For my first gorgeous day in sunny Sorrento, I decided that a special lunch was in order. One that immediately said, "you are in Sorrento!" While walking along the street that lines the cliff's edge, I came upon Lorelei and new this was the spot. Perched on the edge of the cliff with expansive views across the Bay of Naples to Mt. Vesuvius and to the cliffs and beach blow, it was absolutely spbreathtaking. Everything i imagined a Sorrento to look like and more! With several tables and crisp white umbrellas lining their outdoor patio, each one with unobstructed views, I chose a seat and breathed in the scene where the blue water and blue sky merge at the horizon into one. The casual yet elegant ambiance and eternal beauty before me, I nature was in a state of bliss. The menu featured several pasta dishes, of course, and also lots of salads and seafood. They offered a five course and seven course tasting menu - but that would have to wait until a different time. This time, my first lunch in Sorrento, I wanted pasta! Tagliatelle with scampi! While awaiting my meal, I enjoyed a crisp rose and some complimentary bread with olive oil. When my meal arrived, it was plated artistically. While I'm forever snapping pics, this time I just went for it delighting at every bite, every twirls of pasta in my fork. Heavenly. I lingered far longer than usual but this was not an ordinary setting. I drank it in slowly and completely. When I finally pulled myself away from the table, I knew I would return. Dinners and sunsets at this magical spot are in order!

Lorelei was one of my favorite stops on my entire trip. My husband and I both got the Lorelei set menu and also got the wine pairing to go with it. In addition to the many set courses we also got complimentary dishes before and after the meal and got complimentary wine pours as well. Service was extremely attentive and the view was gorgeous. Make sure to dress up if you're coming here! The bread was some of the most delicious bread I've had before and I also really enjoyed the raw fish dishes. A few of the set dishes weren't my favorite in terms of flavor but that's a personal taste thing and to be expected during a set tasting so it didn't take away from my experience, I still left full too. The wine pairing with each dish was perfect and some of the best wine I've ever had. It was also very high quality wine, I woke up with zero hangover which is unusual! If you are planning on coming here and doing the set menu and wine pairing prepare to spend $600ish for 2 people

Wow. The vegan menu is outstanding and the view from their patio seating is also gorgeous. My family treated ourselves to the multi course vegan lunch and we were not disappointed. The service was also outstanding. This is a Michelin restaurant after all! If your budget allows, absolutely have this experience.

Amazing, you must dine here while in Sorrento ! Loved the view. We celebrated our anniversary in Italy and Dining at Lorelei was one of our fondest memories!

This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing. We got the 8 course menu but it was really 10-12 courses. I was afraid we would not be full after the experience but it was just enough food! The only downside was we were there for almost 4 hours.

We wanted seafood because when in Sorrento...why not opt for super fresh seafood right by the coast?! Our server recommended a really delicious local red that was super reasonably priced and we enjoyed with said red: For Primi -- *Gnocchi alla sorrentina (Sorrento-style Gnocchi): I mean...we kinda had to get a regional specialty right? Gnocchi here is potato based instead. It was SO delicious - still perfect texture. They also served this HOT HOT HOT with melty cheese. So delicious and a really generous portion!! *Spaghettoni alle vongole (Pasta with Clams): Another favorite for us in general so figured a really fresh version could be stellar and it didn't disappoint! This slightly edged out the gnocchi for me flavor-wise, but the gnocchi was dang good so it just goes to show how DELISH this was!!! For Secondi -- *Grigliata mista di pesce (mixed grilled fish - this was an incredible plate of such fresh seafood. There was various fish, a giant prawn, octopus alll grilled & seasoned to perfection! *Swordfish special! -- apparently it was swordfish season and it was a 'fresh catch' and I feel like you could tell! Really lovely and nicely seasoned. Portions were very generous & we were way too full for dessert at this point! So you could probably eat more "American" style here (Just 1 entree instead of our approach), but the menu here is pretty stellar!!!

I had been bit by a crab a number of times at Amalfi earlier in the day. I decided to return the favor and had the excellent crab with squid ink pasta. I will say that the crab was a lot of work, it was also a delicious crab. The squid ink pasta itself was perfectly al dente. Added a second course of a local fish with cherry tomatoes, also delicious. Family enjoyed their dinner as well.

Since this is a tourist town - all the guests kept it casual while the fleet of workers were well-dressed and constantly 'making the rounds' for refills, food, clearing empty plates, you name it. Favorite quote came from the younger twin: "the potato caught me off guard!" - when discussing his lamb special's side, a single compressed potato that floored him. (He would mention this damn potato the rest of our vacation to anyone that would listen!) One quibble: giving us really whack (dull) knives for two dishes that most definitely needed a sharp/serrated blade. (And of course this was the one time none of the staff entered our orbit to ask/complain for something a bit more effective than a darn dessert knife.) Regardless: a (most) memorable dinner. Pro-tip: keep the young one's eyes away from the series of 'donkey' statutes when entering/exiting the front of the ristorante. (Unless you're ready to have 'the talk' with them while on vacation!)

To start, we had burrata, bruschetta and mixed salad. All were good. The salad was fresh and crunchy (with lettuce, fennel, radicchio, carrot in a light vinaigrette). The sun-dried tomato bruschetta was delicious (with soft cheese, drizzled with honey). The burrata was also amazing (tomatoes tossed in police oil and salt, surrounding a fresh creamy burrata). We had pastas (gnocchi and ravioli fungi) and chicken. I had the ravioli, which was delicate and scrumptious. Everyone enjoyed their meals, though the chicken was very simple. Finally the service! I like how staff stays by the door to welcome people in, but they don't badger people on the sidewalk to come in like other places. We're thinking of going back even though we only have a night or two left in Sorrento, it was just that good!
