The "Lead" guy has always hustled while being patiently kind and extremely focused. Today another young man coordinated with him on the Safety Inspection. Here to leave yet another 5 star review for the 76 aina haina station. I rolled up on a Saturday just before noon for a vehicle safety check, unsure what their hours were and hoping for good luck. One worker kindly informed me they had just finished for the day but another employee - Race was his name - said he was happy to complete mine real quick. He was so kind, professional, and speedy! Today was the last day to renew my safety check. I called at 2:15 PM and asked if I could get an inspection today. The young man on the phone said that if I could be there in 40 minutes he could do the inspection. I got there with six minutes to spare, and as promised my safety inspection was done. Only thing stopping me from a 1 star review is the fact that I've come here for safety inspections before and had good experiences. Today I came, parked in a stall, checked in to let them know I was here for a safety... I watched 3 cars that arrived AFTER me, get their safety check before I did, well I didn't get it because I eventually left after being disregarded. Kept being told to get back in the car and wait. Keep in mind I have my toddler who is going stir crazy in the backseat waiting.... So if you want a fast safety check, do what everyone else did and park in front of the others waiting and just assert yourself and they will probably let you cut. These guys trying to upsell safety checks. Kid told me all the tires were bald so he couldn't pass me. He said the tread wasn't deep enough but I pointed out it was definitely deeper than 2/32 inch. Then he tried to switch his reasoning and say they were cracking and pointed to some tiny cracks (way less than 1") on the tread. Don't fall for it. Don't even waste your time coming here. Called and asked if I need to make an appointment for a safety check. Phone was answered on the first ring. It is first come first serve from 9am to 1 pm. I drove over and was second in line. Waited about 5 minutes. Safety check was done in about 10 minutes. One of my tires needed air so they checked all four- no additional charge which is unheard of nowadays. It is that dreaded safety check time of the year. Depending on when and which inspection station you go to, you may end up with a long wait or finding out that you don't have the required documents and something needs to be corrected on the vehicle. I have had some good visits to this station so decided to take a chance. As I drove up, the young gentleman quickly directed me to pull up to the side as he was finishing up another vehicle ahead of me. I waited about 7 minutes and prepared all of my documents then handed it over to him. After going through the checklist of car functions; headlights, horn, turn signals and visuals of good tire tread etc, I was asked to pay the $27 fee. He then quickly took the mileage and renewed my decal. The whole process was done in about 20 minutes and I was happier than a kid in a toy store. It's that time of year again and I needed a safety check. I found out they do them from 8:00-3:00pm, M-F now. I got there about 12:45 and was told there were a couple people in front of me. Sure enough, was called to pull up after about 15 minutes. Another young man took my info and everything was going great until I found out I needed two new front tires because my current ones were slightly bolo (insert crying emoji). No problem, was told they could put on new ones within the hour for $530 which included the safety check. Went to Foodland to kill time and after 30 mins I was walking back when I saw them driving my van out. They had finished putting on the new tires and I was good to go! On 11/11/24, at 1:19pm, I went here for a safety check. Without checking or measuring my tired tread, they said 3 out of my 4 tires were bald. So they refused to give me a safety check but were quick to offer to replace 3 of my tires or all 4 of my tires for $800. Safety check expired so I brought my car here on a Monday. Super busy but they handled the customers efficiently. It was a 2 to 2-1/2 hour wait (first come, first served) but I could put my name on a waitlist and get a call when my turn comes up. Since I live in the area, I could go home and come back. There's couple of restaurants and the library in the shopping center if you if do not have that luxury. The guys here are SUPER NICE even though it is very busy. Five star + service. I always come here to get an oil change. Friendly staff, even the mechanics are nice. Always greeted very kindly. They Don't try to rip you off. They do recommend stuff but it was because my tires were literally bald. They have never tried to up sell me or pressure me into getting things that aren't necessary. I make an appointment drop it off and it's usually done within an hour or so. They always call as soon as it's ready. It's just simple and easy and hassle free with great customer service. There's plenty to do at the shopping center too while you wait for your car as it's connected to the shopping plaza. They have legit the fastest and easiest safety check and I trust their oil changes. Got my safety check done here. They do not take appointments, so it's first come, first serve. I stopped by around 1pm on a weekday and they asked for my name and number, and said they'll call me when they're ready for me. They asked me to stay close-by and mentioned that it would be about an hour wait. Fortunately they happen to be in a small shopping plaza, which happened to have a shave ice place (Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha), so I just got myself a shave ice and chilled out until they called me. The actual safety check took 5 minutes. They asked me to turn on my lights, blinkers, windshield wipers, etc. Afterwards they slapped the safety check sticker on my bumper and I was all pau. I can't remember how much I paid, but I think it was in the ballpark of $25 or $29. The mechanic who did the safety check was very nice. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5, as I think it'd be better if they took appointments so the customer doesn't have to wait around. read more

First time going here to be honest. I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews. I had to get a safety check and the place I have been going to for years were on vacation. This location is convenient. I called ahead and they told me it was a walk-in and how many people were currently waiting. I drove down and was immediately greeted by a nice lady. She asked what I needed and alerted me to the current wait. She signed me and gave me an estimate of time and took down my phone number and said they would call me when it was my turn. My turn came quicker than the estimated wait time. A young looking technician came out and had me go through the usual lights, wipers, tires and all the normal stuff. While thorough with his inspection it was quick and easy. The price was at par for every place I have gone before. After this experience, I'll probably come back here again next year. Worst place I've ever been for a safety check sticker. What a waste of time. Did everything then finally busted out the tint meter. Was just a few percent over. Not blacked out. And that's fine if they want to be strict, but do it first if you think it might fail. I hate time Wasters. Might be ok if you have a totally stock truck or car. read more

Came here for a safety Inspection, was told to come back another day because the wifi was down. Went back next week, I never seen such a confused staff, car were lining up for a safety but I guess they change the system. They wanted people to sit in there car and wait and waitand clock the driveway. They would come back every 10 min and tell us to move. I made an appointment for my husbands car for a safety check & oil change. Dropped off the car at 8:00 am, they called at 9:00 am to say it was completed. We went to pick up the car, and the attendant notified us that they changed the oil on the wrong nissan! Was told would be thirty minutes, the attendant called to say it was done. When we arrived, i was expecting a discount for the inconvenience! Nothing was offered so i asked and the cashier told me no! I was very disappointed since this was clearly their mistake! I took my car in for a safety check and while waiting my car didn't start. It was raining and although they were busy they tried to check out my car to get it running again. I had made arrangements for a tow truck but when business slowed down, the senior guy (not old mind you) there checked my car again he found it was actually just loose battery cables.
