Texaco just installed a new car wash. It is not as user friendly as the previous system (the old wash wasn't exactly user friendly-the payment area was always glitchy) but the old wash gave you a drier countdown as you exited, and if you exited slowly watching the countdown, your car would get about a 75-80% effective dry. The new wash does not have a countdown and it is confusing as to where exactly the car gets dried upon exiting. So my car was about 10% dried when I was done . Which sucked b/c I had to pull over and park and dry my entire car in the blazing sun to avoid water spots (luckily I had a junk towel in my trunk). But the worst part of the experience was the huge price hike. I paid $18 ($20 for the upgraded option which I passed on) for a marginal wash and had to wipe down my car. Before the wash was updated I paid $15 for the upgraded (marginal) wash and had to wipe down about 20% of my car. So heads up-if you want to be robbed you can try this new wash out. I would suggest saving $18-$20 and just hose down and wipe/dry your car yourself. Such a bummer b/c it was my routine after the beach to get the salt off. read more

I come here weekly not for gas, but mainly to wash my company vehicle. Just a year ago.........this car wash had the best dealages, as this particular Texaco gas station used to charge just $10 bucks for a car wash, but recently they raised their prices to $15 bucks for a car wash............I guess it was needed to cover the cost of maintenance for this car wash? Overall, this car wash center is not bad as it provides a decent car wash (especially if you hate washing your own car), but recently I noticed at times the machine doesn't dispense as much chemical suds (soap) to wash down your vehicle (maybe they ran out of soap solution? or skimping on the suds?), and as you exit the car wash, the blower appears to be broken as it only channels the air in one direction. Regardless, I still come here as I don't wanna waste time washing a car, when I can be out doing other things like looking for a good place to eat! Ha! Ha! Some of the good things I like about this car wash center is the convenience factor, as you can come here anytime of the day to get a car wash as it's opened 24/7 (unless it broken, or maintenance is being done on the machine). Also, this Texaco gas station offers free use of the air compressor should you need to check your tire pressure on your car tires, and free water which is kinda unheard of now-a-dayz. Needed a car wash so I checked out this drive through. The drive through is a hard turn curve to the right. I pulled up to the pay station and tried to put cash in ( the machine said it takes $1,$5, and $10 dollar bills. However, none of my bills were accepted and I needed to drive through the car wash to park and go inside the Texaco and pre-purchase the car wash to obtain a verification code. After purchase it was easy to get the wash. It was a hassle to try to pay with cash and then realize that the pay station would not take the cash, all while another car was behind me so I couldn't back out, and even if I could back out, there is a hard right turn so I would have to turn while backing out. Overall the car still had some spots on it that I had to hand wash when I got home. I wouldn't recommend this car wash unless you were in dire need of a wash. read more

Very convenient place to gas up on the Eastern Honolulu. Their automatic, eye-opening car wash that charges $15.00 per wash that last about a couple minutes was significant price increased from the past. With a few bucks more, one can get a great car wash with people drying the car after wash from McKinley car wash in Downtown. read more

Chevron is now Texaco. Great place for gas, wash, vacuum and coffee/ goodies. It is the same ownership as Chevron and you can expect the same good service. I come here often to gas up, though it is not the cheapest, simply because I can get a wash quickly at the same time. In addition they have free air for tires as well as window washing squeegie bins, increasingly rare. Being in Koko Marina there are tons of places nearby for various needs/desires. Worlds better than the 76 up the street. read more

This car wash is a rip off. They raised the price to $15.00 from $11.00! The dryer that is on only 2 minutes to start with starts running about 12 seconds before car wash stops. So you really only have 1 minute 48 seconds to dry a car. Ridiculous. I have a small SUV and it is never fully dry. I would give this car wash ZERO STARS if I could. Don't go there. read more

I recommend not going to this car wash. I've gone there for decades and always had a decent automated wash. But today, I got a wash but during the "drying" phase the arm that directs the air downward onto your car to dry it, didn't come down. So maybe only half of the air tried to dry my car. My car was still covered with water when I drove around to the front to let the three ladies in the store that the equipment was broken. I didn't ask for refund or discount or anything since stuff happens. But I got all sorts of excuses that that was the way it was and that it would never change. One lady even said that it's a "car wash - no dry". So If you want to pay the same $14 and come out with a wet car so the minerals can leave deposits on your windows while you drive homes, so be it. I'm never going back there...ever. Had the ladies thanked me for letting them know and said they'll tell the owner, I would have been OK and still come back again. But I guess that sort of thinking is above their pay grade. What a way to turn your customers off. read more

Ok, con- you're limited on gas stations in hawaii kai. Pro- it's actually pretty cheap for most items, or should I say a little less then average on your everyday items at a gas station. The place is most of the time very clean, the bathroom is clean. If you're there just the day employees are nice, they speak English, and don't have any attitudes. You are in and out fairly quick. They have everything you could possibly need from a gas station, plus a descent car wash drive through. 10$and less:... plus they conveniently have complimented air and water for your vehicle. All around 10 out of 10. *****NOW the only major down fall with the place, is your graveyard shift employees that work there. I don't if the females that are there are Micronesian or Filipino, one is somewhere in there 30's maybe 40's - and the other is somewhere in her 20's. some what difficult to tell their age. I get their attention and let them know there's a spill on the ground, they thank me for watching out. I finish cleaning up the mess and the employee says, "oh I'll mop it up sometime later". Ummmm ok?!?! I just cleaned it up! Are you that ignorant and dumb??? This female should be reprimanded, or fired. I want to speak with the owner/ manager of this gas station. This was uncalled for. Very unprofessional. I even tried my best to make conversation to the employee , she wasn't having it what so ever, she was just just in a pissy mood cause of how slow and quiet it was, you know maybe if you found something to do to make the time go by, and not on your phone, maybe the time might go by just a bit faster. I don't usually write reviews but the service here is unbelievable. The service attendants that work inside at night are incredibly rude and unprofessional. I bought a car wash and when I went to punch in my code it was temporarily closed. I drove around and informed the attendant that it was closed and she got upset like it was my fault.
