat about Hawaii and I was off on my way. The only reason I am giving this store 4-stars is that I don't like all of the lights that I hit on the way back home and also don't care for the parking lot that their store is in. For some reason I always enter and exit thru two completely different ways as I can never tell where they are located when coming down Marguerite. I always forget to wait a traffic light or two before turning in, and ending up turning to early. Otherwise this is a decent location for people to shop at who live closer than I do. read more

I've been a frequent customer at the Mission Viejo location, and the staff is typically very nice. One of the managers, Drew, even helped me the day before my order and was wonderful. Unfortunately, my experience the next morning was the complete opposite. I had spent nearly $200 on flowers for a family memorial service, and when I tried to exchange a few unopened packs, an associate named Tracy was dismissive, condescending, and repeatedly said she couldn't take them back because "she didn't know what situation the flowers had been in" and "we could have sold these yesterday." She also insisted the store had "done me a favor" by holding them. Her behavior was so aggressive it felt like she had something personal against me, which is absurd since she doesn't even know me. I left the store in tears and will be letting friends and family know about this experience. No customer should ever be treated this way. read more

I was accidentally charged $30 extra for an unscannable barcode. I went in to have the receipt corrected, and I didn't grab her name, but the store manager with dark brown hair wearing the blue and black Hawaiian shirt was incredibly helpful, apologetic and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy, including a couple adorable Halloween canvas totes for my toddler. Trader Joe's has always been my favorite store, and this location's customer service definitely solidified that! read more

I love this Trader Joe's in Mission Viejo. The food is great and employees are so helpful. My only complaint is this: I tried to buy some more of my favorite organic sugar cones because my 4 grandsons LOVE scooping ice cream cones during the hot summers. The employee told me they were out and wouldn't get anymore till NEXT summer because it's a seasonal item. Hey Trader Joe's, it's August!! And it's southern California! And Fall doesn't begin till Sept 22 this year. And the little mini cones are ok for me, but not grandsons. It's difficult to find ORGANIC cones that don't cost an arm and a leg. Stopped in our new Trader Joe's this morning after moving from San Clemente recently. My daughter squealed with excitement upon seeing the mini shopper carts!! I told the employee Maria, who greeted us when we walked in, that we just moved to town and were so happy because our old TJ did not have the carts anymore. Long story short, we chatted for a bit and went about our shopping. FF to checkout Maria meets us at the exit of the store with a bouquet of flowers and says welcome to the neighborhood My heart could burst!!! My daughter and I lit up... thank you Maria for the very warm welcome to our new Trader Joe's! You made a lasting impression on us and your kindness and generosity needs to be celebrated!! This store is not one of their best - it can be okay and it can be terrible. They don't hire the friendliest cashiers; they don't train baggers on proper technique (fragile items get put under heavy items and get squished); management is responsive but only sometimes; expiration dates on dairy items are 48 hours away; their milk goes bad so much faster than milk from any other store, and, like all TJ, parking is a nightmare. This store is so inconsistent that I drive to other stores farther away just to not have to deal with them. read more

Very friendly neighborhood TJs! The shelves are always stocked and the staff is helpful and very kid friendly. Also the aisles are quite wide and they always have every cashier booth occupied with an employee to handle the rush of customers trying to check out. They know our 3 yr old daughter pretty well and always have a large strip of stickers for her to take home. It is something she looks forward to at the end of the our time there so its easy for us to bribe her to be well behaved for the 30 mins or so that we are on the premises. My favorite TJ location by far. Even when it's packed the lines go fast. It's always clean and the service is the best. If they are out of something I need on the shelf, the always immediately go look it up online in their system to see when they're expecting to get it back in or we'll go and check in the back to see if it's on their current shipment. They always go above and beyond for the customers. Everyone I've ever interacted with there has a great attitude and is friendly and chatty. You get the small talk chatter at the register without it holding up the line. Everyone is also really knowledgeable about the products and give recommendations or feedback if you ask them about certain items. I love that! Also for those of you who don't know Trader Joe's has great greeting cards! They're super cheap and they're very cute and unique! read more

Trader Joe's has definitely stepped up during this pandemic. I can tell that many of the employees are working harder and understandably stressed, but many of them still manage to hit the Trader Joe's level of warm, friendly service. I hope they all feel appreciated and taken care of, especially this year. Keep up the good work! Can't tell you how much nicer it is to be at Trader Joe's just because the employees there are usually cheerful and pleasant. I hope they're also treated well by customers in return. I love this Trader Joe's because even though it's still a little small for a grocery store, it's much better than the other Trader Joe's I've been to. It's bigger than the other locations, with much better space to move around and has lots more product that I've noticed. They keep up with the seasonal products pretty well and restocks popular items pretty quickly. It has much better parking situation than all of the other locations I've been to too, which helps tremendously with the stress of finding a parking spot and getting out when I need to. This would be my favorite TJ location, only for the parking situation because most Trader Joe's I've been to are excellent. read more

Today Benjamin had a incident at Trader Joe's due to his autism and severe leg restriction problem. He fell and his shopping cart went flying with his strawberries, making a mess. I immediately started picking it up when. Two beautiful workers approached to help and make sure he was ok. I proceeded to over apologize because having a autistic child and the world normally not being so nice is hard. These wonderful people have brought me to tears with their kindness today and even approached me later during our shopping to let me know that I don't need to apologize for my child here and that we are welcomed and as a early Mother's Day gift gave me flowers so appreciative towards this Trader Joe's read more

We stopped to shop at Trader Joe's on 25410 Marguerite Pkwy in Mission Viejo. It turned out to be another nice sunny day and we needed to buy some food items before the 4th of July holiday. We looked at the flowers and found a nice bouquet of flowers for the table setting. We went to the meat section a found some ground beef to make some hamburgers on the BBQ. Then the produce department and got some strawberries, also a 2 lb. bag of mandarin oranges. We stopped at the frozen foods and bought three different kinds of quiche for dinners. We also bought a 8 pack of honey wheat hamburger buns and a bag of whole wheat pita bread. The cashier was nice and friendly. We paid for our items and left the store. During check-out I asked the cashier if they were planning to revert back to only allowing a limited amount of customers in because it's becoming very over crowded in their store and people that are shopping are doing their thing and not paying attention to keeping their space from others. I clearly threw the woman off her game because she forgot to give me my $20 cashback and I forgot to grab it as I was anxious to get OUT of the store and was on my lunch and heading to another errand. When it occurred to me, I didn't have my money, I looked through the bag, my wallet and purse, found the receipt but no $20 bill. I called and spoke with what I assumed to be the manager and told him what had happened, gave him the register # and he told me to come back and they would give me my cashback. I went to the counter and a young woman by the register asked to help. I handed her my receipt and explained what happened and she got someone else to help. This woman proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions that I referred her to look at the info. on my receipt she held in her hands, to answer her questions. She then proceeds to have me wait while she's on the computer looking up something, I don't know what she's doing and I asked her if it was going to be much longer and she said it could be. So I told her, I needed to get back to work and she commented that assuming I didn't drop it (my money), putting the blame on me after I explained what took place and verified that I did not drop the money. Comedy of errors on the part of the woman that was "helping" me, to make their customer feel like they made the error. The only error I made, was walking into this store that's probably covered in Coronavirus. Will not be returning to this store. read more

I wanted to buy hummus here and I was having a hard time deciding. Looking back at forth at containers of olive hummus, regular hummus, a Mediterranean one and others on the rack, I was having trouble. I kept looking and was thinking which one should I pick? Another shopper came by and picked up the Mediterranean Hummus. I decided to copy him. Picked up some reduced guilt sea salt hummus chips to go with it. Reduced guilt is always better than full guilt, right? This was either going to work out or not, I thought. Tried the hummus and chips when I got home, both were good. I copied a smart shopper. This Trader Joe's has what other locations have: good selection of breads, dairy, juices, frozen foods, friendly cashiers, orchids, a small beauty section, wines & spirits, and lots more. Today's bright idea was to head to Trader Joe's and make a gourmet meal. I was determined to get a good bottle of Vino, find some organic selections, and make myself a decadent meal fit for a queen. Somehow this morning, I convinced myself that if I just embrace cooking; it'll embrace me and I'll be a chef extraordinaire. For this adventure, I headed up the street to a Trader Joe's I hadn't checked out yet. It's not exactly close but neither is the one I frequent off of El Toro near the Laguna Hills Mall. I think this is my new favorite location. Parking isn't a hassle, it's a bigger location with a better selection, and the aisles are wider. Yep, this is my new Trader Joe's. For my meal, I decided to pick up some chicken, artichoke lemon pesto sauce, quattro formagio, rosemary rolls, and some french berry lemonade. But while browsing, I also picked up penne arrabbiata, pasta medley stir fry, edamame, lingonberry scones, spanakopita, organic nacho cheese tortilla chips, handmade habanero tortillas, and some cheese balls. The total damage was $40 but I've got enough groceries for several gourmet meals should I ever feel the need to be a chef again. Needless to say, the meal was great. I guess I can cook but I don't know if this will become a lifelong habit or if in the process I was "embraced" by cooking. It's nice to know I have some skills in the kitchen and I can run to Trader Joe's and make a decent meal with all their lovely sauces and cheeses that are always fresh and organic. read more

I didn't shop here when I lived in Mission Viejo or Wagon Wheel however now, I've been here a few times. I love their snack section! Everything from chips to fruits and frozen desserts! Stopped off to pick up some Yogurt as snacks as for some reason, I really do enjoy the Trader Joe's Yogurt for $.79 even when I can get other brands at other stores for less. I also like picking up breads and sandwich meats from Trader Joe's as well. I've not tried too much else but I know there seems to be a decent alcohol section. Anyway - I know there are locations closer to me in North Orange County but for some reason I keep ending up here. read more

I prefer not to wear a mask due to health issues and they kindly escort me through the store so I will not get harassed by the people who prefer and need to wear muzzles. This Trader Joe's offered earlier hour for seniors over 65. This was so nice as I had called ahead to ensure this store had everything on my list. The employees that I asked where certain items were, helped me kindly. They had paper towels which I bought for my grandkids. They are happy. I like their 99 cent greeting cards. I don't like paying tax to the state on non-food items. Corey H. helped me a couple times, getting me a cart as I bought too many items to carry and put paper towels out for me.
