Heard so much about Praiano and the villa Corallium where we are staying, not great. We're stuck due to rainstorm. Had no choice but to eat here. What a disappointment. The seafood medley contained all closed mussels (dangerous). The pasta was salty and bland. The bread was from the breakfast buffet. Expensive and underwhelming. Better buy food from the market

Having just spent 12 days in Italy, from Milano to Roma to the Amalfi Coast, I have to say my dinner at Franchino was the absolute best! The food was outstanding, the service impeccable and the setting unbelievably breathtaking (be sure to get a table outside). Without a doubt this was the most memorable dinner and evening of my entire trip to Italy.

Great restaurant choice in Praiano with a great view! We had the seafood soup, raw fish assortment, octopus, and paccheri pasta which were all super yummy. I would recommend this place for not only the food, but the amazing view as well! Head down to il pirate right below for drinks before or after.

The good and service were amazing. Presentation and execution of the plates were spot on. Service was very good as well. They did a good job of timing each plate. Amazing view and ambience!

The ambiance was extremely romantic. The risotto in a yellow tomato sauce with burrata was the best thing I ate in Italy on this trip!!

We were staying at Hotel Onda Verde and hadn't made a reservation for our first night in case we were too tired to go out for dinner. We decided to 'just eat at the hotel restaurant' not expecting a whole lot, but man this place blew us away. Best food we had in Praiano. Definitely make a reservation. There is a lovely covered deck right overlooking the water and also a patio with small tables and umbrellas which also has a spectacular view. We enjoyed our seats along the edge on the deck, the seats were more comfortable and it had a more upscale feel. The restaurant faces the side of Praiano to catch a wonderful sunset. The waiter provided great service and was very friendly. Gave us a great wine recommendation. We started with the seafood risotto, it was the best plate of food we had in maybe the entire trip! So much seafood and wonderful flavor. Definitely give it a try. I had the fresh catch sea bass with grilled vegetables. Great portion size, lots of freshness and well seasoned. My husband had the mixed seafood grill and it was a ton of high quality catch. Overall a wonderful dining experience, a must hit in Praiano!

Well, it wasn't worth building a trip around it, but we did really love Amalfi Coast so in the end it worked out. As for this restaurant, I wouldn't go for dinner. Food just isn't very good. If ur in the area already (not spending crazy $ to take a water taxi or drive a distance), stop by for a cocktail. Having a drink here is worth it if you're nearby so would definitely recommend that. The bar is the only portion that's part of the cave and truly, many places along Praiano and neighboring areas r built into the cliff so it's not all that special. Unless you're arriving via water taxi, the walk to this place is a lot so wear shoes that u love to hike in-lol. We paid an additional 15Euro/pp to have VIP seating right along the water. Not worth it. U could easily sit on the patio and have equal views and experience. One of the nice things about Europe is often that they don't rush u as much as US restaurants. Not here. They were ready to grab r order immediately and when we asked to start with a drink and appetizer then order in a bit, they told us they had to put in r complete order at 1 time. Seems odd since they were able to add drinks as needed, but whatevs. The linguini with anchovy (it was more of an essence) was amazing! Would totally recommend it and we don't even like anchovies. However, everything else was meh to bad. The lamb ribs were a pile of fat and not good. The filet was really overcooked so rough to eat. The tagliatelle with ragu had almost no meat in it. Probably spent $100usd pp without alcohol and would definitely not recommend for dinner. *Tip - if you're walking back up that huge hill after drinks/dinner, stop off at the hotel just above Il Pirate and have a cocktail or dessert there. They have an elevator that will take u up to the top street that u can use if you're either a guest or dining there. I promise u it's worth the $ for the ride.
