We came around 9PM and it was the only place that would take our party of 6. Three of us wanted to order Pizza Hut they said it would take a really long time because the kitchen was backed up. The waitress was adamant about them ordering something different bc it would take too long so they didn't order pizza but our food still took like 45 minutes to come out. One of the plates was completely cold. That was disappointing. We had a few plates that were really good! Our friend who had the lasagna said he could lick the plate! We really liked the mushroom linguini, cacio e Pepe, and lasagna! We loved sitting outside and watching the night life. This restaurant is pretty slow so don't be in a rush. read more

They have a really cute outdoor back patio dining area, which was a nice surprise as it looks smaller from the outside. The Oxtail dish was delicious. I just wish the oxtail was a little more tender, but otherwise the flavor with the tomato sauce and meat was very good. Wouldn't particularly recommend this restaurant if you were in the area. Although it had a very cozy cute atmosphere, and the service was wonderful, the food was unfortunately sub par. Read on yelp they had an antipasto bar, so this is what drew us in to try out the restaurant. I was really in the mood for some meats, cheeses, and other delicious antipasto. Upon walking in, we passed the antipasto bar, and it honestly looked pretty terrible. Mostly some vegetables, didn't look very fresh at all, no meats or cheeses whatsoever. Weird. Looked as if it may have been sitting out for quite some time. For our main entrees, we ordered rigatoni carbonara and rigatoni pommodorro. Firstly, I was never a fan of carbonara, but I had tried it at another restaurant in Rome earlier in the week because it's a speciality specific to Rome. It was PHENOMENAL at the first place, and here it was really quite terrible. It was simply just drowned in Parmesan cheese... just tasted like pasta and cheese. Very poorly done. As for the pommodorro, my friend felt as if she could not pinpoint what the taste was. A dish that was supposed to be just tomato sauce was a weird mixture of possibly vodka sauce that didn't taste good either? Very weird. Side of potatoes were good, at least. Maybe some of their other dishes are better, as I saw a couple with a plate of mussels that looked delicious, but the food for us was not good, especially after being in Italy already for almost two weeks. So we are staying in an Airbnb in the Monti region of Rome. We are looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We look on Yelp and of course there's a bunch with good reviews. We walk around and check out all the menus because I wanted a certain dish. After about a half hour we ended up right in front of our place. We asked to be seated in the garden. It was nice and cool and very romantic. They had my favorite dish which was ravioli stuffed with ricotta and smothered in a sage butter. My wife had a nice steak and we had a nice bottle of Montepulciano wine. We highly recommend this place! The food was great and Francesco our waiter was very good. read more

Found this quaint restaurant just around the corner from our hotel, Rome Times. We were sat down promptly and given our menus. The waiter was very polite and understood English. It consisted a variety deferent tastes from appetizers, they have a very large anti pasta bar, seafood, beef and of course a variety of pastas. While sitting down they brought in fresh vegetables. How fresher can it be to eat that. We both had the vegetable soup. Well it was fantastic. It had a large variety of fresh ingredients in it. Next we had the beef with porcini mushrooms, salad and roasted potatoes. It was excellent. The price was fair for the fine fresh cuisine we had. When we arrived there were only a few patrons but I would say within 45 minutes the place was becoming full. What does that say about it. read more

Al Boschetto was on my list due to the fact that it was 2 blocks away from our hotel. I had a handy list of non-tourist trap restaurants to choose from. Since it was pouring rain on our first night, we popped our umbrellas and ran over to Al Boschetto. We were able to get a table easily, despite the fact that it was prime eating time. Al Boschetto has an antipasto buffet table - one visit to the buffet for 7€ per person. We decided to do this so we could sample a bunch of different appetizers. In particular, I really liked everything with eggplant or zucchini and disliked anything with meat in it. There was a zucchini lasagna-type dish that I particularly liked. We all opted for pasta as our mains since we were so filled up from the buffet table! I had the carbonara, my sister had the lasagna, and my mom had the seafood gnocchi. I really liked the gnocchi - I ended up eating most of my mom's pasta and had to take mine back to the hotel. All the pastas were cooked perfectly al dente, which I love. For dessert, my sister and I split a lemon sorbet, which is quite different than any lemon sorbet I've had here in the states. It's served in a cup with a straw because it's wetter than ours. You can, of course, use the spoon, but the straw worked perfect as well. It had a consistency of a semi-frozen pina colada. I actually found that I quite liked the consistency! read more

Great service and fast meals was exactly what we needed after walking miles in Rome! The bruschetta with Brie was amazing, followed by the soup and pasta with bacon and ragu. Quaint decor, spacious, and beautiful outside patio with umbrellas. Their bathrooms are very clean, a huge plus in Europe! Most of their clientele are people in finance and politicos because of the area we were in. We decided to sit outside on their patio and enjoy the sunny day. Kristin got their bruschetta which had perfectly toasted crunchy bread with fresh tomatoes and basil. Maggie and I got their anti-pasto buffet as a starter. Every single thing on their buffet was delicious. Eggplants, stuffed mushrooms, quiches, zucchini, portabello mushrooms, etc. I would've paid double or triple the amount just to have that as my meal. I don't think that was an option so I ordered a steak with balsamic vinegar, basil, and tomatoes on a bed of arugula. The steak was okay, a little chewy and stringy, but the flavor was there. Maggie's pounded pork dish with peppercorns and sauce was perfect in texture, flavor, and presentation. Kristin's pasta was a bland with a lot of sharp cheese. We tried their carbonara which was f*cking fantastic. It was big buttery pasta perfectly cooked, a little soft, but still had texture and bite. There was pancetta in our carbonara which added a good amount of saltiness and was a nice contrast to our creamy cheesy sauce. Is this what mac and cheese was like before it was butchered by Americans? Overall, the service was fantastic. The manager(might've been the owner) was so nice. He really took care of us and made us feel welcome. He started us off with complimentary glasses of house white wine. His English accent was perfect East coast and so I asked. He had spent some time in New York. We were so happy to be sitting ouside basking in the Roman sun. We had good food and great company. I'd definitely recommend this place for their ambiance and service. I suggest their antipasto buffet or bruschetta for a starter and their pounded pork dish or carbonara for an entree. Stick with these dishes and you are in for a real treat. read more

I should make it clear that this is not a top-restaurant, but for the prices etc I have to give them 4 stars. The pasta was great, I had the gnocchi with seafood and my date the Carbonara. The tiramisu was great as well, particularly if you're into a rich coffee taste in your tiramisu. The decor was quaint and cozy and the staff was really nice and attentive. Our group of nine had a lovely meal here. Their specially antipasti is a cured ham thinly sliced and mozzarella. Both were delicious. I had pasta with cinghiale sauce (wild boar) and it was outstanding. The roman style artichoke was perfectly prepared as well. I was so absorbed in my own meal (so selfish lol!) that I don't know what everyone else had. But I do know that everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I tried a bite of veal scaloppini and it qas just perfect with a light lemony sauce. In 2012, my family and I visited Rome, and this restaurant was recommended to us- we ate there several times during our trip and loved it. Fast forward to last week- I was in Rome again and went searching for this restaurant to see if it was still there- it was! We were greeted by the same man who had worked there 7 years earlier (I'm guessing the owner)- and the pasta was just as amazing as I remembered. The back garden is crowded and hot, but the perfect spot to stop for a meal and some wine. If I ever find myself in Rome again- I will be sure to come back! read more

We were recommended this restuarant by our hotel receptionist, but it was a total disaster. The food was pretty mediocre at best - burnt bruschetta, 'sliced' veal turned out to be pretty much just mince with a LOT of salt. The service was intermitent throughout the meal but after our mains were collected we were left for about 45 minutes without seeing the waiter, who then presented us with the bill that we hadn;t asked for yet. We weren't offered coffee of dessert either. We asked for the service charge to be removed because of this, and were met with aggression and even a threat of calling the police. The manager did not want to know why we were unhappy or what had happened, and the staff were incredibly rude. We did see 2 other tables that made complaints during the meal - minor things like the staff had brought the wrong wine - that were met with a surly and unnecessary attitude. I would not recommend this restuarant to anyone. Ever. It really ruined our evening and we left Rome still unhappy about it. read more
