Heard so much about Praiano and the villa Corallium where we are staying, not great. We're stuck due to rainstorm. Had no choice but to eat here. What a disappointment. The seafood medley contained all closed mussels (dangerous). The pasta was salty and bland. The bread was from the breakfast buffet. Expensive and underwhelming. Better buy food from the market

Having just spent 12 days in Italy, from Milano to Roma to the Amalfi Coast, I have to say my dinner at Franchino was the absolute best! The food was outstanding, the service impeccable and the setting unbelievably breathtaking (be sure to get a table outside). Without a doubt this was the most memorable dinner and evening of my entire trip to Italy.

Great restaurant choice in Praiano with a great view! We had the seafood soup, raw fish assortment, octopus, and paccheri pasta which were all super yummy. I would recommend this place for not only the food, but the amazing view as well! Head down to il pirate right below for drinks before or after.

The good and service were amazing. Presentation and execution of the plates were spot on. Service was very good as well. They did a good job of timing each plate. Amazing view and ambience!

    Yellow tomato risotto

The ambiance was extremely romantic. The risotto in a yellow tomato sauce with burrata was the best thing I ate in Italy on this trip!!

We were staying at Hotel Onda Verde and hadn't made a reservation for our first night in case we were too tired to go out for dinner. We decided to 'just eat at the hotel restaurant' not expecting a whole lot, but man this place blew us away. Best food we had in Praiano. Definitely make a reservation. There is a lovely covered deck right overlooking the water and also a patio with small tables and umbrellas which also has a spectacular view. We enjoyed our seats along the edge on the deck, the seats were more comfortable and it had a more upscale feel. The restaurant faces the side of Praiano to catch a wonderful sunset. The waiter provided great service and was very friendly. Gave us a great wine recommendation. We started with the seafood risotto, it was the best plate of food we had in maybe the entire trip! So much seafood and wonderful flavor. Definitely give it a try. I had the fresh catch sea bass with grilled vegetables. Great portion size, lots of freshness and well seasoned. My husband had the mixed seafood grill and it was a ton of high quality catch. Overall a wonderful dining experience, a must hit in Praiano!

To offer a menu crafted to this precision on the side of cobalt seas and rolling hills is rare. A superb margherita pizza was built (literally and metaphorically) an airy crust that had a feathery interior hiding behind a crispy, thin exterior. Rich mozzarella offers a subtle hint to the acidity of the sauce that this is not the time to be sour. A perfect medley of italian history. Washed down with a sext limoncello spritz. Soft, sweet, a touch of sour behind bubbles. The pasta superb. Octopus had excellent texture with a rich tomato sauce absorbed by perfectly prepared pasta. Every bite just as flavorful as the last. They weren't busy, so they went 50/50 on a pie for me. One had sausage, one with some eggplant and mushroom. Both were perfected. A creamy sauce melted along side the sausage. The crispy eggplant atop the other half had a lovely little crisp that gave texture to a crust of pillowy proportions. To end it all with a lovely shot of espresso and good conversation with the server was more than i couldve ever needed after such a religious experience. Come hungry, come happy. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by beautiful views of Praiano. Our waiter went over the evening specials, and the whole sea bass immediately caught our attention we're both big fans of a good sea bass. The fish was presented whole, then deboned tableside and served with roasted potatoes and olives. It was finished with a lemon butter sauce poured over the top, which really brought the dish together. We also ordered the Spaghetti alla Moressa, a pasta dish served in a fresh tomato sauce made with red and yellow tomatoes. Both dishes were good and quickly disappeared from our plates. To finish the meal, we shared their lemon cake, which was the perfect ending to dinner. Overall, the food was very good, the service was fairly decent, and the views made for a memorable experience. The only advice I'd offer is that if you're considering one of the specials, be sure to ask the price beforehand if you're not comfortable spending €100 for a whole fish.
