Restaurant area.

What a great restaurant and off of the beaten path. The family owned business is outstanding. Food was fantastic. We tried some different dishes on the recommendation of staff and what great recommendations they were. The restaurant was clean and very warm and welcoming. We felt like we were a part of the family. Looking forward to returning soon!

But the staff was friendly and we were able to get a seat without too much of a wait. I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars primarily because the offer something very unique. A vegetarian Ragu with seitan. This place is known for great ragu, which is meat based. But they offer a vegitarian version that was very good. I got a mushroom pasta dish that was very tatsy and filling. I could only eat half due to how filling it was. My wife got an Aperol spritz and I got an italian beer. If we were back in the area we'd likely stop back in to rty other options on their large menu.

Great restaurant, especially for their pasta dishes. He even had some sample dry pastas with him to physically show me as a little demonstration, which I thought was really nice and appreciated very much. I ended up ordering the fresh scialatielli with ragu and ricotta (€13.50), which was simple yet tasty. The fresh pasta was cooked very well with a classic preparation. They also gave a generous amount of parmesan on the side. I also tried the fresh lemonade, which was very lemony and slightly fizzy for additional refreshment. The place is somewhat small inside but I was able to get a table without any wait. The kitchen is right next to the seating area, so it's kind of cool to see the cooks right there. Overall, Tandem is a great place for pasta dishes with very friendly service.

They did order their drinks for dine in, but it appeared the baristas were confused about prepping to go drinks because they did finally put a latte on the counter for me, but it was in a ceramic cup so I had to ask for it to go. This was after I specifically stood in the to go/take away line and also specified at the order time that I wanted my latte to go. The latte was good and the price was decent for what you see in airports. Thankfully I had plenty of time to get to my gate so I was able to wait over 5 minutes for my drink, but it was a little annoying to see others that clearly ordered after me get their drinks before me. When I informed the barista of the error, they didn't really apologize or show much concern about the oversight. I don't know, maybe this was because I didn't speak Italian. One other thing to be aware of when ordering/eating pasteries here is that they are set up in a self serve container. I did not order a pastry, but while waiting for my latte, I witnessed a woman pick up one pastry with her hands, start to walk off, and then change her mind by putting her pastry back in the container (by hand again) and grabbing another one. She saw me watching her and she clearly gave zero f*#!$. I realize the US probably has much higher standards when it comes to food handling and I'm probably a germaphobe. However, in the moment I witnessed her manhandle the food, I was relieved I didn't order a pastry!

Thanks to yelp, for helping me find this gem in Naples…read more We were using our GPS to walk to this restaurant. When it lead us to a dark, corner street, I was skeptical to keep walking. I saw an arrow sign on the side of an alley wall, and a small banner which had the name of the restaurant. So we kept walking towards the alley and finally saw the place on the left side at the end of that alley. We were greeted and seated right away at the dining area downstairs. I loved the interiors and the overall look of the restaurant. All the staff members were friendly, polite, and efficient. We tried: OCTOPUS- The octopus was cooked perfectly in a very tasty sauce. O'Rrau- The meat was so tender, the ziti was cooked al dente, and the ragu was fragrant and flavorful. CANNELE A GGENUVESA- The meat was very tender, the candele was cooked al dente, and the broth was excellent. LEMON CAKE- It was fluffy, light, and deliciously tangy. If you have any doubt on whether to keep walking into that small alley or turn around, just go. You will not regret it. The restaurant was beautiful, charming, and clean. The service was great. Most importantly, the food was fantastic. Grazie mille!
