We ate here 3 times out of the 4 days in amalfi because we loved it so much. Yes we tried other places, this was our favorite! We loved the homemade scialatielli with clams and mussels and the sea bream fish! Had to keep coming back for more. Love the family owned atmosphere and ambience. Will recommend to family and friends and will return next time in amalfi area!

We were on a boat tour from Sorrento which stopped in Amalfi for lunch. Rather than dine on the expensive foods in Amalfi, we decided instead to walk over to Atrani and try this restaurant. The walk was treacherous, but the food was well worth! We ordered a mix from their "lighter lunch" and regular menus. From the lunch menu, we got the tomato salad as a starter for 4EUR, and a spaghetti vongole for 13EUR. We also ordered the risotto pescatore (they called it the fisherman's rice), which was slightly more expensive at 26EUR, but filled with a variety of seafood. The food was delicious! They had initially served the vongole without the sauce, but topped it with the sauce almost immediately. The vongole was salty and buttery, and the small clams were not fishy at all. I had expected the fisherman's rice to be tomato-based, but it was strong in seafood flavour. In fact, I found it resembled a seafood congee in profile. There were many pieces of octopus and squid, so the portion of seafood was quite generous. The tomato salad was simple but tasty. The menu was quite well-priced relative to other Amalfi options (though objectively still a little pricey), and the food was quite yummy with friendly service. Definitely recommend!

We spent a week on the Amalfi coast. The food and service at Savo was amazing. Lots of tourist traps and poor offerings in Amalfi and especially in Positano. This little town of Atrani had two of the best restaurants on the Amalfi coast and I'd put Savo up against any restaurant I've ever been to. Fresh pasta, incredible tomatoes, lemon pasta was incredible. I asked for a recommendation and Elia suggested the zucchini pasta which was one of the cheaper items on the menu. Where do they do that? He was right and it may have been one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Carla and Elia make you feel like family and that's very rare now a days. All around 5 stars!! I'd give 6 if I could

Loved our dinner here! Got the zucchini pasta and mixed seafood dish. This place has such a great ambience and wholesome feel to it. It is the opposite of a Taurus strap and make you feel like you're right at home.

One word for this fine establishment, buenissimo. Upon walking near, I'm greeted with a pleasant smell and the gracious hospitality of our server, a man who can only be described as a handsome Italian man. The backbone of Italy is older Italian women, and this restaurant is no exception. She was busting her butt to provide the finest and most authentic Italian experience imaginable. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience, phenomenal food, and customer service second to none, (not even Chick Fil A) look no further than the hottest ristorante in the Amalfi area.

This was our second meal in Italy, but I consider it the absolute first since it was a true sit-down with several courses, not just a quick bite of pizza. Boy, was it memorable. We had unusually chilly 50's and rainy weather our entire time in Atrani, but we still sat outside here, as they had the clear tarp and heat lamps so it was very comfortable. Service was wonderful. Starters: buffalo mozzarella & tomato with EVOO drizzle / sauteed octopus over a fresh carrot and cucumber salad. Entrees: fish of the day for two, baked in black salt, served with a seasoned lemon olive oil for pouring / side salad Desserts: almond semifreddo / chocolate cake. Paired the meal with a nice bottle of white. Everything from start to finish was impeccable, especially that addicting sauce that went over the fish. They brought the fish out twice before we ate it - once to show it raw and how fresh it was, another to show it mid-cooking in the black salt. Veggies were all fresh. We came here on the recommendation of our AirBnB host and were very impressed.

What a wonderful treat in this small Italian square. After a beautiful day walking the Path of the gods, we were hungry for a nice dinner. My wife and I tried several courses and enjoyed all of the quality food as well as a wonderful quiet atmosphere. A mixed salad, fried eggplant with a tomato sauce, shrimp scampi, pasta, catch of the day, and dessert...all was very good. Highly recommend you visit this quaint restaurant.

Food: When u eat twice at this place in a two day trips, then there must be something about it. The food is fresh and tasty. Even the breads (which are given free) are perfect beyond words given with olive oil and balsamic vinegar of modena. The best breads I have eaten in Italy so far (have been to Milan, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Naples) just to prove the point. Hospitality: the lady at the counter and the waiter both are such warm people. Seems like an amalfi trait. They are actually a family of 4. One brother and mother taking care of the management and service and the other brother and father cook that tasty food. To add to everything, even the music collection was amazing. Will definitely return when I come to Amalfi again.

Seafood tartar appetizer is world class
    Eric N.

Delicious food offered at a reasonable price by a very hard-working and friendly staff. The outside seating offers a nice experience overlooking the town piazza. The fresh seafood tartar appetizer may have been the best single dish in our 3 weeks in Italy - and that is sayin' something. So unique and tasty. The mixed seafood dish was very fresh. The fresh local fish cooked in the Amalfi style was full of flavor. The house white wine was crisp and refreshing. Cash only. Signage could have been better as I witnessed several tables scurrying to an ATM during their meal and the one ATM in the Atrani piazza is not so reliable.

Yummmm i was here in October , however i wrote the draft but forgot to post a few reviews. Love Clara the owner and lovely floor manager. Food is spectacular. So fresh from the sea. Fish was cooked to perfect. So moist and tender . The tuna crudo was so tasty and unique with its pistachio toppings and herbs. Just delightful. This is just the kind of place you can dine at many times!! I did, i ate here 5 different tomes in my 3 weeks in Atrani. It was always a pleasure. Vongole was cooked so perfect, clams were not overcooked and tasted as fresh as the sea .. pasta with cod was delicate and light with a fresh pomodoro sauce. Delicious. The house made gnocchi were pillows of amore! Just heaven almost like angels were singing. Desserts were amazing do not miss their torrone almond dessert insanely good! Carla you are an amazing host and your family so sweet! Grazie mille ~ miss you all

Eating at Savo was an amazing experience! You feel like you're in their home as they welcome you with a great meal. Their pasta is perfect and their fish was to phenomenal. Their dessert was so rich and delicious. The prices were just like around Amalfi, but the food was much better. Fine dining even with their presentation.

We did manage to throttle back and not eat all of it lol, as we wanted to still enjoy our starter and pizza. The oils provided were the perfect compliment for the bread, the salad (and the crust of the pizza). Salad was fresh and light. Pizza rolled out next and we still believe this to be the best pizza we ever had. Not heavy, but filling. The flavors were so rich and bright. Of course I had to have a local beer which paired well. The seating was outside, which was covered in an ivy like feel. It was lemon trees providing adequate sun coverage and of course looked beautiful. We would highly recommend checking out Donna Stella if you're in Amalfi.

There was a wait but they seemed to remember faces and I did get seated after about 30 minutes, though they did seem pretty busy for a Sunday night. I ordered the lemon ravioli since I had been eating a lot of pizza and read that people enjoyed it. In my opinion, the lemon ravioli didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, it seemed a little bland and didn't really taste like there was much lemon flavor and the quantity was a little small. Cooked well though. I think I would come back again but order the pizza instead. They did have a longer wait if you didn't make a reservation. Their lemon tiramisu (8€) was definitely worth it. Very creamy and not too sweet and had more of that lemon flavor that I was looking for. I wish I had come in a group, so they I could have tried more things, but no worries that can be next time.

We started with an amuse-bouche (compliments of the chef), which was a parmesan cracker with ricotta. We shared two appetizers among the four of us - a tuna carpaccio in citrus fruit and poached eggs with black truffle. The poached egg came in a sauce that was totally delicious and mop-able with bread. The tuna was fantastic and very light. For the main, our table split the pasta stuffed with burrata and black truffle and the risotto with red shrimp in lemon sauce. Absolutely incredible! The risotto was soooo refreshing and light and cooked perfectly. The truffle pasta was full umami flavor and a flavor party. We ended with delicious desserts, my husband got the hazelnut coffee which he loved and I got a lemon assortment. This had a lemon cream brulee sort of preparation which I loved. The wines here were also fantastic and the service prompt and great!
