Pictures sum it up. Service was friendly and quick. The bread at the beginning was absolutely delightful (light, crunchy surface, soft warm inside). We did manage to throttle back and not eat all of it lol, as we wanted to still enjoy our starter and pizza. The oils provided were the perfect compliment for the bread, the salad (and the crust of the pizza). Salad was fresh and light. Pizza rolled out next and we still believe this to be the best pizza we ever had. Not heavy, but filling. The flavors were so rich and bright. Of course I had to have a local beer which paired well. The seating was outside, which was covered in an ivy like feel. It was lemon trees providing adequate sun coverage and of course looked beautiful. Eating among the lemon trees. This place was picturesque as you sit among actual Amalfi lemon trees eating your meal. It's like an outdoor patio. It is kind of hidden away and looks almost like you are entering someone's property. There was a wait but they seemed to remember faces and I did get seated after about 30 minutes, though they did seem pretty busy for a Sunday night. I ordered the lemon ravioli since I had been eating a lot of pizza and read that people enjoyed it. In my opinion, the lemon ravioli didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, it seemed a little bland and didn't really taste like there was much lemon flavor and the quantity was a little small. Cooked well though. I think I would come back again but order the pizza instead. They did have a longer wait if you didn't make a reservation. Their lemon tiramisu (8€) was definitely worth it. Very creamy and not too sweet and had more of that lemon flavor that I was looking for. I wish I had come in a group, so they I could have tried more things, but no worries that can be next time. read more

Incredible pizzas! We had the truffle, lemon, and Margherita pizzas -- all were delicious. Not only is the dough just the right amount of chewiness, airiness, and saltiness, the cheeses were fresh and flavorful. The arancini and lemon tiramisu were great as well. The outdoor tables are under a gorgeous lemon pergola. The atmosphere is casual, but upscale. It's a great outdoor space for large party celebrations. I was so looking forward to eating here after reading rave reviews. We even had to make reservations so we took that as a good sign. To be fair, we are both gluten free so I cannot speak to their regular pizza. We were both very unimpressed. We found there to be no flavor at all. Donna Stella is a delightful reprieve from the pact squares and piazzas in the center of Amalfi... Yes, you have to go up some stairs on a side alley, or through a tunnel passageway and up some stairs to find Donna Stella- but you are rewarded with a romantic, shaded, beautiful seating area under the lemon trees which are supported overhead by Terrace work... The pizza is wonderful... it seems to be made with more care and love than the typical establishment catering to tourists... If you're looking for the best pizza you will ever eat on the Amalfi coast (possibly Italy in its entirety) this is the place. A lovely family owned restaurant where you can sit under beautiful lemon trees and eat pizza plus drink an aperol spritz, does it get any better? The Teddy pizza was delicious, with giant globs of creamy ricotta cheese on it, fresh basil and tomatoes, and mozzarella. We came here for an early lunch and they weren't open quite yet. We came by an hour later and they were open with a short 15 minute wait for our party of 4. Only their outdoor area was open, but had lots of seating. There are two entrances, but the waiting area was by the entrance closest to the water. They have signs on the main drag, but it may be hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for. We were seated at a nice table under the lemon vines. This was great because we were under a natural shade. I got the Calzone di Germanino, which was the best calzone I have ever had. It is unique in that it is fried. I also had some crust on one of the pizzas and that was soft and yummy as well. The ambiance was amazing and the service was great as well. All in all, I would highly recommend this place! read more

Great ambiance with the lemon garden surrounding the restaurant and the tables. The pizza was great and tasted authentic. Full of fresh ingredients and crispy crust, it was pretty good. I tried the teddy pizza and also tried the amalfi beer, both did not disappoint. The service was okay, pizza takes 10-15 mins and they have plenty of tables. Authentic Naples style pizza. Very casual and no reservations required for lunch. The staff are very courteous and the decor is quite homie. Appetizers are varied and usually quite good. Skip the fried cheese. It literally is a hunk of cheese the size of a slice of white bread with no red sauce as generally served in the United States. The bruschetta is usually much better than what we had today. The tomato salad is made with wonderfully ripe tomatoes and fresh basil. Aceto balsamico di Modena is brought out for you to use to your taste. No dressing is served with any of the salads so you are able to mix your own at the table. The lemon pepper fries were lacking pepper, but the lemon added a nice zing. The Naplotana pizza is spectacular! Nice and light. The lemon ravioli is perfection after adding a bit of salt. We've come here for years and have never been disappointed. Sitting in the neon tree garden is always preferable, but on a rainy day there is ample inside seating with beautiful Italian instrumental music piped in. read more

Probably my favorite meal during our 2 week trip in Europe. Amazing little spot on Amalfi which delivers a perfect ambiance, family feel and some of the best pizza in all of Italy. We were greeted by one of the "two sisters" and she made us feel right at home. Day or night, the lemon vines which encapsulate this Amalfi treasure will make you want to stay for hours. My wife had the lemon ravioli and it was delicious. I had a pizza with fresh mozzarella and whipped ricotta and it's a pizza I won't ever forget. A truly amazing place in an amazing city. Amalfi is full of tourist-trap restaurants that are happy to serve over-sauced, and over-priced food. Donna Stella is a breath of fresh air! Even better, they offer vegan and plant-based options. This is especially helpful if you are traveling with people with dietary restrictions, and because vegan/plant-based options are TOUGH to come by in Amalfi. Donna Stella is located off of the main thoroughfare through town. Easy walk from almost anywhere. The first thing you notice walking up is the beautiful outdoor terrace covered by lemon trees. It's awesome. We showed up on a weeknight without a reservation and waited for about 10 minutes; in addition to amazing ambience it is easy to get a table! I would recommend reservations on a weekend though. Service was great and attentive. The food was some of the best we have had in the region. My wife got a regular pizza (Primavera) and loved it. I got one of the vegan pizzas and was not disappointed. I'm not sure what the vegan mozzarella was, but it was very good. I can't recommend Donna Stella enough. read more

Wonderful little spot in Amalfi! My husband and I had been doing a boat tour along the coast from Positano and stopped in Amalfi for lunch. We arrived around noon before it got crowded.
