I went back for a second time in 2 days. to be honest, i think it's hard to find bad food in this region of Italy. The place is low key and has outdoor seating that looks up to a 300 year old church which frequently hosts weddings in the spring and summer. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating faces a busy road so it was noisy but the trade off is that church. The owner (Franco) is enthusiastic, speaks some English, great host. Food is excellent, well proportioned. We had the ravioli both days, the zucchini pasta in light white sauce one time. Also ordered a simple pizza to take home as I dined alone on the second night. I can't get enough of that ravioli. Costs are reasonable, about 6 euro for the pizza, 11 ish euro for the ravioli and zucchini pasta. Highly advise if you are in the Sorrento area.

This is right next to one of many churches in Sant' Agnello/Sorrento. Offers outside seating to n the shade. Variety of menu choices for all. Francisco was lovely to take care of us. He speaks English, which was a benefit to my very limited Italian. We only had lunch and our mixed salad with tuna was a decent size portion. And the typical limoncello was included before we could pay our bill. Credit cards/cash accepted.

Great, quick, and delicious. Definitely go for one of the specials, you won't regret it.

We did like the meat and cheese appetizer. The pastas were not good- the lemon pasta was so buttery and oily. The spaghetti was average.

Since it was so hot during our stay in Sorrento, we opted to sit inside. We were guided down a flight of stairs, which led to an elegant dining area that was once the 16th century wine cellar for a former monastery. There is also another flight of stairs that lead up to more seating, and the wine cellar. Once seated, we were handed the wine menu, which listed countless choices. Admitting we were in over our heads, a Sommelier, Geppino, was sent to our table. He was wonderful! Warm, friendly, helpful and extremely passionate about his role. He suggested a 2020 Chianti we thoroughly enjoyed, and which paired well with everything we ate. We were so taken with his hospitality and energy, that we took two bottles of wine home with us! My husband ordered the Raviolo for his first course, and the Beef for his second. I chose to hand my selections over to the chef, ordering the "In Our Hands" portion of the Scent of the Land. Everything that came out, was beyond fabulous. Even my husband, who is not a foodie, gave high praise. There was artistry in every presentation. Proteins were melt in your mouth tender and enveloped in savory sauces and tender pasta. Natural fats were beautifully balanced with subtle bits of acidity that left your palette satisfied yet craving for more. You could taste culinary expertise in every bite, with each plate being perfectly portioned. With each serving, it was obvious how much care the kitchen put into each dish. Service was on point, with staff constantly circling the restaurant, watching to see if anything was needed. They were friendly and engaging, and made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Il Buco served up some of the best food we have ever had. True craftmanship from beginning to end.

The chef's starter was not my favorite, very mushy textures for the burrata esque one and the octopus one, but the potato one was fine. The bread basket with an assortment of breads is delicious. The Giglio pasta with salmon comes moving which is cool, but it was also very unique and good. The catch of the day was solid. The gnocco was great, but also my vegetarian family got the dish modified so who knows what it was supposed to taste like actually lol. The tiramisu was very different but good and the tiramisu espresso martini was out of this world tbh

She said her steak was disappointing. It was "dry and stringy". But for those of us who ordered fish as our main courses, it was perfection. Maybe seafood is their strength. Absolutely LOVED the Medallion of mozzarella in carrozza on tomato coulis and black olive sand. I could have made an entire meal out of that. We then had the pasta linguine with "scapece" zucchini and burrata cheese from Monti Lattari. Highly recommend. Came out beautifully. I was too impatient to eat it that I forgot to take a pic first. It was beautifully plated though. I had the Wood-smoked red snapper fillet. It had a semolina, lemon and saffron crust, and rested upon roasted potato and basil cream. Delicious. Perfectly cooked. I took a bite of the Sea bass fillet with orange sauce and capers. The oranges are grown in the Sorrento garden. I liked the sea bass even more than my own. I've been to Sorrento 4x now and this was easily my favorite meal I've ever had here.

The atmosphere is gorgeous and a reason to visit in itself. We started with mozzarella and tomato, and some fried calamari. They give you about a pound of mozzarella, it was insane. It was the only time on my vacation that I felt uncomfortably full and had a stomach ache because we felt like we had to finish it, ha! The menu is absolutely huge which is definitely a red flag, and I even still, nothing was calling out to me. I ended up going with the lamb chops with a green salad and fried zucchini. The lamb tasted good but there was a lot of fat. The salad was literally just a bowl of iceberg lettuce with no other toppings and no dressing, and the fried zucchini never came. The server also didn't return to the table until we were done so I couldn't let him know. This is a huge restaurant with too much menu items making it hard for waiters to get to their tables in a timely manner, and even harder for the chefs to be able to put effort and care into every dish. I knew the reviews beforehand so I didn't have high expectations and therefore wasn't disappointed. If you want to visit for the ambiance and not the food, you should. Make sure you walk up to the lemon garden after dinner, it is beautiful.
