What a lovely bistro! Located close to our hotel, Renaissance Naples Mediterraneo, and close to the port as well if you're going on a cruise. Ordered the calamari and prosciutto with melon for starters and both were outstanding. The melon was very sweet which was a good complement to the prosciutto. One thing that you will notice here is where you go, the quality of their calamari is the same. Fresh and well seasoned!! Then got their grilled local fish with salt and it was done of the best seafood I've had. It was fresh and just had this simple saltiness that didn't take away from the freshness of the fish! To start this is my 2nd time in Italy. Last summer, I did Rome and most of the Amalfi Coast. This is my first time actually staying in Naples. This was my first meal in Naples and it's going be really hard to try new places because the food was so phenomenal. The service and the ambience were just delightful and perfect! Antonio is there the entire time and he makes the experience just that much better with his sincerity and his kindness, his son which I'm so sad that I cannot remember his name is a phenomenal host, attentive, kind, sincere and I have to stress sincere! As someone who unfortunately does not speak the language, my last visit here was not as pleasant as everywhere I encountered rudeness for not speaking the language! But not here! So the food is awesome! The service is awesome! If you're hungry this is definitely the place to go from the owner, to the owner son to the waitress. Very good Italian restaurant in historic center of Naples. The restaurant is small, we waited a few minutes for our table. Antonio and a server were the only ones servicing the tables. The octopus appetizer was perfect. My daughter had the lasagna and she said it was the best one she had. If visiting Naples this is a restaurant worth going to early since tables get filled by locals and tourists fast. read more

I have been going there for many years during my trips to Naples, and am remembered and treated like a friend. It's located just off of a principal street, so attracts mostly locals. Do not hesitate! EAT HERE! Sooo good! We had the Zuppa di Frutta di Mare, Calamari, Lasagne, stuffed shells with clams,and the orange dessert! Bottle of red wine was the Rossi di Montalcino from Fattoria del Barbi. Antonio was incredibly sweet and kind! You will not be disappointed. Total bill was 110 euro which is incredible considering what we ordered. We arrived right when they opened and within 30 minutes they were packed. Had a wonderful evening at this little restaurant. Service was the best that I have had in Italy. The server was almost comical--like paying for a dinner and show without the hassle of figuring out tax and tip as I would have had to in the US. We had the mixed grilled seafood (all delicious), the small fried fish (good but some small bones to be weary of) and the grilled vegetables (the potatoes in this mix were great--yeah im not really a vegetable person). The best though was the 4 euro half liter of house wine! So cheap....and not bad either. My mom also ordered a small bottle of prosecco which got her hilariously drunk. I bumped into this place by accident, and I'm glad I did. This place is tiny, 8 tables or so for 2-4 people. I had the shells with frutti di mare and it was probably one of the best dishes I had in Napoli (outside pizza, but you can't compare it). I also had the grilled whole squid, it was cooked very well, squid could be chewy. I had a typical napolitanian dessert, it was very good, the tiramisu was ok. We checked out this restaurant after waking up from a jet lagged 5 hour nap. The part owner or the owner's son possibly? Andrea I believe, was incredible. They were packed with reservations but he found a way to make room for us and gave us complimentary wine while we waited. The food was delicious, we got the Caprese, Polpo salad, Gnocchi, Veal Marsala and the Spaghetti Pomodoro. Everything about the experience was lovely and definitely our best experience of Napoli. Good food and great service. I got prosciutto e mozzarella and spaghetti alla carbonara. The prosciutto e mozzarella was a fantastic yet simple dish. I expected the spaghetti alla carbonara to be creamier than what I got but it was still a decent dish. All in all it was a great dining experience with a great waitstaff. read more

We found this place on Yelp and glad we did. We wanted to check their menu first before committing. The owner/father is persuasive and convinced us to eat there. Their son (who looked like Robert Downey Jr.) spoke to us in English but we also tried to speak in Italian which we think he appreciated. He helped us select our dishes -- linguine with seafood with a hint of lemon and mixed grilled seafood. We enjoyed our dishes. Equally we liked his manner of service - polite and positive friendly. He smiled and was patient with us. When he made a small error on our bill, we called him on it. He smiled and apologized. We laughed about it. All in all we recommend this place for the seafood dishes we ate and also the service from the father and his son. Grazie! read more

I've been by here more than 10 times in the last few years while traveling to Naples on business. The food is excellent and freshly prepared, the price is reasonable and its within walking distance from the Renaissance Hotel Mediteraneo, The Mercure Napoli and the NH Ambassador. The owner, Antonio, is a grey haired Neapolitan who greets every customer and is very friendly. The service is sometimes a bit slow but the staff are friendly and aim to please. In the summer months you can sit outside and when it's colder the place gets cozy inside. Overall one of my favorite places to eat in Naples. I can have some beer or wine, an excellent meal, some desert, good coffee and perhaps a shot of lemonchelo before I head back to my room for the night. This place was terrible. Owner of the restaurant was rude and the food tasted good initially but my friend and I ended up with food poisoning. We got diarrhea and vomited for the next two days after eating their linguine with clams and their seafood stuff shells. I would not recommend coming here. I will say the only highlight is that the carbonara didn't cause anyone to have gastroenteritis. Also if he doesn't like you he purposely gives worse service and smaller food portions. The owner Antonio is the nicest guy, who will bend over backwards to make you feel like you're right at home. The food is amazing, and for a very good price. They also have gluten free pasta!! We dined here last year when we were in Naples and I forgot to review the restaurant. We dined here two of the four nights that we were in Naples. The owner was especially helpful in suggesting our entrees and a wine for dinner. He was very personable and really happy to help us decide our selection. He made suggestions that weren't on that night's menu. One night I had grilled calamari at his suggestion and still remember it as being one of the best meals of our trip. Make reservations if your going to arrive after 8:00. We arrived about 7:00 and the restaurant was almost empty but the owner had to try to fit us in at a table that that was not reserved until 8:00-8:30. On our last night in Naples, we found a wonderful place to eat. Osteria da Antonio. I had the mixed seafood grill (5 wonderful and different items) while my wife enjoyed the scampi. Food was very reasonably priced, service was good - especially the personal touch of Andrea (the son of Antonio), and the house wine was excellent and very inexpensive.
