This was the best choice we could have made. The food was absolutely delicious with so much favor and the presentation was amazing. I could not stop licking the sauce from the sea food pasta. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous! We could see Pastiano on the Amalfi Coast from the balcony. If you are a brave soul and climb down all the stairs, you can also swim in the water near the cliffs. All in all, the view was simply stunning. Living 3 nights at La Locanda in itself was already an experience. The owner here is extremely friendly. When we ordered the bus tickets, he didn't even ask for our money upfront and instead insisted that we give it to him later. I have never met an owner who placed so much faith in the honor system before. He was also kind enough to let our friend stay for three nights despite the fact we booked the hotel for 3 at first. In terms of the food, breakfast is very standard with croissant, different coffee that the staff can make, and a variety of pastries. They do need more fruits. However they make it up with their omelettes, so take advantage of the proteins if you are busy hikers like us. For dinner, they have a variety of seafood. I ordered the grilled squid. It was delicious but I wished the portion size could be a bit larger. But that's Europe for you! The only complaint I have is the shower. Our shower was broken for the most of our stay. The water would turn either burning hot or freezing cold. Maybe it was just our room, but the shower was personally a little frustrating. However for the most part, I loved La Locanda. At the bar they sell Algida ice creams as well as sun block and towels (5 euro or 10 euro depending on the size and quality). If you want you can hang out by the beach for the price of only 10 euro for 2 tanning bed and a ombrella!! Pretty good deal considering you are in one of the most expensive areas in Italy!
