Valet: You start off by attempting to Valet park. There is a line multiple cars long with no valet in sight. After waiting for a while, people begin to just park their own cars in the valet parking lot. Then the lone valet attendant comes and parks your car right in front of you, but prior to doing so he gives you a long spiel on how valet works and how he only operates on tips, although he omits how to retrieve your car and you are not handed a ticket. You inquire about it and he pulls out 3 crumbled up tickets out of his pocket, I mean so crumpled up you can barely read the numbers, he uncrumbles one and hands it to you, it's pretty much on the verge of disintegrating, you hope that you can keep it intact. 10 minutes post parking lot fiasco you are now primed to to dine!
Restaurant: You walk in with a reservation, they tell you unfortunately there is a wait but that they have a corner table they can give you. The corner table is essentially adjoined with another table and should not even be a table so you decline.
The hostess then offers to take your drink order while you wait, so you order drinks. About 20 minutes go by and you have still not gotten a drink so you check in on it. At this point you start to understand that the entire place seems to be run by high schoolers on sedatives with the initiative of someone who isn't getting paid.
A total of 32 minutes later after ordering the bartender starts to make your drink, all while small talking his coworkers who are texting behind the bar. After texting he makes a remark about how he shattered some glass. The other bartender asks to make sure that it didn't go near the preparation area due to microglass, at least some initiative for your safety is being displayed.
You get the drinks, they're pretty solid and you start to scroll on OpenTable for somewhere else to dine as it's been 40 minutes at this point and not a single person has gotten up from their table, which leads you to believe if making two drinks takes 35 minutes, omakase must take hours. You starts to think "man I should've just gone to MF Sushi, Soto, Uchi, Nobu, anywhere but here" You get on OpenTable to see where else you can go. It's now been 42 minutes and your table is now ready, you decline the table and ask for the check on your drinks. The bartender remarks "oh don't worry about it" you think wow the silver lining is here, drinks have been comped! Then he goes "I can just add it to your table" completely oblivious that you are asking for the check to leave, anyone who has dined out obviously knows you can charge it to your table. You then slam your drinks and leave to go next door to B&B which is always impeccable. read more
