catch of the day and bolognese
    Jennifer N.

So glad we found this place. We wanted a nice dinner spot that would have a sunset view but not at Michelin prices. To our surprise, this place gave us that and MORE! Reservations open 30 days out. About a week prior to your booked reservation, they email you to ask if you would need a shuttle. The complimentary shuttle is excellent considering how we could barely get a taxi in Positano. We were welcomed and brought to a table quickly after our arrival. Because our reservation was so early, we were able to pick a nice spot along the balcony to get a direct view. Service was great and the food was better. We split the house wine, grilled octopus, catch of the day, bolognese, and ended with the citrus tiramisu. Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed the freshness and char of the grilled octopus and still think about it till this day. Our citrus tiramisu was different but was delicious nonetheless. I loved how light and fresh it was. We loved this place and would recommend this to any of our friends who are looking for delicious food and great vibes!

I've eaten at Il Ritrovo on three occasions and each time the food, the exquisite service and the beautiful views exceed the previous. It is truly the best dining experience anywhere I've ever been!

My husband and I made a reservation to eat dinner here on our first night in Positano. When looking up the restaurant we noticed it was a but far from our hotel but as the day got closer to our reservation we received an email from the restaurant about their free shuttle service! So from the beginning we experienced amazing service with the shuttle service. Once we got to the restaurant we were greeted by our waiter who sat us by the window with an amazing view. We ordered the bruschetta and the shrimp as an appetizer. Both were delicious! For our main dishes we ordered the eggplant, sea bass and raviloi. The sea bass was absolutely delicious! The best was dipping our bread in the sauce as we ate it. We hope to come back here when we come back to visit!

We stayed in Montepertuso for 3 days. Ate here every day. The Eggplant Parmigiana is absolutely amazing. Service is incredible, Ambiance is charming. The appetizers and desserts are delicious too. A10/10 dining experience. Don't miss this if you eat in Positano.

    Best view in Positano!

So many great things to say! The view is so stunning and couldn't believe how fresh and tasty everything was! Beautiful atmosphere and hospitality was superb with the most friendly staff! Chef Salvatore goes out of his way to make sure you have the best experience. We had a great time!

This our first time to Italy and therefore first time to Positano. Il Ritrovo is about 10 minute walk from our Airbnb and we went there our first night and had an amazing meal! We were welcomed and the food was delicious! We had such a great experience we went there for lunch and dinner on our last day. The family works so hard and provides an amazing atmosphere and experience! We also stopped in on an in between day and bought a bottle of wine to enjoy at our Airbnb in the evening and again such a great experience! Service is top notch! Compliments from the chef are an excellent touch that makes you feel at home.

My family had dinner tonight at the Greatest restaurant in Montepertuso--Il Ritrovo. Everything about this restaurant--Food -Service -Charm-Ambiance is off the chart's amazing. Chef -Owner Salvatore Barba cooks everything to perfection + even does all of the dessert baking. We have been in town two days + have been to Il Ritrovo two straight days-it's that great! The restaurant is family owned + operated--our waiter was Paolo Barba-the Chef's brother -he made us feel like we were eating in the Barba dinning room-which was special.

Our server, Chef Salvatore, made our first experience here in Italy so incredibly amazing. The cheese, wine, bread, and ravioli that we ordered was prepared fresh and served very fast! It was most definitely the best ravioli I've ever had in my life (I'm not exaggerating)!!! All of the hosts were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. I give this place a 10/10 and if I'm ever in Italy again, I will most definitely be visiting this restaurant!

F$@%*#g fantastic!!! We had the lobster pasta, Tagliatella Ritrovo (pomodoro, funghi, salsiccia), calamari, tomahawk and t-bone. All six of agreed this was the best meal we had in Positano. We started with the calamari. Nice and crispy. The pastas were very tasty but I wished they had helped cracked or shelled the lobster more. The porter house was better then the tomahawk but both were delicious. Could not have asked for a better meal. Staff was so friendly and efficient. We almost left because the line was long, glad we stayed. A must visit if you are in the hills of Positano.

Il Ritrovo is high up in the hills and they will send a van to pick you up and drop you back of at your hotel. This was probably the prettiest restaurant that I ate at during my trip to Italy. I loved the simple and elegant all white decor and of course the views are absolutely stellar. Service and hospitality is warm and you get a lot of really nice freebies with the meal. We started off with some small comped bites of fried potatoes and bruschetta. When you end the meal you are given a frozen blended limoncello (super different from the regular limoncello that most spots served) along with a spice packet for you to make your own pasta dish at home. For an app we started out with zucchini stuffed squash blossoms. I didn't see this on too many other menus and it was super unique and different. Anything stuffed with fresh ricotta is excellent and the squash blossoms were no different. For my main I went with a sausage pasta dish. Again, sausage is something you really don't see on most other menus in Italy. I wasn't totally wowed by this, but it was super hearty and comforting. In hindsight I probably should have gone with something a little more traditional! For some unique menu items and warm hospitality in a beautiful and swanky setting this is a solid pick for dinner in Positano.

We went for an anniversary and it was spectacular. They offer a free shuttle to and from the restaurant. It's far up away from the touristy spots. BEAUTIFUL view. AMAZING food! I got a filet mignon that melted in my mouth. Eggplant appetizer was to die for. Service was exceptional from what I understand it's family owned and ran. 10/10!

Amazing! 10/10 vibe and food for sure. Everyone was super nice and I can't get over the seabass or the fried seafood. The shrimp pasta was also delicious!

Getting ready to learn some Italian classics.

Stomach growling as I was walking down Viale Pasitea (the main thoroughfare in town), multiple good options caught my eye. After some Gmaps searching (sorry Yelp, again limited and some outdated data in Europe!) their beautiful IG-able interior + stellar reviews cinched the decision for me. It's both a restaurant and retail store--the latter carries local ceramics, kitchenware and home decor, many with botanical designs--capturing that quintessential coastal vibe--colors back to white. The former takes up the remaining three-quarters of the white-washed space with about two dozen tables seating about 40-50 people. Live vines hang from parts of the ceiling, pendant lighting fixtures printed with leaf patterns echo the botanical theme from the retail displays. The aesthetic rounds out with tiled floors, light wood furniture, and pillowed banquette seating mixed with individual tables, tying in designs from the home goods store. Food is new Italian--they do carry some traditional dishes though they also have a modern Mediterranean section of the menu that adds non-traditional ingredients or techniques. They also serve a variety of cocktails, fresh-squeezed or blended juices and smoothies, and coffee drinks. Lunch with an entree and drink will run you about €35-40, which is on the higher side though par for the course compared to other similar restaurants along the Amalfi Coast. I ordered the traditional fagioli cannellini, scarola, capperi, olive e calamari gratinati €26 (cannellini beans, escarole, capers, olives and gratinated calamari). This was creamy and tasty even though it had no cheese or cream, the calamari was cooked well, just tender enough, and coated with light breadcrumbs, which I appreciated as it was baked and not deep-fried. Having minimal familiarity with dish, I can only say I thought it was outstanding, good textural contrast, not too salty. Staff was the right amount of attentive without being overbearing, and though their English was limited, they strove to answer my questions on ingredients in a few of the dishes. The restaurant was pretty busy during lunch, but I never felt rushed. Loved the atmosphere and food here, would certainly recommend!

After being tricked by tourist traps via TripAdvisor all over Rome, I'm glad we found this place! - Ambiance (Yay) was great, no tacky checkered table cloths and good amount of elbow room here - Service (€3 pp, eh) started off well when we arrived early but was VERy slow when more guests arrived - Parking @7 on Monday if you drive yourself is decent, street parking Food (YAY): - free bread (ok): haven't really had "good" bread in Italy besides pizza type dough tbh. I'm a fan of crusty Spanish bread, French croissants, etc but the bread here generally doesn't cut it - minestrone (€12, yay): lots of veggies like onions, tomatoes and potatoes, not super acidic - gnocchi (€14, yay): fresh and tangy but sweet tomatoes, perfectly cooked gnocchi - sea bass (€24, yay): basically steamed, cooked in water and served with a mostly tomato-based slightly thickened sauce - steak (€22, SO said yay): sans-fat, served with butter/roasted rosemary potatoes Dessert (NAY): - lemon dessert cake (€10 - meh): overly sweet filling and cake, but the cake was moist - mousse w/strawberries (€10 - BoOoo): wrongly tempted by the "made from our garden" strawberries, this was super super sweet and lost the "fresh" aspect TLDR: great views, would recommend for a romantic dinner - not the cheapest but quality ingredients and friendly overall. It was noted that the service was slow and staff not particularly friendly, so we just went in expecting that. Located right along the waterfront in Naples, the restaurant has plenty of outside seating and was on a lovely, relatively quiet, side street off the main drag, with citrus trees! We are English speakers, and while we tried to use some Italian, we were flawed, yet our server was very kind to us. We didn't find him lacking friendliness at all, he just wasn't outgoing and chatty like servers in the US can be (or maybe he was with people more fluent in Italian, who knows!). The menu is all vegan. My vegan brother was overjoyed at being able to eat everything, and the rest of us quickly found things to be excited about too. Highlights, in my opinion, included the antipasta mista platter (omg those vegan mozzarella sticks!!!), the ravioli (cooked to perfection, unbelievably flavorful and I couldn't believe there was no cheese in them!), and the grilled mushrooms (these shocked everyone at the table by tasting exactly like a STEAK!!!!). Oh, and I can't forget the amazing tiramisu we had for dessert. The service was very slow, but considering how expertly crafted and beautifully arranged every dish was, this just implied to me that they hadn't prepare much in advance, and they were making everything as it was ordered- I don't consider that a downside. Plus, during our whole time in Italy we have noticed that it's the custom to linger over a nice meal, and we are the only family we see who eats and bolts. I don't hold this fact against this restaurant at all.
