First of all the restaurant in located in a small hotel with a fabulous view of the coast of the Amalfi coast. The staff is meticulous presentation from the cups to the plates. We were giving some bread and dried crackers to start with. The waiter recommended some off menu items since we were such a huge party of salt crusted sea bass with some olive zucchini and potatoes as the entree and a seafood pasta as a first course. This was the best choice we could have made. The food was absolutely delicious with so much favor and the presentation was amazing. I could not stop licking the sauce from the sea food pasta. By the end of it I was full and satisfied. The night was perfect with the attentive staff and the ambiance at the restaurant. I will definitely be coming back here. Highly recommend this place to anyone near the area.

We went in October and it didn't seem too busy at most places. We got a lovely seat with a view on their patio. The service and food was great! The restaurant itself was quiet and had a vintage hidden away feel to it. We ordered: Prosciutto and mozzarella 8/10 Seafood pasta: noodles were over cooked and soggy but flavor was great. I'll give it a 7/10 Seafood assortment: Some of the fishes were great others were too oceany like it wasn't prepared properly. 7/10 Affogato 9/10 Spritz 8/10 not bitter and prepared well Overall the food was good, some things were just hit or miss. I would go back and try some of the other options the restaurant has to offer.

The restaurant has one of the best views in Positano from the east side which is usually not appreciated as much as the west side. The whole terrace area and tableware is a pastel lover's paradise. We ordered Mezzi paccheri pasta with shrimps, lemon and basil, and Tiramisu. I absolutely loved each and every dish and especially the lemon pasta - so refreshing! The tiramisu was more like a pastry but still good.

Bus tickets can be purchased at the front desk of the hotel for 1.30 euro per person. It is the perfect location for those who want to visit both Pastiano and Amalfi. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous! We could see Pastiano on the Amalfi Coast from the balcony. If you are a brave soul and climb down all the stairs, you can also swim in the water near the cliffs. All in all, the view was simply stunning. Living 3 nights at La Locanda in itself was already an experience. The owner here is extremely friendly. When we ordered the bus tickets, he didn't even ask for our money upfront and instead insisted that we give it to him later. I have never met an owner who placed so much faith in the honor system before. He was also kind enough to let our friend stay for three nights despite the fact we booked the hotel for 3 at first. In terms of the food, breakfast is very standard with croissant, different coffee that the staff can make, and a variety of pastries. They do need more fruits. However they make it up with their omelettes, so take advantage of the proteins if you are busy hikers like us. For dinner, they have a variety of seafood. I ordered the grilled squid. It was delicious but I wished the portion size could be a bit larger. But that's Europe for you! The only complaint I have is the shower. Our shower was broken for the most of our stay. The water would turn either burning hot or freezing cold. Maybe it was just our room, but the shower was personally a little frustrating. However for the most part, I loved La Locanda. I highly recommend you to stay at this place if you are visiting the Amalfi Coast.

The Margherita pizza is €5 and has the best flavor of any pizza we've had. The other desserts won't blow you away but they're super cheap. We never spent more than €40 for dinner including wine (which was on tap). The service here is incredible and very accommodating. We felt at home every time we came in and we were very sad to leave this place behind as we went home. Overall, a ton of flavor for not a ton of cash. Thank you La Selva

The specialty here is obviously seafood, seafood pasta was bomb as well as the grilled calamari. At the bar they sell Algida ice creams as well as sun block and towels (5 euro or 10 euro depending on the size and quality). If you want you can hang out by the beach for the price of only 10 euro for 2 tanning bed and a ombrella!! Pretty good deal considering you are in one of the most expensive areas in Italy! Whenever you want to go back to Amalfi Salvatore will take you via boat - the boat service is included in the restaurant price (2 people having appetizer pasta and grilled calamari was not even 50 euro!!!) amazing!!
