The food is wonderful, and the ambiance is good too! We ordered the Al-Amiri platter, and each and every item was well done! They also bake their pita/Khubos in-house, and which is very flavorful! read more

Al-Ameer - Al-Amiri platter - Middle Eastern Near Me - Dearborn, Michigan

Never have I paid in advance for a large family platter, including a whole lamb, only to walk in and be told that no one told anyone to prepare the meal. 14 family members waiting at home to eat, and I'm told to accept pieces of lamb which was less than my order. Utter incompetence. read more

Food: portion is big; taste is not bad. We ordered lamb stew and stuff lamb. Lamb stew is not what you think is a "stew", it is pan fry thin slices lamb with vegetables. It doesn't taste bad though. Service: the waitress's long colorful nails were dipping into my soup when she brought it to the table. :( There was a charge for 3 garlic dips ($1.5) for the bread that we didn't even finish. We barely finished 1 small dip. When asked why we were charged for 3, the waitress said"we have to." Have to?! This attitude has to deserve 1 star out of 5. read more

Food is great! Mary (our server) did an excellent job! I'm a repeat customer and will go there again.

My husband and I had been to Al-Ameer's years ago, and were eager to retry the restaurant after seeing a write-up in the paper. I started with the hummus, pleased that I could substitute it for a salad. The hummus's texture was wonderfully silky smooth. Atop the fresh, warm bread, it was simply delightful. My husband didn't care for the dressing on his fattoush salad. Irritatingly, our entrees came out right after the salad did, so my husband's chicken grew cold as he ate his salad. I had enjoyed their Boneless Chicken in the past, and eagerly ordered it this visit. I guess my memory exaggerated the yumminess of the garlicky- lemony sauce, or the present incarnation just wasn't as good. The sauce didn't have much lemon flavor, and while the chicken was perfectly grilled, it needed more flavor oomph from the sauce than it got. I also didn't care for the slightly curdled texture of the sauce. Overall, it was a disappointing visit. read more

Great! Very busy but super fast service. The chicken cream chop and the beef kafta have an expl0sion of flavor. Amazing quality meat, rice, fresh pita loaves, and hummus. The salad was ok. The garlic sauce was more like a smoothie texture but was still good. I've been here a few times, the meat was always fresh and cooked precisely well. The service was great. I had a party of 16 hungry hippos. Everyone was happy. I definitely recommend ordered a few combo dishes if you are here with a large group. This is one of the best restaurants to have a fantastic meal with friends and family in Dearborn, in terms of food goodness and the friendliness of the staff. They were super kool. They treat women and men kindly (unlike other restaurants in Dearborn, that are rude to women). The smoothies at this place are fantastic. Made fresh every time. Service 5/5 Food quality & freshness 5/5 Food coma after eating here 5/5 Memes 5/5 read more

Shawarma shawarma shawarma! If you're in town this is the go to place for one of the best shawarma's in America! I haven't tried anything else off the menu because I just want more of the shawarma. For 3.99 it's a great deal! If you're exceptionally hunger then you have to get the shawarma plate which is served with FRESH pita break baked in house. When I come back up here for work I will definitely be getting that. This time around I'm got one chicken and one beef shawarma and a side of fries. I personally think the beef one taste better but everyone has their preference. The servers are also very welcoming and helpful if you don't know what certain menu items are. If you want a bit more flavor I suggest getting a side of garlic sauce read more

had a great experience for the first 10 years or so and then it dropped big time in quality, value, and customer service. Small portions are now tripled in price compared to their competitors, which are many in the area. The CS was OK a few times but other times the staff was disrespectful. The food quality was consistent, to give them credit, but the portions were decreased and the prices skyrocketed here likely due to the demand at the restaurant. read more

I haven't been here in a while, but I am a huge fan of lebanese food. Al-Ameer is one of the more known restaurants in Dearborn and it did not disappoint. The hummus was fresh and possessed much flavor. The fattoush salad was really good with the vinegarette. The falafel was really good with the hummus as well. For the entree, I had the Al-Ameer platter, which I shared with my girlfriend. It was so much meat and rice for the both of us. We had to take majority of it home. If you are into Lebanese food or in the Detroit area, you should stop by. Staff is nice and the food comes out quick! read more

Excellent food and excellent service! Not to mention the price point is fantastic. High recommend!

Trust Anthony Bourdain, Al-Ameer is really good. Granted Dearborn probably has a gazillion middle eastern restaurants, and I'm not a great judge of middle eastern cuisine, but I loved Al-Ameer. First, service was great. The restaurant was a bit rowdy, but that's part of the experience. There's an open kitchen, so you can see the food getting cooked. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. Now the food. Definitely get a variety of dishes, instead of just getting one combo plate. We had 4 people, so we got two entrees and the combo for 2 plate. All entrees and combo plates come with salad. The default is lebanese salad, but we opted for tabbouli, which was amazing. It was so fresh and flavorful. The combo plate for 2 was a great deal. For 26 bucks, you get two portions of salad, 3 skewers, two portions of shwarma, two grape leaves, and two fried meat balls or some such. Sooooo much food. Entrees are also a great deal. We got the chicken ghallaba and the fried fish. Both come with rice and salad, and both were delicious! Definitely recommend. read more

the food was great. I ordered the grape leaves and shawarma. Our server baneen was helpful and sweet. will definitely be back.

Don't know what the hell happened to this place. Completely awful and overpriced. All of their dressings and sauces came in little packets straight from Costco. There wasn't one thing we ordered that didn't taste like cardboard. Makes me angry thinking about all the really good Mediterranean places around here at about 25% less price point. Total garbage, stay away. read more

The deboned chicken is just outstanding! Everything else we got - apps, Turkish coffee, smoothie - was totally solid. One of the best meals I've had in months! The folks are super welcoming and treated me us like family. This place is my new favorite restaurant! read more

We just came back from vacation STARVING and we saw this place and thought it looked good so we went in and we automatically got seated. Our waiter Mary, was so funny and kind! She told us the best food and the best prices. We ordered and like two minutes later our food came! Super fast service. Most of the food was good but some of the bread and chicken were a little burnt. But other than than the food was ok and the service was ok I would probably come back here again and you should too! As vegetarians, the waitress JuJu (Jumana) took good care of us. Really good service l, she even gave us a free dish on the house because as Vegetarians we didn't have a lot of options. I'd you're coming to visit here, definitely ask for Jumana!! read more

First time visiting, our server was friendly and great. I wasn't expecting the garlic spread to be so watery. Im use to the other places who have a more thicker garlic paste. The food over all was okay, not planning to go back. Nothing against my meal or anything just not a flavorful as I Like... But, dont not give em a chance because of my tastebuds. read more

Never disappointed. Service was amazing and the three meat platter was absolutely delish.

The place was not busy at all. We got sat by the host. No one else acknowledged our existence for 15 minutes. We left.

Would be nice to be able to judge the food. Went in and hostess said it would be 35 minutes and we could wait or wait in car and she would text us. Left our number and went to car. Waited 35 minutes without receiving a call so we went inside to check. Hostess said she tried to call us, but she had written one number down wrong. I asked if we could still eat and she said "the kitchen is closed." I even checked with person by kitchen and, although there were several workers back there, he told me kitchen was closed also. It says open until 11:00 pm on their page. I really feel like since we are Caucasian we were discriminated against since others were still eating. read more

Wonderful food. Very friendly. Make a point of visiting there every time I'm in Dearborn.

Al-Ameer - Chicken sampler platter - Middle Eastern Near Me - Dearborn, Michigan

I'm from a city with a prominent middle eastern community with amazing Mediterranean food. I came to Detroit excited for their exquisite Mediterranean food and was disappointed. Mediocre chicken shawarma, dry rice, the bread though was spectacular! The service was also really really slow. Didn't leave me feeling like I was missing out at home. read more

My boyfriend and I went here today for sandwiches, he had found it on Yelp and we wanted to try a new Middle Eastern place in Dearborn. Since it had such high reviews we chose this one. Sandwiches are very inexpensive, we each got the chicken kebab sandwich and they were $3.99 each. Bread and garlic paste are included which was great, and their bread is a little sweeter compared to other Pita breads I have tried. Garlic paste was great and waitservice was fast, as well. I would definitely come back here when in the area but it's a little bit of a drive for us. read more

Great quality, warm and friendly service, super efficient serving, the food is up very quickly. Nothing is Americanised, It's truly honest and authentic. The quality is top notch and its a standout location. The prices reflect the great value for money. The use of lamb is fantastic. One of my favorite places to visit. Can't wait to go back. read more

Food: Really Flavorful! Service: meh Atmosphere: not why you go to Al-Ameer Price: $ The food at Al Almeer puts Lebanese Taverna to shame. It's incredibly flavorful. We got the mixed lamb and chicken shawarma that was so good and the hummus was the lightest and fluffiest I've ever had. The service was lackluster and on a Sunday afternoon I was surprised to find it somewhat empty. Next time maybe I'll do takeout. read more

Great Lebanese food. Tastes home made. I like the mezze platter so you can have a little bit of everything. Bread is fresh, made in house. The kanafe is my favorite dessert. read more

We were a party of four for lunch after doing The Rouge factory tour. I had the Ghalaba (?) with chicken and it had great flavor. The portion was huge and it came with two sides. The hummus and pita were delicious. They reminded me that I should buy them at my local Middle Eastern market rather than the grocery store. They also served a garlic yogurt sauce with the pita bread that was delicious. The restaurant was pretty big but the parking lot is small so you might need to park on the street. Food arrived very quickly and our server was pleasant, helpful, and attentive. read more

Service was ok but ordered med sz hummus got a sm hummus was nothing it was 5 months ago and the garlic sauce tasted like what you purchase at a grocery store. Also I ordered lentil soup and my husband ordered lemon chicken rice soup and he got lentil too We just didn't say anything because our grandson just flew in from the airport and he had to drive all the way to Grand Rapids we know he loves Mediterranean food so wanted to take him before he left for home I don't think we will go back here unfortunately. read more

None of the kitchen staff properly wearing their masks. Five men in the and around the kitchen in close contact with each other, breathing on your food, masks either under the nose or on the chin. Seriously?! What the heck? Why are you endangering your customers? Irresponsible and reprehensible! Last time I visit this establishment. Beware of what you order. You may expect to get rice but it seems hummus and rice and mutually exclusive here. read more

Great food highly recommend ...the usually we go to messed up our order so we decided to take a longer ride to try this place and it didn't disappoint the dressing for fattoush salad was one of the best I've ever had the shawarma sandwich is the most tender tasty chicken I've ever bit into ..... I'm a believer and will be back really soon read more

Delicious food, serving sizes are gigantic, prices are on point, service excellent, seated immediately. My only wish is that they had an outdoor patio for my covid worries. We came here for lunch on a Sunday with fairly empty stomachs. The food was solid, everything we ordered (appetizer sampler of tabouli, grape leaves, and hummus, stuffed lamb entree and the combo platter) we enjoyed. The portion sizes were so enormous though, we barely made it through half the lamb, most of the kabobs, and half of the sampler dish. Everything tasted fresh and the yogurt, salad, and garlic creams were good enough that I would have packed them away in my purse if I could. Service was attentive and friendly. There were a surprising number of children (with their families) in the restaurant. We didn't have any wait and we're seated immediately although it was pretty busy. Definitely going to come back to try the dessert. read more

Al-Ameer Canton Chicken Shawarma was very dry & tasteless it did'nt have any spices to begin with. In chicken Combo, Chicken Shawarma was again very dry & spiceless, there were no Shish Tawook & Chicken Chops, there was only one skewer of Chicken Kafta which was spicless. In sides Fatous Salad was not provided though they charged $1 extra. They ripped me off with less quantity & sub standard food. I highly don't recommend Al-Ameer Canton restaurant. read more

The BEST FOOD EVER AND ... consistently and for years... whenever I come back home from California I go straight to Al Ameer.

First, I must say that Al-Ameer is delicious. I'm from Ohio and visit metro Detroit regularly and always love to eat here. But after my most recent experience, it will be hard to ever eat here again. Yesterday I ordered mudjudarra- my favorite!- and a salad. I ate half of my dish and took the rest home in a box. Straight home and into my fridge. Today, when I opened my box and scooped out some lentils, I found a large, dead roach. For a roach to fall into a dish in the kitchen must mean the place is crawling! I wonder when is the last time they had an inspection? I've attached photos. I'm really, really disappointed that I won't be able to eat here again! But I almost threw up after finding a dead roach in my food, so it won't be easy to go back. read more

Not sure if this was an off night since I'm from out of town, but my experience was slow service, ok food (at best), and ok ambiance but unclean. I came because it had the most reviews on Google with over 4000 and around 4 stars, I figured in the heart of Arab America this would be a sure fire thing. We were greeted pleasantly and promptly. Waitress was friendly and took our order: raw kibbeh, stuffed lamb, grape leaves, adding that we'd get a salad and garlic sauce and I added yogurt. Food came out promptly, the kibbeh and grape leaves were fine (6-6.5/10) and the stuffed lamb was room temp and bland (5-6/10). I took few bites of everything and waited, expecting the salad, yogurt, and garlic to come out as I expect would've added some much needed acidity to elevate everything a bit, but after the large party near us left, we didn't see much staff and I just ate until I was full and waited then to ask for boxes and a check but she didn't show. While eating I noticed a hair in the food, but whatever just yanked and tossed it and kept eating. Then noticed a little cockroach walking around the booth seat. So I went to restroom which was in need of cleaning, I flushed toilet and soiled toilet paper on the ground. When I came back, she still had not visited my table where my wife was waiting so I went looking and found her and she said she got distracted with something or another and forgot. Of note, there was a loud obnoxious customer fussing that her food was not hot enough and screaming that she doesn't want them to spit in her food and they seemed very accommodating, but shouldn't the quiet customers get the standard of dining while those assholes get the boot. Some management adjustment may be in order. I'd love to come back to give them a try. read more
