Away from the hustle and bustle of the main square, this restaurant is a few steps walk from the Duomo. It has a casual mom-n-pop feel, and with great food. We really liked the seafood risotto; the flavors of the sea was cooked into each risotto grain. The mixed fried seafood platter was pretty good too. My kids liked their lamb chops with pea cream and paccheri pasta with truffles. The only thing we didn't like was the amberjack fish with smoked eggplant and almonds -- it sounded interesting on the menu, but the fish lacked flavor and we weren't sure if it paired well with eggplant and almonds. I must mention the excellent service we received here! Each member of the staff, from the greeter to our server to the ones who cleared our plates, were genuinely nice. Our group had multiple allergies and the staff took sincere care to ensure that each person had safe things to eat. They took the allergen list to the kitchen and discussed how they can prepare it. With every new item they brought out, they specifically made a note to mention the ingredients so the group knew who can eat what. We really appreciated their attention to detail. Grazie mille!

Delicious and unique food! I had one of the best gnocchi dishes here. It was huge, pillowy soft, and sat on a bed of creamy pistachio pesto sauce. Inside each gnocchi was stuffed a small bit of mozzarella cheese, so it was really just ravioli. Wonderfully plated and was a uniquely deliciously dish. Would come again!

A lovely staff the accommodated diet amd a birthday. Watching how they handle trash was wonderful. Experts with winks. Food was delish. Well represented and a pride for Amalfi.

Located in the heart of Amalfi, eating at L'Abside was little being welcomed home. The service, from the host to the chef and his staff were incredible. Our first night there, we arrived late and had no reservations. The restaurant was packed, but after talking to the host for a minute he told us to wait a bit and he would see what he could do. He quickly arranged a table, inside, and close to the kitchen, and we were able to dine. And what a diner it was. The ambience and atmosphere is like no other. You feel the embrace of the Mediterranean, the niceness of the people, and then you taste the amazing flavors the chef and his team put together. Everything was exquisite! In conclusion, I can wait to go back, over and over again. Amalfi and L'Abside will forever be a yearly destination!

This was a great meal! I would definitely recommend getting reservations if you can, we were able to walk up at 8pm because there happened to be openings, but most were turned away. The location was great, it is in a beautiful little piazza a little ways up from the main square. I got the zucchini pasta, which was pretty good! Not my favorite of the trip as the zucchini was a little overpowering, but still good. The ravioli was delicious! And the lamb chops were as well. We would go back!

My girlfriend and I showed up at 9pm on a week day and the entire patio was full. We walk up and they ask if I had one, I say no. They say sorry, we're full for the night. I thought no way!! Oh well, but then a sever came up and asked if we're were okay with an inside table. I said of course! I was so happy to get seated because I knew we were in for a treat, and it did not disappoint. They had three specials for the night so we went ahead and ordered all three. I mean, when am I gonna be in Amalfi again? First, the octopus and shrimp carpaccio with a mouthwatering lemon sauce from fresh Amalfi lemons. We finished the plate and both wanted more. So good. Never had octopus carpaccio but I was definitely rockin with it. Next was the main two dishes: Calamarata with tuna sautéed in a white wine and onion sauce - we tasted this and were both shocked about the amount of flavor that was happening in our mouths. It was basically a tuna ragu and yes, I mopped up the sauce with bread at the end. "You could put that sauce on a flip flop and it would taste good" - Guy Fieri Linguini with lobster in a butter sauce - HUGE pieces of juicy lobster and and perfectly cooked linguini. I had been craving lobster the whole trip and this dish hit the spot. I also mopped this plate up with the bread. That's how good they were. We agreed this was the best meal we had in Italy, and that's saying a lot because we also went to Milan, Rome and Naples.

Great service and very friendly staff. We enjoyed the ambience once the sunset. Great food and enjoyed the local wine too! We'd recommend it!

This was one of the best meals I have ever had and, given my history, that's saying something! The ambiance, the food, and the service (Andrea & Sara in particular) is truly outstanding. We broke our budget a bit as we couldn't choose among the incredible fish, pasta, & risotto options, but everything was simply fabulous!!!

Our absolute favorite dinner during our Amalfi Coast trip. Luckily, we walked up as soon as they opened and were able to secure a table inside as they were completely booked for outside dining. We watched a number of people turned away throughout our meal so I highly recommend reservations. My husband and I shared a ragu to start which was the best ragu I had during our trip to Italy. The restaurant was nice enough to split the portion ahead of time. Then, we shared the beef tenderloin. Absolutely delicious with the bitter, salty rocket. To finish it off, we had the chocolate doughnuts filled with cream. I would absolutely return here and recommend it to anyone visiting the area for a romantic dinner.

Great lunch spot in Amalfi located a bit off the main street. My friends and I picked a spot outside for our lunch. The patio was mostly shaded so we were quite chilly by the end of our late October lunch. The service was good and while meals do take a bit longer in Italy, this one really wasn't a time killer. Food was tasty and not overpriced. The menu has tons of options, from heavy to light. There's a lighter lunch menu as well! I chose the Ravello salad, which is basically a salad with grilled chicken (a good amount) and a plethora of Parmesan cheese! The salad was good and a welcome change from all the heavy pasta dishes I had been eating on vacation. My friends shared two dishes- linguine with seafood and a pizza. They raved about the linguine with clams dish and eagerly ate both plates. While it didn't take my favorite meal of the trip, it was good food, good service and a decent price. Skip some of the locations right by the water and crowds to find this place.

Overall the food was good. Very filling but nothing specific to point out besides the lobster linguine. Dessert... The chocolate was dark and light which was good but the bread inside is hard to describe but not for me. But maybe you will like it !

Such a friendly staff, very helpful and genuine. We had seafood pasta, chef daily suggestion and the lasagna, and everyone enjoyed their food. All decently priced (73€ with 1 appetizer, 3 mains, 2 water bottles and 2 coffees). As I used to work in restaurants, I know spotless bathroom equals spotless kitchen and staff training. Will recommend to anyone seeking quality meal in beautiful setting. This is one of the few places that makes you regain confidence that you can find genuine places that aren't trying to take advantage of tourists even in a busy area. Highly recommended. (Keep in mind they charge 2€/person for bread and cutlery, common practice in Italy).

Best restaurant in Amalfi! Best restaurant on the Amalfi coast! This is really a delightful place in the heart of Amalfi. The ambiance is great, the staff is delightful, and the food is out of this world. Went three times in four days. I loved the lasagna, risotto, clam sauce, and the deserts. Just a great time. I want to go back to get some of the specials that Giovanna mentioned to us. She is the proud proprietor so when you order Mama's Lasagna it's her mother's recipe and it is the best! Very kind and helpful. The BEST!

We did manage to throttle back and not eat all of it lol, as we wanted to still enjoy our starter and pizza. The oils provided were the perfect compliment for the bread, the salad (and the crust of the pizza). Salad was fresh and light. Pizza rolled out next and we still believe this to be the best pizza we ever had. Not heavy, but filling. The flavors were so rich and bright. Of course I had to have a local beer which paired well. The seating was outside, which was covered in an ivy like feel. It was lemon trees providing adequate sun coverage and of course looked beautiful. I ordered the lemon ravioli since I had been eating a lot of pizza and read that people enjoyed it. In my opinion, the lemon ravioli didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, it seemed a little bland and didn't really taste like there was much lemon flavor and the quantity was a little small. Cooked well though. I think I would come back again but order the pizza instead. They did have a longer wait if you didn't make a reservation. Their lemon tiramisu (8€) was definitely worth it. Very creamy and not too sweet and had more of that lemon flavor that I was looking for. I wish I had come in a group, so they I could have tried more things, but no worries that can be next time.

We started with an amuse-bouche (compliments of the chef), which was a parmesan cracker with ricotta. We shared two appetizers among the four of us - a tuna carpaccio in citrus fruit and poached eggs with black truffle. The poached egg came in a sauce that was totally delicious and mop-able with bread. The tuna was fantastic and very light. For the main, our table split the pasta stuffed with burrata and black truffle and the risotto with red shrimp in lemon sauce. Absolutely incredible! The risotto was soooo refreshing and light and cooked perfectly. The truffle pasta was full umami flavor and a flavor party. We ended with delicious desserts, my husband got the hazelnut coffee which he loved and I got a lemon assortment. This had a lemon cream brulee sort of preparation which I loved. The wines here were also fantastic and the service prompt and great!
