The lock to my gate was jammed and after trying to bash it with a hammer my last resort was to call a locksmith. Chris was very responsive and patient when I was in between communicating with him and my mom. His rates were reasonable for a house call that services the sgv region. He sent a technician (also named Chris) to my residence who was also pretty friendly and told me what was wrong with my lock! Thank you two for your helpfulness and swift responses. read more

I'm all for supporting small businesses, especially during COVID. Times are tough and I get it, but just wanted to let everyone know that they are a little pricey. I went in to get a basic house key copied and the guy charged me $5 per key. Probably better off going to a Home Depot and getting it copied at one of those self kiosk machines. 3 star for doing good work but pricey. Updating: I just tried my keys at my house and they didn't match. Upon inspection, the top of the keys match but not the sides read more

Came in here to get a replacement key made for a van. Parked right in front and I was in and out in around 5 minutes, key works great. I think it was 10 bucks if I recall though to be honest I can't remember the exact amount. They take credit card, but they also had a QR code for Venmo. I can't speak to the locksmithing but for getting replacement keys made this place is great. read more

Came here on Sunday noon, and I was impressed with the customer service they had. I messaged them via yelp hours before opening and they replied my request! I had an issue with my car keys not being responsive, and I'm so blind about this stuff, so I was so desperate needing it to be fixed. The guy who helped me is really nice and he explained what's wrong with my keys! Turned out it was a battery problem. He also gave me an insight how car keys have some issues like this or we need to re program it in the future! Best service, best customer service, when you have lock issues, go to this guy! read more

So my boyfriend broke his key to his Ford F-150 and we needed to get another key made in a pinch because we barely got the truck to start (the part with the chip broke off from the key). I found this place on our way home and they were able to make him two sets for $65/ea. You guys are lifesavers! I wish I knew the name of the guy that helped us. My boyfriend was having such a horrible day and you guys came in clutch to save the day. A million times thank you!!! read more

Pricey!!! Also the older guy with curly hair is so rude! I couldn't even get my question in when he just kept repeating "$85" and interrupting me even when the question would necessitate a yes/no response. I'm happy to overpay someone else than this guy. read more

Too expensive, asked for $25 to just duplicate a key. I turned around and went to a cheaper place that cut the key for $10. The person who talked to me also hung up on me once I said, I only want a key duplicated. Terrible customer service. read more

2003 Mitsubishi Galant, +220K miles, (KBB value ~ $2K) parked at my senior citizen parents home because of parking restrictions at my complex. Our son recently turned of age to practice for his license , a fantastic hand-me-down car to start with. It's never had any issues and has always been strong. In the near 20 years of owning this vehicle, it's always had a single key; a decade ago we tried to program another key from another company and they had no luck. Because we already had a key, we never gave it a second thought. Flash-forward ten years later the vehicle is parked at my parents house untouched (or started/driven) for 6 weeks. Turns-out my parents had lost the single and only key I had. No biggie right? We called a random (and competing) company (also with great Yelp reviews) to come and make a new one. Upon arrival the gentleman was very nice. Cut the key, however couldn't get the system to match the key. After 1.5 hours of attempts, he gave up. This made reminded me of my experience of a poor attempt 10 years ago. The dilemma is, because a key can't be matched (after two various companies attempting) the only issue/resort would be towing the vehicle to the dealer, having them cut a dealer key, AND having them match the key accordingly with the vehicles system. This last resort would be well into the cost of the vehicle - so if this was the resort; we would opt to donate the vehicle or try to sell "as-is" in non-working condition. Either way it would be monetary loss of the value of the vehicle. ENTER Chris, our last attempt before making the decision of donating the vehicle if he couldn't get the key to work. In speaking with Chris, I have given the history of the vehicle with the past poor attempts. I've given him reasons/responses other techs have given for reasons why they feel they couldn't get it done. Chris with confidence understood the issue, and gave a light audible laugh knowing what these techs said weren't the experienced he had. What would have normally been a 20 minute job ended up being three hours... BUT CHRIS GOT IT TO WORK! This was literally $2K saved from me donating a perfectly working vehicle. Chris knew if he couldn't get it done, what my options were. Knowing this he put in the extra time and effort (mind you today was + 100° in SGV!). When it was done, my parents, myself, and my neighbors knowing the issue gladly cheered! AND Chris beat out the competition by $20! GO CHRIS! read more

They charge around 33% of what the dealership quoted for a new replacement key. My car is a 2006 honda accord, with the standard lock/unlock/trunk/panic buttons integrated into the head. In all of 15 minutes, Chris was able to cut me two new keys, get the chip to read, and program the remote. Basically replicate the original. You can tell the aftermarket case has a matted rather than smooth texture, but otherwise it looks and feels OEM. Feels great to save so much and get things immediately. My only recommendation is to call before going to the store. I went during business hours, and the door was locked, so I called the number posted, and Chris told me he would return in 15 minutes as he was out serving another customer. read more

These dudes were fast. My moms lost her key and of course, she calls me like I am a locksmith. I ended up searching and came across AKW. They were so down to earth. They gave a price for me over the phone and I accepted it. They went to my mom and they finished unlocking and making a new key in about 20 minutes. Moms was so happy! She even told me how sweet the dude was by opening the door for her. Chivalry at its finest. Not sure who it was though. Think his name was either Chris or Jose. Either way the whole team was awesome. The best part of all this was when they called me for payment, they gave me a discount! Well not really lol. It was because the info I gave them was wrong lol. The key for the car was actually cheaper and they didn't overcharge me! Honesty at its finest. So yeah.. these guys are super chill and super honest. What more can you ask for????? A+++ in my book! read more

My car key fob case broke and I decided to buy a replacement case on Amazon. I installed the circuit board and key onto. the new one. It worked unlocking and locking the doors but it couldn't turn on the engine. I ended up using yelps quote feature and AKW was one of the companies. After talking to several locksmiths. Chris the owner of AKW knew right away what the problem was. He's great at responding and very knowledgeable in his craft. His technician was also friendly and arrived on time. The technician fixed the problem right away. I would definitely recommend AKW Locksmith to solve the problem. Their rates was comparable from the other locksmiths. What a service!!!! And honesty !!!! I messed up one of my car keys, after calling and not been able to find a shop that could "program" my key, i just started looking at yelp, and didn't want to drive a few more miles, when I called AKW he blew me away asking to bring remote as they hardly required programming, so on my day off I drove and in a matter of ten minutes or less he knew what my problem was and most important never tried to take advantage of me not knowing what I was doing and was 100% honest, he just charged me $10 for a new battery. I would definitely recommend this business as they truly represent the 5 starts if not more. read more

I heartily endorse using their services. Chris did a pretty good job; he is receptive, efficient, and progressive in what he does. My mom doesn't have any backups or a copy of the master key she lost for the car. I called a couple locksmiths and it was a lot, I also called the dealership to get a brand new key without a copy of the key it was $500+ and also you'll have to tow the car to the dealership. So If you haven't done so, I recommend getting a copy of your car keys. This is an important lesson that my family learned from my mom. I contacted this business and Chris provided a reasonable estimate for the master key for my moms. After the call, he arrived an hour later. We also might as well have made copy's of the other keys in addition to the master key for the car. Thank you Chris for your assistance; I highly recommend. read more

I left my brain somewhere in the ether and locked myself out of the house on Saturday night. Just brilliant adulting. I am so glad I called Auto Key World. They picked up the phone immediately, gave me an ETA, and provided me a quote within minutes. I know nothing about locks, so I took pictures of the doorknob and sent them via text. Throughout the exchange, Chris and the other gentleman both wore masks and practiced social distancing. Communication was also excellent; I appreciated the 10min heads up text before they arrived. They showed up earlier than expected and immediately got to work. Speedy and professional service was great. Prices are more than reasonable. I paid Chris through Venmo. Thank you very much for saving me from what could've been a terrible night! Will be coming here for any key or lock issues in the future. Highly recommended. read more

Best locksmith I've ever used. Great and helpful. Took of my situation quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended.

Chris is a savior!! I lost my car keys while grocery shopping, needed a new key made and he came to the rescue. I contacted other locksmiths and the rates to have a key made for my car was almost 400. Plus they needed payment up front and while I spent most of my money grocery shopping I didn't have the full payment on the spot. The other locations didn't agree to see me unless I had the full amount. After many calls to my insurance, they contacted Chris and he gave us the lowest estimate for half the price. He understood my situation and agreed to follow me home so I can pay the rest. He got a key made on the spot within 15 mins or so upon arrival. And my key is the one that needs to be programmed, with the remote and all. Today was not a good day but I'm glad I found a locksmith with lower rates. I would definitely recommend his company to everyone in need of locksmith services. read more
