Hot and steamy. Better than dim sum "lup cheong " roll
Winnie L.

Came here for some icees after playing a few hours of tennis at DH Tennis Center. I didn't know I needed a lup cheong roll in my life until I was staring at it at checkout. Who knew that 7-11 has grab and go items just like Japan. This roll tasted better than dim sum...and I eat a lot of it. They had a variety of icee flavors but unfortunately not all were available or full. The cola one was thirst quenching especially on a hot day.

People probably don't know but the 7-eleven in Oahu actually sell snacks from Japan's 7-eleven stores! The selection is limited but they are very good! So if you're visiting the island you should definitely check them out!

Wide selection of snacks and hot and case items. Distinctly Hawaiian atmosphere, worth a visit. Super easy service for grab and go masubi.

The closest 7-Eleven in my area. You guys don't have any idea how grateful I am with y'all for saving me from hunger. It's a quick eats that sustain my tummy who's hungry all the time. Glad we got this location! My favorites were the musubis, egg sandwiches, pork hash & the red spaghetti which is only available in 7-eleven Hawaii. There's always something for everyone and you will get hungry when you are here too, LOL. Customer service is good and this specific location ain't perfect just like other locations. Homeless come here and sometimes stayed outside which is kinda off coz they don't really smells nice. What I love 'bout this location is that they are the only location I saw that has a sink where you can actually wash your hands with soap & I frickin' love it to the nth degree! Sanitation is a must and it would be super nice that a convenient store has this option. I will be back to get my pasta craving soon. Thank you for the service. Mahalo for reading & happy juandering fellow Yeeps!

Spicy tuna handroll

I've been looking forward to visiting 7-eleven on my trip way before I arrived in Hawaii because the 7-Eleven in California got nothing on Hawaii!!! My favorite items from here is the spicy tuna handrolls, the pork/shrimp hash and the charsui manapua! I swear I can live off eating the food offered here! I love how affordable & convenient it is and the food is actually good! As I'm writing this review and back in California, I truly miss this place already!!

711 in HI beats them all in CA haha Hot deli items along with fridge items that you can buy cold and heat up later - musubi, baos, bentos Instant ramen selection is also great Teriyaki Musubi- probably my favorite Miso Salmon- bb favorite Spicy Shrimp Katsu- it's a minced shrimp, not bad and fun to try but don't think I'd order again Spam Cheese Musubi- not bad, a tad bit oily for my liking Staff is sweet You may see chickens walking around so drive slowly!

We were shopping around for bentos to take on a flight to the Mainland that didn't require refrigeration and could be heated in a microwave oven, if needed, at the airport. Given the morning departure and the current COVID-19 safety restrictions, we were making sure that we'd get to the airport at least 3 hours in advance. We didn't want to fiddle around with messy or complicated breakfast plates or snacks. We considered ordering our bentos the night before flying out when a little lightbulb went off in my head for 7-Eleven Hawaii. 7-Eleven stores were put into my consciousness when I remembered attending a 2018 YEE at the studios of local clothing designers Allison Izu and Ten Tomorrow, which included a perk from 7-Eleven Hawai'i's new local-style and healthy menu items. Then, another reminder popped in my pea-brain from reading Bruddah Fran's reviews of his beloved JUMBO GARLIC CHICKEN MUSUBI. We often go to Iyasume Musubi to get our musubi fix but, I couldn't see keeping the musubi overnight. I'm not a SPAM-eater like my husband and usually order my musubi with seafood, egg, or nattō in them. Knowing my food-likes, my husband shot me his "stink eye" to remind me not to order something that would stink up the plane! So, I suggested going to a 7-Eleven to my husband to try them out. Having never eaten 7-Eleven's bentos, sushi or musubi before and reading Bruddah Fran's reviews, we considered trying the musubi before flying out. So, as you can see, we went to 7-Eleven Hawai'i on August 7. Walking into this location, we were amazed by the variety of selections from hot and cold displays. They even had a microwave oven available for customers to use. Sorry that I didn't get the names of the male and female counter help, but both were very friendly and highly recommended the jumbo musubi for travel. While my husband was looking into the hot display case of the musubi varieties, I could see his eyes widening. I didn't even get a chance to tell him about Bruddah Fran's suggestion when my husband reached for two of the Jumbo Garlic Chicken musubis and the Longanisa musubis. I was still browsing the store as I was distracted by their assortment of protective face masks when I heard my husband saying, "Let's Go!" I have a running rule to NOT eat or drink in my car but, my husband must've been hangry as he drove to nearby Kapiolani Park to tear into the musubis. If you're a musubi-lover, both musubi were flavorful and had lots of meat in them. The rice was a bit on the stickier side than what I like, and the nori was soft from being steamed inside the plastic food wrapping. The convenience of this 7-Eleven is excellent for residents and visitors who are staying at nearby Waikīkī. The customer service is friendly, and the store is well-maintained. I felt safe shopping in here with their COVID-19 safety procedures, and best of all, there weren't unsavory characters nearby. The musubi were inexpensive, flavorful, and generously portioned, which we returned for a couple of days later for our pre-flight snacks. We'll be back for picnic or post-hiking adventures.

Salted egg custard manapua in the fridge
Anna F.

When I worked in downtown Honolulu, I would always get pork hash but during the pandemic, I was doing work from home. I still wanted pork hash so I would come here to buy the 6-piece pack in the fridge and reheat them myself in the morning for breakfast. If you come in the evenings, all the cold dim sum packs are sold out. It's best to come around noon or early afternoon because that's when I saw the staff restocking. A new dim sum item that recently came out was the salted egg custard manapua. Those are good because the filling oozes out of the manapua after you reheat it. Pro tip, get the ones in the fridge because the ones in the heater are already oozing out filling at the bottom in the tray. Other items I like are the fuji apple black tea (by 7-Eleven) and the teriyaki spam musubi. This location is on Kapahulu Ave. by Rainbow Drive Inn and it has a lot of tourists coming in and buying beverages. Sometimes, the line to pay gets so long that it reaches the slurpee machine. There are a few parking spaces in front by the entrance and I always manage to get an open spot. If all the parking spots are taken, give it a few minutes and someone will leave. No one needs to spend more than 5 minutes in this place since it's all grab and go items.

Today's Gas Prices (1-18-2020)

Only (3) stars for this 7- Eleven that sits across da street from da Kapahulu Rainbow Drive-In??? How can be gang??? Dat ain't right yo!!! So I come here to this 7-Eleven weekly to fill my tank up for my company vehicle, as I prefer to use 76 gasoline, but as a bonus I also come here because when I go to other 7-Eleven store & they run out of my beloved Garlic Chicken Musubi, this store for some reason always has what I'm looking for!!! As you know, besides the wonderful fast food snacks you can pick up here, there is an abundance of drinks you can get should you get thirsty. Now if I can add my two cents about this store, because I know the fine management team of 7-Eleven will read this - 1. A few of your gas pumps, the receipt at the pumps does not work. After I finish pumping my gas, I basically need this receipt for work, but sometimes when the gas pump printer malfunctions, I have to go into the store to ask a clerk for a receipt. Now a few times when I went inside, the clerks who where there tells me that they cannot give me a receipt because they have closed/change-over??? (I normally buy my gas late at night.) To me, it's just a simple request to get a receipt, but as a customer, I feel the clerks make it so complicated, for a simple request!! Aiyah! So frustrating sometimes (Insert Sad Panda Face here). 2. This is probably beyond 7-Eleven's control, but late at night the store front can get pretty sketchy, as sometimes I see alot of unsavory characters hanging out in front of the store. To hang out is one thing, but when they get aggressive & panhandle, that's another issue. I know the store leads into Waikiki, but recently the situation has gotten worst. I always have to be on guard while I pump my gas at night. Aside from that, I do love this store, and I am happy that 7-Eleven management actually read my review about the Garlic Chicken Musubi I posted at the 7-Eleven store at the McCully Shopping Center. (Thank you for bringing back the Garlic Chicken Musubi! I make it appoint to try and eat one every week if possible!). :D If you folks haven't tried some of 7-Eleven's musubi's, I must tell you that you're really missing out! Chance 'em! No can go wrong!

Teriyaki spam musubi
Joyce T.

Located next to the rainbow drive in restaurant. I rather have spam musubi here than rainbow drive in. The musubi is warm in the display area, it's good deal with drinks for $3.99.

Chef D.

Our tour driver said 7-11 is a must! So we decided to give it a try. Spam Musubi is awesome and great if your on a budget. Also decided to get a few more items to try. Loves them all. Also got two coffee drinks all came out to about $22 for two people.

During lunch she sets up an array of entrees ... Honey Walnut shrimp, Beef with Vegetables, Meat Jun, Spicy Chicken, Choi Sum, Vegetable Pancake ... the selection varies by day and she offers two or three starches. A two-choice plate ($9.75) comes with a choice of white rice, fried rice or noodles. You have to go early; she can run out of food by 12:30pm. I usually choose one chicken dish and a vegetable with fried rice or noodles. A co-worker always gets the Honey-Walnut shrimp. It's hard to find a better deal in a plate lunch in downtown Honolulu. The prices of their freshly sliced fruit are very reasonable and the portions are generous. The plastic containers are packed to the brim. My opinion, lets start with spam, perfectly cooked, with secret sauce, love the umami taste while I took my first bite, and the rice is hot & moist, not watery & not premium rice but it is still good, along with the nori. I loved everything about this musubi. Great spam to rice ratio. The only thing that I need is some of my chili spices! Mom & Pop is super friendly, I remember asking how many musubi's they sell a day and owner mentioned they make and sell over 100 a day. Every time I walk inside, there's a strong, unpleasant odor that smells like sewage or fecal matter. It's consistent enough that it doesn't feel like a one-off issue--it's something you notice immediately when you enter the store. At times it seems stronger in certain areas, which makes me wonder if it's coming from plumbing, floor drains, or possibly even outside air getting pulled in. What's frustrating is that this location used to feel like one of the better-run stores on the island. Now, the overall impression is very different. Even if the shelves are stocked and the staff is doing their job, the environment itself really affects the experience of shopping there. What stands out is the comparison with nearby stores like Safeway, which don't seem to have the same issue, even though they serve the same general area. That contrast makes the problem at this location even more noticeable. I hope management takes a serious look at it, because this doesn't feel like a minor cleanliness issue--it feels like an infrastructure or maintenance problem that's been left unresolved for too long. It's a shame, because the store has a lot of potential and used to be a go-to spot.
