Disappointed. I…read moreread great reviews and couldn't wait to eat here. That said, the tomatoes in the Caprese salad were not ripe. After being in Positano for a week I was excited to have my last Italian Caprese salad. This was very disappointing. The tomatoes had very little flavor and were far from being ripe. The house wine was not worth the price. The ragu gnocchi was tasty with a delightful Smokey flavor but was not as light as gnocchi I had in other places. The bread was tough and stale. Service was very good! I'm disappointed for my last night in Italy but even so, we had a good time. I do think their ragu is excellent.

The food at this place was wholly mediocre and not what someone comes to Italy to have. Their house white wine was flavorless. While I liked the char on the bread, the bruschetta lacked olive oil and garlic. My wife had the ragu over manfredi, I had the genovese over ziti. Neither of our dishes were all that notable. Tandem has 7 locations in Naples and it seems they stay packed. The front desk people highly recommended it to us, and it felt like all the other people were also there on hotel recommendations. If your front desk people recommended Tandem to you, I recommend you take their suggestions with more than a few grains of salt.

Naples used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies, which was part of the Spanish Crown…read more In fact, the colours of the Spanish flag are also those of the city coat of arms. But with all this histry, it's strange that you could not find real Spanish food anywhere. Until now. Chef Carlos knows his food, and know how to bring Spanish culinary traditions to life, like his Salt Cod with spinach, raisins and pine nuts, or clams in grean sauce. And their Sangria is the only decent one in town. Small and hidden away around hte corner from the Gran Bar Riviera. I'll be back. Presto

In Naples at the end of a three week trip, tapas sounded good, so we got to the restaurant tonight…read morejust as they opened (without reservation), and got seated immediately. Just a note, I would recommend the reservation, they filled up as we were leaving. We started with a pitcher of sangria, and it was perfect. Not to sweet, just right. My wife and I had the tasting menu, and loved every dish. We had the Salmorejo, croquet of ham, chorizo, frittata of potato, and the meat paella. We could barely finish it all, and hated to leave any. We are not picky eaters, but we know good food, and this was very good. Dessert was a small truffle and a shot of liqueur. They speak good English, service was great, price was beyond reasonable. I rarely give out fives, and this place deserves every star.
