So tired of having to walk inside the shop to get a receipt after filling up. And the staff don't care. Fix those printers people!

Regular 4.52 a gallon and premium 4.97. My car only takes premium and the average premium rate is 5.09 or higher . This Texaco breaks the 5.00 mark. Also this gas station has a nice convenient mini mart that has everything from musubi, drinks , beer, also a ATM machine. Also it could be my imagination but I really like Texaco gasoline because it burns a lot slower than most . Let me explain what I mean by burning for example when I fill up my tank with Aloha Gasoline it really goes down faster than if I would have fill up on Texaco gasoline . Like I said it could only be my imagination but if you want to try it and see it for yourself let know what you think lol . Support local

The convenience of this gas station is great!…read more My gosh how it magically evolved over the year as I remember it being Chevron I believe? First of all it was the place for me to get the best hotdog pre-Costco it had it all with the drinks and snacks and all things for your car short of a mechanic. With this location just outside of Waikiki and in the residential area of Kapahulu it can get quite busy but having a light signal has its major convenience of making a left or right turns without worries. On this day though I'm apologize it was just for my windows as they baaaaaaadly needed a spritz with birds leaving me gifts just a quick wipes is all I needed and they do have it here which is super hard to find there's days, and I really appreciate you providing this for us all. Thank you

Remember when we relied on "service stations" for it all…read more.. Now it seems like it's less service and more "self service" and yet we still pay more for gas...sigh! This shell is right on a super busy intersection of South Beretania and McCully just before the overpass to enter H1 and have been a pit stop of mine for various reasons. The convenience of a separate area for air and vacuum, free use of squeegee, a convenient store filled with just about everything including an ATM or just to grab some gas because I've neglected to fill before I start my journey. Along with their current early bird promotion of a free 12oz coffee with any fill up of 8 gallons or more from 6am to 8am daily they also partnered with T-Mobile of $0.15 off per gallon considering the price for a regular was at $4.799 (as of Oct 29, 2023) every bit counts. Another guilty convenience that I do love is because they're on the corner I've taken much advantage of using it to pass through the two driveways...hey the traffic gets rough here at times and thankfully I get to reset myself and my ride. Thank you!

How prophetic- see Jennifer Y's review from a few months ago…read more Evidently Fort Ruger Market closed yesterday on April 14, 2026. Great memories over the decades. Too bad it didn't play out well. The boiled peanuts were always a buy when we were in the mood. A posting this morning on the doors indicates they will re-open after renovation (does not mention timetable). Social media indicated they closed down 4/14/26. Same owner? New owner? Totally different business? Would be a shame if the iconic "Fort Ruger Market" disappears. If you lived in Kaimuki or went to Kapiolani Community College, this store was an example of the mom n pop stores that used to dot many neighborhoods before the arrival of 7-11 and other convenience stores. They were a Kaimuki Institution for over 75+ years. Hope they come back in a new and better form. Posted notice seen 4/15/26. Note: 4/16/26- a kitv news broadcast indicated that the owner, connected with the Young Fish Market family, told KITV after renovation the bldg would be occupied by CU Korean store, and that they would carry some of the Ruger Mkt favorites like poke and boiled peanuts . Hope they can incorporate the Fort Ruger Market name. Too iconic to disappear.

Walked in, saw the case was empty but waited for the person behind the counter so I could ask him if they were making/bring any out. First off, that guy was super awkward and just stared at me without a greeting. I said hi and asked if they had any poke. He slowly shook his head and said "no, we don't have any poke right now". I asked if they were gonna bring some out. He turned around to look at the lady behind him (who was already busy doing something else) then turned back around to look at me and continued to slowly shake his head and only said "no". So I just stared back at him and said ooookkkaayyyy.... What kind of place advertises poke but not have any poke on a Saturday close to lunch time nor has staff competent enough to help. I would completely understand if I went later in the afternoon but this was only a little before lunch. And no poke?! Cmon I looked at the hot food section and didn't see any lechon. So again, I asked if they had lechon today. SAME RESPONSE - looks at the case, then looks at me, and slowly shakes his said and says "no". Ummm....alright then... I wasn't going to get anything at all after this interaction and lack of food choices but the adobo did look good so I got a bowl of that. The food itself was good, a little oily, but what pork adobo isn't? I won't be going back anytime soon. That guy was useless and awkward and poke won't be guaranteed for lunch.
