If a company has an opportunity to earn my business, this in itself is the accolade and where it ends for me--customer satisfaction is a deliverable not an expectation. I don't owe any company a set of handstands, a shout out or a seal like round of applause. However, there comes a time in your journey when you don't have to be visited by 3 ghosts to give credit where and when it's due. I have never written a review of any company and I'm only just joining the ranks of those who do for the first time today. I feel supremely compelled to provide a well earned review of AIM--simply put, they did the darn thing folks. If you're in the market for a thorough, unbiased and a well appointed assessment of a vehicle--put yourself on the winning side. In short...the vehicle, 2005 Saab 9-3 17k miles for sale in MA--I live no where near MA. Low miles, great photos, all the gingerbread inside and super clean Auto Check. I've owned Saab vehicles all my life and this appeared to be the holy grail I had been looking for. For all you skeptics reading this review, I'm no foolish starry eyed school girl and I've never been classified as a "bag of loose screws". The chances of me attempting to drive an incredible distance across mulitple state lines to assess this vehicle, was firmly remote indeed. I contacted Carchex on several occasions...voicemail, disconnected and no return call to date. In response to the myriad of questions I asked, Lemon Squad asked me if I was an attorney. They placed me on hold and stated "if you are an attorney, we prefer that you seek out another company and if you place an order, we will refund you in real time". Last on the list of companies to call with reasonable assessments...AIM, but the reviews were limited. One call folks, all questions asked and answered without hesitation-they even transferred me to the person who coordinates the assessments (Mr. Hipwell) for a higher level of clarity. He answered a litany of questions, IMd the dispatcher in MA and within 30 seconds she said they could assess the vehicle within 48 hours of receiving the online order/payment. If the vehicle was sold before the scheduled assessment, payment would be refunded. I placed the order online (no jumping through hoops or ridiculous fishing expedition nonsense) and received a confirmation with the scheduled date and time within 30 minutes. AIM contacted the automobile dealer and made the arrangements to assess the car on my behalf. Soooooo now they have my money and I'm relying on their expertise to make an informed decision...go figure. Early the next day following the inspection...I received an email, it's the report! One word...COMPREHENSIVE....no Mickey Mouse or kitchen table bullcrap--photos, detailed vignettes of information on each area of assessment, close ups, under the hood, under the vehicle, tire measurements, measurements of every single defect, measurements of the accident damage, re-painting, rust, the list is endless and also included a full summary. Two things I'd like to point out, the dealer advertised the Autocheck and it did not indicate the vehicle had been in an accident. In fact, the owner said it was accident free and a one owner vehicle--this was far from the truth. I received the Carfax from AIM and the vehicle was involved in an accident and sustained damage--two owners on record. AIM validated this through their inspection and noted the vehicle as repainted and poorly--the paint was peeling in the area that sustained damage. They photographed all rusted areas underneath the vehicle--I suspected rust because of the limited amount of miles driven. But, I would have not rolled up underneath the car to check all the business out--they really peeled back the onion and captured everything. Including exposing the gross misrepresentation of the facts about the vehicle. Needless to say, not sure if a purchase would have occured had I went and assessed the vehicle myself. The dents, peeling paint and bologna skin tires would have raised some red flags and evoked the notion of a deal breaker--but, the low miles would have put me on the fence. Thank God, I did not waste my manpower, time and expense to assess the vehicle myself. Instead, I trusted AIM--as I mentioned early, customer satisfaction is a deliverable and AIM delivered the darn thing for less than $140.00. read more
