I'm told this is the place for Ragù! So we went and got our fix. It was really tasty! Don't let the small portions fool you because the dishes are flavorful and rich! For dinner, it's best to reserve a table regardless of the number in your party, especially for warm evenings. There's outdoor seating and cozy indoor seating available. The servers are great and do their ultimate best to be speedy. It's crowded! I know it's probably typical for elbow to elbow seating, but because it's small, crowded, and lively, you can't always hear your own conversation. Also, the guests beside you like to look at you and your food. The guests are good for business and shouldn't have any bearing on their service, so five stars to their food and servers. I shall return to try other items on their menu!

While I'm not a hater of pasta, by no means would it be my first choice but without having pasta in Italy I feel like I can be considered a criminal by some grandmothers. As per another suggestion by our Air BNB host (thanks angie) we arrived at Tandem. Actually we arrived at the other location first, but were told (at 730pm) that the next table would be around 1030pm but they promptly made a reservation for us at this location and after a short walk we arrived. Upon our arrival, a really friendly and humorous English speaking waiter arrived at our table and brought a little cup with a couple types of pasta, explaining to us their names, characteristics and how they were served which was very helpful. We ended up ordering the gnocchi with ragu and mozzarella, and the P or B something one which had the shape of a very big tube with Ragu and ricotta cheese and Baba to finish it off. The gnocchi was really chewy in the good way and soaked up a lot if the sauce but what really was the best was the other big tube pasta which was the cooked al dante (my first time having realy al dante) with a great chew paired with the meaty and creamy sauce was simply delicious. To finish it off we were recommended to try the baba a famous dessert of Naples which was basically a pound cake soaked in liqueur. I liked it but didn't see it as the best.

I ordered the gnocchi with ragu and provola and my husband got the rigatoni with ragu. The waiters were so helpful explaining the different dishes.

We had initially tried going to one of the other locations but it was packed! Thankfully the host was kind enough to call and get us a reservation at the closest location (this one). When we arrived there was very few people and we were seated immediately. The ambience is great at this location though. Very quaint and quiet inside. We ordered some of the Ragu as an appetizer, a pear and walnut salad, as wel as gnocchi with some of the ragu. The ragu is delectable! We didn't leave any left in our appetizer portion and it was so good on the gnocchi. My wife's salad was excellent as well. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and their house wine!

    Love the ambiance.

I, like the first reviewer, went to the sister restaurant, Tandem. Highly rated but closed when we (my co-workers and I) visited. They gave us directions to Tandem Steak and called ahead to "block" (reserve) a table for us. We loved every aspect of the place! The staff was incredible -- very good English, very helpful, described all aspects of our dinner, very responsive (they put a plush hand at each table that you can wave!), and one gentleman was the star of many videos that they produced to highlight their sauces and food. My friend from Georgia was hesitant to order steak ("I have never had a good steak in Europe!") but I talked him into to trying it and we both really enjoyed the steak. All of us had pasta and it was, true to their word, outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'll try Tandem someday (I recognized the gentleman at Tandem that helped us in the videos, too) but I'm in no hurry -- Tandem Steak is first on my list!

It was our last night in Capri and all my husband and I wanted was a special evening to commemorate…read morethe end of our wonderful holiday.... Little did we know "special" was not meant for us at the Caesar Augustus hotel restaurant. Instead we experienced a whole new meaning to the word "special" thanks to Francesco Signorini; the entitled prick "owner" at the Caesar Augustus property who acted like a spoiled 10 year old brat having a massive temper tantrum while all the hotel guests and restaurant patrons watched in horror. His tantrum was directed at US. It all started as we were lead down the steps to our table to be seated for dinner. I had requested an outdoor table with unobstructed view to watch the sunset on the terrace of the restaurant's namesake La Terrazza di Lucullo. Instead the hostess lead us past the desired location down another set of steps to a completely empty indoor room pool level that was dark and stuffy. Of course I protested and asked to be seated up at the Terrace per my request with the other diners but was told by the hostess that every table up there was for "a special reservation". I then inquired about the two outdoor tables outside the stuffy dark room and she said these were also for "special reservations". At that point I started getting upset and said, "We're special, we have a reservation... why can't we have an outdoor table that we requested"? In frustration we sat down at one of the outside tables to regroup and figure out our next move to call our hotel, the fabulous Villa Marina Hotel & Spa and speak with owner Federica Guarino. While speaking with Federica to see what she could do to help the situation, Francesco Signorini looms over us with puffed up ego and bellows, "I AM THE OWNER and you can't sit at this table! This is the Tiberius table!!" We explain the situation and instead of making any accommodation for us, he states "no no I will make a nice setting for you here at the pool". Keep in mind the pool area is totally empty and void of any restaurant ambience whatsoever. His suggestion was to make a single table out by the pool lounges for us to dine at which of course we denied. He was adamant that we take it, stating this is where his own parents (the real owners) dine. Finally after exhausting all efforts to honor our request, he finally succumbs into giving us the terrace table we wished for but that's when the tantrum happened... We were handed our menus at the table on the terrace while below Francesco Signorini set up the lone table poolside for I suppose the guests our table was intended. I think he finally realized that it was not optimal for anyone to dine there other than his parents and that's when he started shouting to us from the pool level up in front of all the terrace diners accusing me of being drunk (which he actually was) and making an enormous scene asking us if we're happy now?! I asked him to please drop it but he would not stop berating us in front of all the guests. The son of Caesar Augustus hotel owners Paolo and Patrizia Signorini should be absolutely appalled by their son's rude obnoxious behavior and total lack of hospitality as hotel guests and restaurant patrons watched in horror as he made lude gestures to my husband and I in a drunken rant to go "F"off" and ordered us to "GO!! Get out ....get out now!!! Leave .. go, go, go...!" Can you imagine?!? Francesco Signorini should be locked up for his disgusting behavior as a restaurant and property owner! We got up and left all the while he continued to shout at us and make lude hand gestures, thrusting them up and down his crotch while everyone watched stunned. Shocked and appalled we left Caesar Augustus and ended up at a restaurant we had our favorite dinner - La Zagara in Anacapri. Having only dined there once before it was so amazing how the staff knew exactly where we sat previously, what we drank, what we ate and treated us like royalty. What a stark difference in treatment!! True gracious hospitality at its finest.. La Zagora is a MUST! There are many, many beautiful places to watch the sunset in Capri. Please do yourself a favor... DO NOT go to the Caesar Augustus hotel and La Terrazza di Lucullo restaurant. They do not deserve your patronage.

Great views in a pristine setting. Try to reserve around sunset. Beautiful is an understatement.read more
