I needed a new battery. I was quoted 190.- when i got there it was 290.- What upsets me most is i asked to have them give me back my old battery as it had warranty in it yet. I've had two experiences with five seasons tire, both have been exceptional. First a few months back I had a slow leak in the tire. Dropped the tire off by itself and they fixed it for less than 20$ and put it back on for me. Second, my wife's tires were getting worn so I asked them to give me a full set. They took a look at them and determined because I hadn't rotated them, the back two had a lot left in them. They had an opportunity to sell four tires and they sold two because they're honest. I am impressed with these guys, they're easy to work with and not expensive. Well continue to use them. read more

We were in the area for vacation and had a leak in one of our tires. I read some other reviews and saw that Five Seasons Tire had made a quick repair for others. I called in the morning and they said come right in. The car was pulled in within 5 minutes of getting there and in 30 minutes we were back on the road for a reasonable price. I called the evening before I went to have 4 tires swapped on my vehicle. They said they don't schedule and to just show up. Showed up the next morning and was greeted with a bad attitude and an hour wait. A relative was going to pay with a card over the phone e which was refused. I said I think I'll take my business elsewhere and the manager ED followed me out to my car cussing at me the whole way. Until my most recent experience, I would have given five stars to Five Seasons. They have always been kind about checking the air in my tires, and they never charge. But this time two items were missing from my trunk the next day when I wanted to retrieve them. Maybe there's some other explanation, but be sure to lock up your trunk before letting them drive it into the service bay. read more

As other reviews say, great for tires, but I would not have any suspension work done there. For tires, quick and fair prices. For everything else...I had some minor work done, the parts were more expensive than other places but the labor was significantly less so I gave them a try. 6.5 months/3K miles later had an inspection and the parts they bought are shot and need replacing again, parts covered under warranty but not labor. So I have to pay the labor again and the warranty is to replace with the same manufacturer component. Best of all the counter guy gave me attitude. I would go elsewhere for anything beyond a mount and balance. read more

Honest auto shop to which to take your vehicle. Took my RAV4 with 66K miles to 1st Ave store for brakes, after hearing what I thought was the wear sensor indicating the need to replace pad. Made appointment for same after emailing them and receiving an immediate response regarding pricing. Planned to have only the pads replaced; rotors and calipers were fine from what I could tell without taking off the wheels. Tech at 5 Seasons removed wheels and inspected brakes only to determine I had 40% life left on the front pads and 60% on the back. Recommend that they NOT replace the brake pads at this time. That seldom happens, with shops wanting to up-sell real or unnecessary repairs while they have you on the rack. Five Seasons earned my future business, for sure. read more

I am extremely surprised there aren't more reviews for this place. They are hands down the best place to get tires in Cedar Rapids. Tires aren't exactly a fun thing to spend money on, no matter what you drive. I have bought 3 sets of tires here for different vehicles, and each time I have shopped around their prices can't be beat on name brand tires (I am a deal hunter, so I certainly shopped around). My favorite part is how their tire price is all inclusive - no stupid adders for tire disposal, valve stem, mounting balancing, etc. They offer free rotation without an appointment and will come out andretorque your alloy wheels the next day for free. Most places don't even mention that, but its important as the wheels shift after driving a few miles. read more

Didn't diagnose anything. Didn't check the codes. Laughed when I said Auto Zone ran the codes, but they didn't bother checking it themselves. Didn't tell me the part needed or didn't need replaced. They just replaced it. Had a 20 minute call with them the day before. I provided the code over the phone as well. They didn't diagnose anything. When I asked why they replaced it without telling me first, the guy turned around and slammed the door then hid in the shop. The same dash lights were still on after I got it back. His response "well I hope they turn themselves off." He tried to clear them by disconnecting the battery instead of actually finding the problem. Got called stupid, dumb, idiot at the desk inside. I also asked "stupid questions." One of the workers also made the comment "I have your info." After disputing the charges for replacing a part that didn't need replaced, they held my keys. I also paid for an alignment, an alignment where my car still pulls to the left like it did before I got there. This location only caused me more problems, they didn't solve any. read more

I am not one to write reviews unless I get excellent or horrible service. Unfortunately this is the latter. My mechanic whom I trust and have used for years said that they might charge me for something I didn't need, he even told me what they would say... and he was spot on! I just had the ball joint replaced by my mechanic and I told him to make sure everything was tight and so he said it was double checked and fine. When I told him I was going to five seasons tire he said multiple of his other clients complained that five seasons were bad under their most recent management. When I went to five seasons (because I had already booked my appt) they called and said things were loose when I literally had just left my mechanic with the car and it was all fine! I stopped to see if they had a tire that would fit my truck and they were more than helpful. When I couldn't get back there with the old tire before they closed they agreed to hold the tires for me until the next day even though I hadn't bought the tires yet. Fast, great prices on nearly any brand you may want. When I had purchased 4 new rims online for them to put tires on, I also supplied new tire pressure sensors (purchased online) to put on each wheel. They Hadn't seen that type of sensor before and didn't know how to make them work. With my permission, they mounted their own kind of sensors--at twice the price I had paid! Ouch. Later that week I discovered the trick to making my online TP sensors work. They remounted the tires with my sensors (a lot of work) and reduced my bill accordingly. While they should have known how to make my sensors work in the first place, they nevertheless made it right --to my complete and utter satisfaction. A great place to buy tires! read more

I have been coming here for quite sometime and let me just say I love these guys, quick work, very professional but the last couple of times has been dreadful the guy that works at the 1st ave location is very rude, always on his phone I sat and watched him seem uninterested towards a customer while he was messing around on his phone. I think it's ridiculous for any company to allow someone to use their phone on the sales floor especially when they are engaging with customers. My family and I have been doing business with 5 seasons for years. I have also sent many a people to them as well. I usually only leave review's if they were exceptionally good or impressively bad. Today this was bad. Normally I have purchased my tires from them but I got a hell of a deal on some p-zero tires which there is no way any retail shop could match, but because I have been doing business with them for a while, I wanted them to mount and balance them. I called ahead to check if they had time and the price. They said they could get it done in my timeframe for $30/tire. No problem all is good. I load them up and drive quite a ways to get to them. I pull up and walk in and tell them I'm here to drop off the car to get the tires done. He says no problem, then I tell him I called in and the tires are in the back of the car. He then walks out to the shop and talks to someone and walks back in a proceeds to tell me that they won't be able to get it done until next week. This is Thursday.... He also said they had to get "Their" tires done first. I'm like WTF... If they wanted to be prejudice against customers bringing in their own tires then they could of told me on the phone before I loaded up the tires and drove all the way to them. What really pisses me off is that they would get it done in a flash if I bought some times from them but I guess that my brand new tires are not good enough to be done in any reasonable amount of time. So from now on I will be taking my business else where and better yet I will make as many people know as I can about this kind of BS.. read more

VERY UPSET ..... I was recently at the location on first avenue and the Saturday before I called in and spoke to someone about tires for my vehicle and was offered a Rebate for $160.00 When I came in the store to get 4 tires and an alignment I was interested in signing up for the Goodyear card the older man handed me the card application and I filled it out then a salesmen I think his name was James assisted me with the card and when he handed me the info I asked about a rebate he told me there was no rebate on those tires and I said that is the only reason I signed up for the card. He told me he was very sorry for the mistake and that he could get me some tires that had a rebate but I would have to order them and they would be in next day and said no problem we can have those tomorrow and rescheduled he left the office. I then heard yelling "Yelling I will show you yelling you F#@$ing a-hole and then heard him yell you f&$@ing Prick after hearing get your sh%t and F- ing go home I noticed the salesman who assisted me getting in his truck and leaving. I felt bad for this guy. The next day I drop my vehicle off to get the work done as I am walking to the door I hear This short man screaming at this guy who is just standing there. I peek my head in to let them know I have an appointment and was dropping off my vehicle the salesman comes out to get my phone number I sad I'm so sorry he it's okay I just wondered if this man yells at all his employees like this because it is a shame and should not be tolerated. I hope who ever it was yelling at this guy reads this and realizes that it was wrong I have no idea how anybody has had a business this long and treats his employees like this but something needs to be done. I had a horrible experience with 5 Seasons Tire on Edgewood Rd. in Cedar Rapids. They say that they all about expertise and service which is why I went there. I bought 4 new tires, and they were installed in less than 15 min. There were obviously no safety checks. I drove home in 5 minutes parked in the garage and the next day I had a flat tire. I called them, and they said 'you probably ran over something' not our problem. The roadside assistance mechanic said the tire was defective and not to put it back on. I took it in for a replacement the next day, but they wouldn't honor the warranty. They said I must have hit it (which I didn't). I insisted on a replacement and they salesman started shouting "Listen Lady....blah, blah, blah". All I could see was an orange face from a bad spray tan all contorted and shouting. They do shoddy work, put the customers life in danger, inconvenience the customer, and then blame the customer for their mistakes. No thanks. read more
