They charge too much. Period. They will come out and take your money for 2 trips to start up your swamp and then to shut it down later but it does not matter if you are a 10 yr customer or a 20 yr customer if they have to come out the next day after already being here or even the same day, you are charged with another $100 when they should have checked out your equipment and inside controls better while they are here. They start you up but if something is not right and they have to come back, good luck. I did get a nice roof unit about 18 yrs ago from them but it's not the same service as before although the service tech the last year has been pretty good so I will give 2 stars for him.. Check other places first and some offer senior discounts and that is what I will do next year when I need more service again.. read more

Air-O recently replaced our air conditioner and furnace system and also installed an attic fan. From start to finish, this was a top notch professional experience. Everything about the experience was excellent: the superior equipment provided, the expert and careful workmanship of the great (and personable) crew of Andrew, Ryley and Ian, and the immediate response of the team to any of our calls or requests. Dan was an absolute pleasure to work with ; he lost no time in getting our job rolling as quickly as humanly possible during the hottest week of the summer, even providing temporary portable ac units so we were comfortable throughout the install. Dan provided excellent guidance and choices for us in determining what system to choose to replace our old system. We had used Air-O for our repairs and a PM contract with success in the past, but this replacement job was a whole new level of excellence. We could not be happier with the work of this company. Called today for AC repair and was told some could come out tomorrow which would be a Saturday. I was quoted $142.50 for overtime and another $142.50 for a service fee that's $285 and then another $142.50 hourly fee. Just unbelievable that any company would charge this type of fee regardless of there membership program. No, I'm not a member I just want a fair price to get an estimate for my AC repair. When your living on a fixed income and borrowing money to get your AC fixed this is what you get slapped in the face with. I have no good words for this company this is purely unjustified for charging these types of prices. I contacted other companies and the service fees ran from $85 - $120 at the most. Well won't be using this company and as far as your membership fee NOT EVER and shame on you. read more

I needed some sheet metal work done and called around. I found a lot of very unhelpful businesses but these guys said no problem. I gave them measurements and in a few days I picked up the peice I needed and it was perfect. Since then I has used them two more thins for sheet metal work and once for HVAC repair. I have had the oportunity of hearing first hand how bad this company treats their customers. They put a/c units on buildings that are not appropriate for that size of house. Thier designs on where vents are put are not correct. I also know that they do not stand behind their product. You pay top dollar for it but you are definatley stuck with it. After hearing all this I would definatley never use them or let someone I know use them. read more

Had Air O Service out to give me a quote on a new A/C system. They were prompt and friendly. I had 3-quotes and Air O was the most knowledgable but they weren't the cheapest. This outfit is crooked. They broke my system worse than it was. They doubled the prices of the refrigerant they installed (into a leaking system). They left my wife and I in a broken system in100 degree heat for two weeks without communicating. They claimed they had sent me thier very best technician. Then they billed me $808.00 and never repaired the system. The person who finally fixed our HVAC unit did it for almost exactly half what Air-O is charging me. When we went to Air-O to try to workout a compromise the "owner" wasn't there but they would have him call me. Jack (the "owner") called me today when I was out. I returned his call but he didn't want to work it out. He wanted his $808 and accused me of talking over him when I tried to explain our position. He didn't want to hear our side. He is now trying to take us to court. BTW I sent him a check when we got his first bill for $178. That was the cost of his service call and diagnosis. read more

I have been a customer of Air-O Service for 10yrs. I have always called Air-O for my swamp cooler needs. I bought a highly efficient , expensive swamp cooler " Pro series" from them in 2006.It has always worked great and I always had nothing but good to say about this company. Air-O always treated me very well but this year I have had nothing but terrible service from them. In May they sent me an incompetent tech. He was here an hour to service my highly efficient roof top swamp cooler.In the past the other Air-O techs took about 15-20 minutes. This Tech acted like he did not know what he was doing. He stood on my roof and kept staring everywhere else. He came over to my heating/ac unit two times telling me he can check that too and I told him I had a AC tech coming to look at it and that Air-O was supposed to service my swamp cooler only. After almost an hour he said, he was done and asked for $80.00 and I paid him. I asked him if I needed new pads for the summer and he said no. Within a week my unit was not cooling well and was making a loud squeaking noise. I was concerned as my unit was always quiet before. I called Air-O and spoke to the boss there and explained that I did not think the Tech they had sent out had done anything to service my unit. He apologized and said, they had recently fired 2 techs. I asked him if it was the same Tech that came out here and he said yes and they had a lot of upset customers because of these inefficient Techs they had hired and they were having to go back and redo a lot of their incompetent work. I asked him if they could come out and not charge me again since I had paid for nothing with their incompetent tech the first time. He said, he didn't know !! I told him I was charged for nothing and it is not right or fair to charge me again to come back a second time. They finally sent out another Tech and he told us that I had a loose drain tube and a shaft bearing going out and I would be sent a work order with their estimate to fix the bearing and belt . About a week later I received their work order in the mail and they had charged me for yet another service charge!!!!! It was for $79 this time!! Totally wrong to do to a loyal good paying 10 year customer or in fact any customer. I called again and had to leave a message on the boss's message machine and told him I would pay for the work but I did not feel I should be paying the home visit charge again since they did not take care of me the first time. I waited 4 days and never got a return call. Air-O is not the same company I used to know. They did not take care of me or my unit!! I am lucky that we have another A/C unit or we would have really suffered in this 110-114 heat wave along with our dogs. Today I had another swamp cooler Tech from another company come to my house to check my unit .I decided not to rely on Air-O anymore because of their poor treatment . He has 10 plus years experience on these swamp coolers. He said my pads were terribly dirty (I was told by Air-O they weren't) !! He brought them down off my roof and he was right!!! They were full of calcium deposits and had a lot of black like dirt all over them. My bearings were tight and working fine ( Air-O said , they weren't) but my shaft was wobbling and I needed a new one along with a new pulley and belt. Air-O had sent me a work order for bearing replacement which I did not need. Thank Goodness, I finally got fed up and called someone else. Lucky my unit did not break down or there was no further damage. I was more than happy to pay this new Tech for 3 hours of good service. My swamp cooler is running great now and is cooler than it has been all summer. Air-O caused me a lot of undo stress and loss of money with no good service provided!!! I do not recommend them!!!!!! I gave them a one star only because the Swamp Cooler they had sold me 10yrs ago has been a good one. Sad how this business has become but glad I have found a competent Tech that I can trust to keep my unit running smoothly now. Thankfully there are some good caring repairmen still out there, but unfortunately their not always easy to find any more. I got lucky! read more

Extremely questionable service, arguably a scam altogether. After pumping in hundreds of dollars over the last couple months and several visits (this is just my time while being a tenant at current house) our home finally became unlivable as its summer in redding and the house was 90 degrees. After each visit the "senior" tech spent 15 minutes doing whatever, claimed the AC to be working at the end of each visit and after each visit it did not. After finally seeking another opinion, from a much friendlier, more intelligent business in town we were told the long list of faults with the AC unit, first and foremost being it was not installed properly. And it was no surprise when we found out that Air-O installed it years ago. PLEASE, for your sake seek, an alternate business for AC needs. read more

When I called, Jan in the office got us an appointment for the next morning and when I called again to give her special instructions because I would not be able to be at the appointment she was very kind. The tech was very courteous and early. He fixed the issue quickly. The price was reasonable for the issue and if we have any other issues for my mom's home or ours, I will definitely be using Air-O.
