Another Gas station a lot cheaper than most places other than Costco . Located right across the street from Waikiki library and the Ala Wai Golf course is Ala Wai Texaco . Regular 4.52 a gallon and premium 4.97. My car only takes premium and the average premium rate is 5.09 or higher . This Texaco breaks the 5.00 mark. Also this gas station has a nice convenient mini mart that has everything from musubi, drinks , beer, also a ATM machine. Also it could be my imagination but I really like Texaco gasoline because it burns a lot slower than most . Let me explain what I mean by burning for example when I fill up my tank with Aloha Gasoline it really goes down faster than if I would have fill up on Texaco gasoline . The convenience of this gas station is great! My gosh how it magically evolved over the year as I remember it being Chevron I believe? First of all it was the place for me to get the best hotdog pre-Costco it had it all with the drinks and snacks and all things for your car short of a mechanic. With this location just outside of Waikiki and in the residential area of Kapahulu it can get quite busy but having a light signal has its major convenience of making a left or right turns without worries. On this day though I'm apologize it was just for my windows as they baaaaaaadly needed a spritz with birds leaving me gifts just a quick wipes is all I needed and they do have it here which is super hard to find there's days, and I really appreciate you providing this for us all. Once in a while we come in here for the pay as you go vacuums for baby black & baby white. First of all, it's hard to find a gasoline station that has vacuum in this island and I find it a bit frustrating sometimes. This self-serve gas station might be chaotic sometimes. There's a lot of things going around & homeless people come by through. But yeah, let's focus in our experience. Conveniency, it's superb. Just a few minute drive from where we live. Great gas quality too & accepts credit card payment. Went here last week & unfortunately vacuums aren't available. SOMEBODY FIXED IT PLEASE! Convenient store is also available in here where you can just simply swing by and grab your newspaper, small bites or your coffee to start your day. Few restaurants nearby to grab your Onolicious kine grindz! By far, I'm lovin' this gas station. And even though we bought the portable vacuum, we still swing by & check if it is available to use. Kapahulu Avenue is literally lined with gas stations, and all of them are one of the lowest priced on Oahu. It used to have all gas stations before Shell left, which I greatly miss. The first gas station in line from Waikiki is Texaco. There are 12 pumps and easily accessible going in and out. However, this gas station does get busy at certain hours with numerous taxis, limos, and mini tour buses all gassing their Large Capacity tanks. The convenience store is nice, clean, cool, and organized with friendly service. There's several parking stalls, and also coin-operated air and water stations. Other than the first three pumps nearest to the sidewalks, the whole place is spacious and easy to maneuver around cars. Texaco is the more expensive gas if you're comparing to Hele, Aloha, and 76, but from my experience, Texaco gets better mileage. In addition, if you have Safeway awards, you get 10-20 cents discount per gallon. read more

A very convenient location for gas. When our guests ask for a gas station I recommend this location. On October 23rd at 850,pm after work we stopped by for gas, I wanted some 7up for my upset stomach. As we walked towards the convenience store the cashier looked up from smoking his cigarette and said in a rude tone "what you guys need! I replied, gas and....he interrupted by saying you can pay at the pump! My husband told him I'm paying with cash, he again interrupted by saying you can pay with your credit card! He was just down right rude! My husband ask if he had a problem with him paying cash and he said no, why? He then told my husband to beat it and gave my husband back his cash. This idiot was smoking near the pumps and was apparently upset because we interrupted his smoke break. Ken Yonemitsu has a kind heart and gives people a second chance in life. This boy apparently doesn't appreciate Ken's generosity. I will no longer be referring people here as long as this idiot is working there, sorry Ken. They offer the lowest priced Chevron gas in town. They have 8 pumps so you don't have to wait a long time like Costco. I know Costco is a lot cheaper but think about how much time you waste. Does it really even out? The best time to go is at night around 10pm. There are very little cars so you can take your time and also wash your windows. They have a sponge squeegee thing, water, and paper towels at each pump. The water might be dirty sometimes but just don't dunk the sponge all the way to the bottom and you should be fine. When I worked in Waikiki part-time for many years, I'd drive down Kapahulu Ave and would notice the Chevron prices here are lower than the ones near my house and in the town area. So, I made it a habit to fill-up my tank here whenever I'm in the Waikiki area. It's quite convenient here and once in a while you have to wait but it's best to come during "odd" hours, which would be either early mornings (5am or 6am) or after dinner time. I would have given this place a higher rating but one day I had a problem and walked inside only to deal with a middle-aged Asian woman. She was very rude and when I asked her a question, she had this disgusted facial expression and brushed me off. I ignored her rudeness at first but when she couldn't answer my question and brushed me off I spoke up to express my dissatisfaction. I didn't realize there was an elder Japanese man, who turned out to be the owner's father. He apologized to me for the clerk's rudeness and mentioned that clerk has received complaints from customers before. I usually pay via credit card so I don't bother to enter the store anymore. Yes, the gas is cheaper and if I'm in that area I'll swing by but won't take the chance in bumping into that clerk again. This Chevron station on Kapahulu Avenue is quite popular. It can be attributed to offering good gas prices (for Hawaii) and its close proximity to Waikiki. But this location is very busy. There can be a line to wait to get gas here. It is not easy to exit here too. You have to watch for traffic and pedestrians on the sidewalk. There are numerous gas stations nearby with similar pricing so clearly the Chevron name and perhaps the mini mart are the draws. I would only recommend this station unless you only want to fill up with Chevron gas. That said, there are a couple Chevron stations within close distance that are not crowded as this one, that you might want to patronize instead. read more

I have always been a fan of Chevron because of their great quality of gasoline and relative clean business premises. This Chevron includes a convenience store to help you get things at a convenience and it is located on the cusp of Waikiki. Landmarks close by include Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and the Honolulu Zoo. I have never actually interacted with anyone here because I use my credit card at the pumps and never have a need to go into their convenience store. I find going in and out of the driveways here are mostly painless even during rush hour. Pay as you go vacuums are available to help keep your interior clean. read more

They usually have good prices on gas. I put some gas on 1/2/13 about 11:20 pm. I put $30.00 regular @ $3.90 a gallon. Today I look at my online statement and see an additional $126.00! My tank is only 18 gallons at the most. So $156.00=40 gallons gas. I never ever hit past $60.00 on a fill up. This Chevron is a bit out of our way but when you have two fussy little babies who love car rides to help them fall asleep, this is the perfect location and the price of gas is perfect too. It's generally a few cents cheaper than the Chevron near our house. The only downside to this station is that they are generally pretty crowded and the lot seems small but cars are able to maneuver around well and tend to move quickly through the pumps so you can get in and get out relatively fast. We've been there at various times of the day and I haven't seen a time where this station is empty (which I think is a good sign for any business). read more

Cheapest gas in town, besides Costco and Sam's Club. Not only you can fill up your gas, but you can stop in at the Food Mart. Is small but I love this location because is right across from the Ala Wai Driving Range, so I can get my water before hitting those golf balls.
