I would strongly recommend anyone and everyone to take their vehicle to Dean's Automotive for…read morerepair. I feel like the rates are competitive, the service is great, and the repair is done quickly and accurately. Being a female with less than average knowledge about the mechanically functioning thing-mo-bobs in my car...I feel that I'm easy prey for unscrupulous mechanics. I've definitely encountered this issue elsewhere in Anchorage before (a different mechanic tried to charge me $275 for a battery changeout!!). But, I feel as though Dean's is an honest place for anyone to take their car. Dean asks multiple questions on the issues I'm having, calls with possible fixes, gives accurate quotes on how much each option costs, and doesn't inflate the labor time (based on time estimates found online as well as the traditional call to my mechanic Dad in the lower 48). My car is rather advanced in age AND in problems, as I've been trying to limp it along for the last two years. So, when I'm threatened with a walk to work...I take it in to Dean. This last time the issue wasn't clear cut, but he thought it sounded like my problem was with the oxygen sensor. Dean called and asked me if he could try to replace it, they'd test it and if it didn't fix the problem, he'd put the old one back in and not charge me for the new part. Turns out the oxygen sensor did fix the problem---and the cost came in about $50 less than quoted. So---male or female, mechanical or mechanawhat....I think that everyone would be impressed with the service at Deans.

You just remove the broken parts and replace them with new ones." Well it was too damaged to be fixed, and they never called to correct themselves. Instead I waited around for a month until the day when I was supposed to come pick it up. It was only then that they said "Oh yeah, it was totaled." Would never recommend them.

Sadly, my review is missing on here. My car has been there 10 months now. My entire front end was…read moreleft off all Fall, Winter, and Spring here in Alaska. My car was new, manufactured in the USA, and had no airbag deployment. I have photos oif parts and part numbers under the hood from other brands and years. I told them to stop everything in September after seeing the first repair order that I did not authorize. I felt pressured into taking my car My insurance, Progressive, Classic Collision , although I reminded them multiple times of my correct VIN continue to send estimates and repair orders with someone else's VIN, even after acknowledging that it was wrong. I felt pressured into keeping my car there after the dealership I bought it from informed me they didn't do auto body repair. II was told the decision was mine where to take it, but Classic Collision refuses to release my car. I now have engine control system lights on and a chassis warning.. My engine control system lights and other malfunctions keep appending when they restart some weak battery, to remove and replace parts. I'm being charged $25 a day for them to "store" my car. The Anchorage Police Department won't help. My insurance provider won't help. They are in the same office building with Classic Collision. Effectively, it's like my brand new car has been destroyed and there is apparently no accountability for big multibillion dollar companies here in Alaska. I'm still paying $700 a month for my car I am approaching one year this month without my new car. I strongly encourage anyone whose insurance company, through the use of bad faith techniques, recommends you take your car to Classic Colllision, please read all the reviews and complaints on the BBB website. I don't think my review will be here long. I've noticed my earlier review floated around to another location. Any glowing reviews on a doctored website are fake. I never dreamed anything like this could happen. I worry about those who get their vehicles back with more damage. Attorneys here don't want to touch Classic Collision. We have to fight for accountability here. It's not just me. There are so many people who have been harmed by this company. Be warned!

I brought my truck to Classic Collision following an accident. Before the repairs began, I had my damaged rim evaluated by a wheel repair shop and was told that the rim was too damaged to be repaired and would need to be replaced. I relayed this information to the repair estimator at Classic Collision, who informed me that they would have the rim evaluated by their preferred wheel repair shop to determine whether a replacement was necessary. When I picked up my truck, I discovered that the damaged rim had not been repaired or replaced. Since then, I have spent the last nine months going back and forth with Classic Collision trying to get the issue resolved. Throughout this process, I have remained in contact with my insurance company, and they have consistently informed me that they are waiting on Classic Collision to order the replacement rim. I call regularly for updates and am repeatedly told the same thing: "It will be another three weeks." Nine months later, I am still hearing the same response. To make matters worse, I have had two separate tire shops tell me they could not remove my studded snow tires because the rim is in such poor condition. When you file an insurance claim and pay to have your vehicle repaired, you expect the entire vehicle to be repaired properly. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I have never dealt with a body shop that has taken this long to address an unresolved repair issue, and I feel like little to no effort has been made to correct the problem. I genuinely hope this matter gets resolved. If Classic Collision ultimately follows through and fixes the issue, I will gladly update or revise this review to reflect that outcome. Until then, I cannot recommend this shop based on my experience.
