Since the installation, my air conditioner has stopped working three separate times. Ironically, my 50-year-old unit only broke down once in the 10 years I lived in this home. The salesperson, Leo, who sold me the unit has been completely MIA. Before installation, my home was inspected to ensure everything was ready, yet the installation process was poorly communicated, and no one addressed my concerns. Within a week of the installation, the unit failed for the first time. Now, during the peak of summer, it has failed twice more--once less than two weeks ago and again today. I have called, emailed, texted, and used the chat feature to contact Toto Air. I have received no response. They do not provide 24 hour service when it's actually needed. 2 of the 3 times when during the week and they did not come out after hours and did not offer me anything outside of normal business hours. They state it's two ways on their website and neither is true. As it is a weekend and I have not heard from anyone. No one has been able to give me a clear explanation for why the compressor on my roof keeps shutting off, assuming that's even the root cause. I have two 12-week-old babies, and we cannot stay in our own home because our nearly $10,000 A/C system isn't reliable. If Toto Air cannot send a qualified technician who can permanently fix this problem, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and CSLB.

When I attempted to resolve the matter professionally, the contractor declined to accept responsibility and told me not to contact him further, stating that his attorney would become involved if I did. I value honesty, professionalism, and accountability when hiring contractors, and I did not feel those expectations were met. --- 8/6/26 In response to the Business owners response: I find it unnecessary and unprofessional to mention the value of the property in your Yelp response. The property's value has no relevance to the experience I shared or the incident itself. From the beginning, I was courteous and patient. I asked for your account of the incident and submitted your explanation to the HOA so they could consider your side before making any conclusions. After reviewing the security camera footage, the HOA informed me that the video did not support your version of events. According to the HOA, the footage showed your truck driving between the lanes and striking the gate that was not assigned to your lane. That is why I updated my understanding of what occurred. I reached out afterward in an effort to discuss the matter and resolve it professionally. Rather than working toward a resolution, you told me not to contact you again and that your attorney would handle the matter. There was no attempt to discuss the HOA's findings or resolve the issue. My review is based on my personal experience. In addition to providing the highest HVAC quote of all the contractors I contacted, I was disappointed by how this situation was handled after the incident. Accountability and professionalism are important qualities in any contractor, and unfortunately, that was not my experience.

The recommendation I received was to either spend $4,000-$5,000 on refrigerant and possible diagnostics, with no guarantee the problem would be resolved, or replace my entire HVAC system. I was initially quoted between $50,000 and $70,000 for a full replacement. After I explained that I couldn't afford that, the quote was reduced to around $30,000 by removing the heating portion, even though the heating system was never the problem. That large price difference made me question the recommendation. Wanting a second opinion, I had another company come out. They quickly diagnosed the issue, repaired it the same day, and my AC has been working perfectly ever since. Two other HVAC companies also agreed that my system still has plenty of life left and did not need to be replaced. While I appreciated Hugo's professionalism, I left feeling like the focus was on selling a replacement system rather than exhausting reasonable repair options first. Based on my experience, I would recommend getting multiple opinions before committing to a major HVAC replacement.
