She took my information and I was called later that day by a supervisor in Michigan who also apologized profusely, immediately rescheduled my inspection for today and also asked me to recount in detail my poor experience with the previous inspector. He said that it shouldn't have happened and it would be reported to the appropriate personal. Today the inspector had a great attitude and was legitimately helpful with my explaining potential repairs and my best course of action. Had this been my initial experience my entire takeaway would be different. AiM is a company that is clearly marred by substandard employees both in the call centers and in the field. I suggest they improve their standards for workers and training to avoid the situations myself and others here have experienced.

Flash forward a couple hours later, after fixing my car myself, I left a bad Google review for this guy so that people know he is a scammer. Well he replies and makes up a whole story about how I was cussing him out for a long time and interupting other customers. His story in the review had several contradictions in it and he must have realized it, since he deleted it or challenged my review via the system. After reviewing the other reviews, it appears clear to me that he is manipulating the Google system for a better rating. Definitely avoid if you do not know about auto repairs. Strange scamming behavior.

The charge was $25 more than the estimate but when I questioned this a refund was offered. Inspection was completed on a tight deadline as promised The problem: I didn't get the results. They had been sent yo an email address different than I was using. Several calls and messages leading up to my flight time didn't get a response so i had to take a chance and board the flight without the results. With only two hours remaining before finalizing the purchase, I got a brief summary that there was nothing major unexpected. The battery would need replacement within about a year. Whether this was the 12V battery or the HV battery? Didn't say. It was at the pick-up location 5 minutes to the meeting time I first got info that this was the HV battery that showed initial failure signs. There was no information about the cost implication ($22,000) and only the manufacturer's evaluation was said to be truly accurate.The inspector said the belief was this had been communicated by the owner (it hadn't and this is sort of the point of inspection). With no reaction or research time, the transaction was completed. Within 24 hours the ignition system no longer recognized either of the two keys and the driver's door handle stopped opening the door. Later inside the car i found written notes about the failed door handle. I don't know if these were the owner's or inspector's. Someone knew it was a problem in advance. I spent a 350-mile trip climbing in through the hatchback and no idea of the repair cost. The keys both needed batteries. $10. No big deal. Except they stranded me at 3AM middle of nowhere with no replacements available. I haven't read the actual report yet to offer an opinion of quality in the write-up or formatting. There wasn't much point in reading a pre-purchase report after the purchase. If I do read it I may add an update or change my rating. So some aspects of this inspection were correct but the final result did not achieve the goal of making an informed decision and avoiding issues. At most I can say it only served to validate the enormous problem i might be facing.

They tore the engine down on my 2015 s3 for half of the price, checked everything with a bore scope, verified timing, checked compression, found the stretched chain, and actually showed me proof of everything. Then when more issues came up, they kept going they found the fuel pump leaking into the oil, replaced it, fixed the fouled plugs, changed the oil, road‑tested it, and even diagnosed a bad cam adjuster solenoid by swapping sensors and confirming the code moved. Meanwhile, Signal Hill Foreign Auto Service charged me $2,160 just to take the top off and gave me a vague summary with zero photos, zero proof, and tried to upsell me into a full rebuild. Instead of doing a professional deep dive inspection like how these guys did! Now I happily have a refreshed car and paid an extremely reasonable price after inspection and cant wait to ship it out here in Chicago knowing my car is bullet proof! Items that were in a container next to my seat was lifted up and everything inside was scattered on top of the seat as well as the bottom of the passenger area.
