I had an incident where a spring broke destroying my left front suspension necessitating my car to be towed to Albert Auto. The servicemen quickly assessed the damage and provided me with an estimate. They obtained the necessary parts within a day and had me back on the road within two days. I am new to Cedar Rapids. I recently purchased a used car with High mileage, and wanted to make sure that everything was running well and that the car was safe to drive. I brought it to Albert auto service and asked them to look over everything and give me a list of things that may need to be addressed. I was a bit nervous, worrying that they may try to pressure me into repairs that weren't crucial. However, that was not the case. They went over with me in detail everything they were able to find during the check up, and pointed out which items were perhaps more critical than others. I did not feel any pressure to move forward with anything immediately, and was impressed with their professionalism and service-focused attitude. I have been to other mechanics shops in the past where I felt like I was being taken for a ride, and dealt with dishonestly. That was not the case at Albert auto service. I felt very comfortable there, and confident in their assessment of my vehicle's needs. I will definitely be taking my vehicles there in the future, and will recommend their service to others. My sister went in today to get a second opinion on a car repair, and the woman at the front desk was horrible to her. So rude that I would go out of my way to make sure no friends or family would ever go there again. She went in just for the quote for repairs, and when she asked them to wait on repairs (because it was more than she could afford today) the front desk woman opened the door and yelled "don't do it she can't pay" in front of the entire shop, among other things. The team working on the car were fine, but the woman at the front was just so bad that I hope none of my other friends or family decide to use their services. read more

I was referred to Albert's from a friend at work when I started having problems with my SUV starting/running. I had it towed in, but after being told that it could be a day or two before they could get to it I wasn't sure what I was going to do. Seeing that I was a bit overwhelmed, they offered me a loaner vehicle to drive while mine was being worked on. It wasn't two hours later that I received a call saying that they had found a window to work it in. They not only performed the work at a more than reasonable price, but had it back to me that same day!! The waiting area is very "new", clean & comfortable. I felt as though I was at a large dealership, minus the slimy car salesmen. Their front office staff was honest, friendly & didn't try talking over my head since I don't know a ton about cars. While on a road trip, my SUV was shaking enough to cause concern, and I needed to have it checked right away. Its always uncomfortable in unfamiliar territory to have your vehicle worked on, but turns out it was the perfect exit. I pulled off interstate in Cedar Rapids - saw a NAPA and decided to get a referral from them. A GREAT DECISION (mostly good luck) - they gave me Albert Auto's info and they happened to be within a mile or so. The staff was very friendly and helpful - even looked at my vehicle within minutes, knowing I was just passing through and on a time schedule.
