Sushi chaser me--I do not live here and lived in LA where sushi is a religion. Aiko would qualify and I'm a sushi snob big time. One of my criteria is do they have engawa--and they sure did. Engawa is flounder/halibut fin. They sear it and that must be standard because I ordered 2 separate times. Absolutely loved everything I ordered.
We just went here for the 2026 HRW and we were pleasantly impressed. The options for each course were great choices, I went with coworkers but we all got different items to try and rate. This place was very unique and had such a cool feel to it. Very small but quaint and thoughtfully decorated. Service was great and I have no complaints there. The Sunomono was honestly the highlight of my meal and I feel like I could eat that everyday. I picked the Maguro Crudo and it was so fresh and clean and just the right amount of sauce, perfection. The two handrolls I picked were Kani and BF Tuna. The tuna was optimal and had the perfect balance and ration of constituents as well as the right amount of flavor. The Kani I was a little disappointed in, it was like eating tuna fish. Lastly, I got the mochi matcha and while the flavor was good, the consistency was a little weird. Probably not something I would get again. I will be back very soon to try the main menu and eat more sunomono.
A great spot for a dinner night out! We really enjoyed our experience at Aiko, from the drinks to the crudo, nigiri, and desserts. Everything came together for a really enjoyable dinner, and I loved the overall experience. Definitely a place I'd go back to and would recommend for a nice night out!
Great opportunity to try Aiko during Houston Restaurant Weeks. The salmon crisp was amazing as well as the salmon hand roll and crab hand roll. We also tried the seared salmon belly nigiri (Saketoro Aburi) and even though it's a bit pricey it's sooooo good, buttery and melt in your mouth. Definitely worth a try if you get the chance! Service was quick and the waitress was attentive and our waters were constantly filled. Vibes are great, very closed off from the front and fancy feeling, amazing hallway to the bathroom as well!
2nd time I've been here and it did not disappoint! I came here for Houston restaurant week and it was so worth it. I love the service and ambiance of this restaurant. It's very intimate and the staff are kind. The food is high quality and presentation is always 10/10.
Loved the food here! The fish is super fresh and high quality and even the non-sushi menu items had great flavors and were well executed. I got the pan daiquiri as my drink to start and my friend got the herbed lavender lemonade. For food we shared the hamachi crudo, the chutoro nigri, the kanpachi nigiri, the A5 tartare, the kani handroll, The kinoko yasaimono, and the hot scallop dish to share. The pan daiquiri was SO good. The smokiness from the mezcal hits you first and then the sweet and creamy after taste takes over. It was so well mixed and I would highly recommend trying this if you are a mezcal lover like me. (9/10) The herbed lavender lemonade was too tangy and sweet for my liking. The lavender flavor get lost in the drink. It tasted like a typical lemonade, nothing special. (5/10) The hamachi crudo was so fresh and I really enjoyed the sweet and tangy broth. I'm not sure I would call it tom kha broth but it tasted good regardless and paired well with the tomatoes. (7.5/10) The chutoro nigiri was SO buttery and melt in your mouth delicious. I would definitely get this again. (8.8/10) The kanpachi nigiri was fresh and I enjoyed the sauce paired with it. It was my first time trying amberjack and I liked it. (7/10) The A5 tartare was super unique and well seasoned. There was plenty of tartare compared to the amount of milk bread you are given to eat it with. The uni, caviar, pate and waygu all mixed together was a decadent combination full of flavor. My only note was the contrast in temperatures that I did not love, the tartare came cold while the milk bread was warm. Overall, a very luxurious and tasty dish. (8/10) The kani handroll surpassed my expectations. Typically I don't go for crab first, but I did enjoy the flavors paired with the crab and the hand roll was well filled. (7.8/10) The kinoko roll (king trumpet mushroom roll) really surprised me. I was weary about getting this roll because I normally don't opt for vegan options, but this king mushroom was so well prepared and the sauce was so delicious that dare I say that I enjoyed this more than some of the fish/meat sushi rolls I've had in the past. (8/10) The hot scallop dish was one of the best bites of the night. The scallop was perfectly charred and cooked and the creamy polenta base with the umami salmon roe, with the fried red cabbage to add texture was amazing. I would definitely order this again. (9/10) Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Aiko and the food surpassed my expectations. I loved everything I tried and do want to come back to try more. The service was quick and helpful with the menu. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there are some free street parking spots around the plaza. The ambiance is definitely upscale and classy. It's a great place for a date! My only complaint was that I made a reservation for 2 at least a week in advance and upon arrival, though they had plenty of open tables, we were seated at the opposite end of a table that was already occupied. We were close enough to hear their entire conversation throughout dinner, and I just thought it was an odd experience because that had never happened to me before. Though it did not hinder me from enjoying the food I would have preferred to be seated at our own table.
Went on a pretty packed night, but had a good anniversary dinner here. We got the premium omakase and a couple of extra hand rolls. Food was great. Foie gras was true melt in mouth, as was the salmon belly. Amberjack and sea bream were overall my favorite bites. There were great vibes and music in the main dining area. The manager and waitress even came out to take a shot with us! Great anniversary date spot.
Unarguably one of my favorite restaurants in Houston, I'm talking top 3. During this visit I went for Social hour and everything shown is from the social hour menu aside from the Kanpachi Crudo. The food was fresh and everything was at a good temperature from the rice in the rolls and nigiri to the topping on the crudos and the heat of the chicken. The food here is amazing. The cocktails were well balanced and the service has been professional every time I visit. Clean restaurant not too loud and very aesthetically pleasing. Just goated tbh
For the past year, Aiko has become our favorite restaurant in Houston. And anytime friends reach out wanting my sushi recs or even an all-time favorite restaurant in Houston rec, Aiko is one of my top picks. We almost always get the omakase ($45 during social hour). If the beau is really hungry, he'll get the tasting menu, which runs about $150. They time our courses perfectly, and I appreciate they can accommodate my GF request. After an introduction to it on a tasting menu, we started ordering the raw oysters topped with aguachile and YUZU GRANITA! Best dressed oysters in Houston. Seriously. And for happy hour, they're $3/each. You also must order the saketoro aburi (seared salmon belly) and hamachi crudo. We just dined there yesterday and as I'm writing this Yelp review, considering we go back today. ...Really wish they had a rewards program!
I thought Aiko delivered a really memorable meal. Overall I'm giving this place 5 stars -- the quality of the fish and the execution were excellent -- though personally I did find the progression of courses a little rich toward the end. For context, Aiko is part of the same group as Doko (their sushi omakase concept) and Handies Douzo (their handroll-focused restaurant), and you can definitely see the overlap in technique and flavor profiles across the restaurants. We went for the Valentine's omakase menu. The meal started with the Oyster Duo. One had a yuzu granita and aguachile that was bright and refreshing, while the other had a roasted onion soubise with smoked trout roe that leaned richer and more savory. Nice contrast between the two. One of my favorite early dishes was the chilled zaru soba. The buckwheat noodles had a great chewy texture and the mentsuyu broth was light and refreshing with mirin, mushroom, and seaweed notes. It was a really nice palate reset. The smoked ocean trout sashimi (masu) was another standout. It had garlic aioli on top with oil and black pepper, and the tomato added a crunchy brightness that balanced the richness of the fish. It's a simple combination but worked surprisingly well. The temaki course was excellent. The snow crab handroll had this creamy mayo texture with chili and crunchy shallots, and you can tell they roast the seaweed sheets right before serving because the nori had an incredible crunch -- honestly some of the best texture I've had in a handroll. It reminded me a lot of the style they do at Handies. For the hirame crudo with pomegranate and shiso, the flavor was good but a bit more subtle. I think the pistachio really helps that dish; without enough of it the flavors felt a little muted. I know pomegranate and pistachio is a common flavor pairing for middle eastern cuisines. My partner has a tree nut allergy so they removed it for both of us. The wagyu fat rice was very indulgent. The first thing you taste is the wagyu fat, but the fried shallots and other crunchy elements help balance it out. The sauce reminded me a lot of something you'd get at Doko -- rich but very satisfying. Adding fried rice in between fish courses was an interesting choice from the chef, but I think Aiko aims to be more western fusion than a traditional Japanese omakase. The tuna trio was fantastic. The chutoro with negidare (garlic, sesame oil, scallion) was probably my favorite bite of the night -- super flavorful and perfectly balanced. The foie gras course leaned sweet and savory, almost like an eel sauce flavor with some crunch on top. Delicious, but by this point in the progression I was definitely feeling the richness of the meal. Dessert was a milk tea tiramisu that I thought was really interesting. The mascarpone layer had a tartness to it -- almost like there might be a little sour cream mixed in -- and one layer had a subtle salty note that balanced the sweetness. Overall, the food quality was excellent and the fish was clearly very fresh. My only minor critique is that the progression of courses skewed a bit rich for my personal preference, especially in the second half of the meal. That said, every dish was thoughtfully executed and there were some truly standout bites. If you enjoy creative omakase with some richer flavor profiles, Aiko is definitely worth trying.
Absolutely love this place, hands down one of my favorite sushi spots in Houston. High-quality sushi without being as insanely expensive as Katami. I always get the $55 omakase, which is so worth it for the price. The omakase includes: - Edamame to start -Salmon crudo: insanely fresh, citrusy yuzu flavor, & ikura paired perfectly. I literally cleaned the plate (10/10) - 5 nigiri: beautifully dressed, high-quality fish (9/10) - Salmon hand roll: crunchy nori, extra crunch inside, super satisfying (9/10) - Mochi to end on a sweet note Other dishes I've tried: - Oysters: a bit small, but I liked the yuzu flavor (7/10) - Karaage: perfectly breaded, juicy chicken with a slight kick (9/10) - Engawa nigiri: my absolute favorite. Lightly torch seared so it melts in your mouth (10/10) - A5 wagyu maki: great flavor and texture, just wished the wagyu stood out more (8/10) - Chutoro w/ uni & caviar: chef made this for us and WOW. No words. (10000/10) - Masu Kunsei (ocean trout) nigiri: not fishy at all, perfect texture, dressed beautifully (9/10) - Madai nigiri: clean, fresh, and very memorable (9/10) Ambiance is dark and intimate, perfect for date night. You can sit at the bar or at a table, and even the hallway to the restroom is aesthetic with mirrors and plants. Service was fast and attentive. If I could eat sushi here every other day, I absolutely would. 10/10.
pretty interior. friendly staff. fresh food, you can tell it is more than other sushi restaurants. it has a clean taste and is very good. dessert was interesting flavors as well. enjoyed my time here.
Big fan of this sushi bar. This was our first time sitting at the actual bar, however. We got some good recommendations from the chef, and got to eyeball everything coming out of the kitchen as it left. They even included a few free items as we were later in service, which was a nice touch. I'd maybe recommend against the foie gras tart. A little too much foie gras for me, not enough sweet. Will definitely be back! read more
New sushi on Washington Ave! Right next to Tacodeli. They share the parking lot next to them. Reservations are recommended. We walked in as we were in the neighborhood and have been eyeing at it. I'd sya the vibe is contemporary, like many new ones. Inside room is very cold. There is no outside sitting. There are spaces for dates, small groups or bigger ones. Taste is fresh. Nigiris, sahimis, handrolls and omakase options. Notice, there are no rolls. If I recall accurately, there are 3 tiers of omakase: 3 pieces ($35), 5 pieces ($55) or 8-pieces ($95). Hand rolls are about $7-12, one option with caviar. Several crudos types. I'd suggest to try it for experience. As another Yelper pointed out, you may not feel fulfilled even after the 8-piece omakase. Cost is more towards $$$. If you are ordering all together, specify you'd like the crudo to be served first. They gave us the crudo + hand rolls, which left the nori less than the cripiness its supposed to be served in. Self note. The path to the restrooms is funky looking. Golden mirrored walls, garnished with thin bamboo sticks. Walk through for about 10 steps and find two enclosed doors, still golden mirrored. No markings. Good overall. More for special events. Not for casual. read more

I just went here for my boyfriend's birthday. He loved every moment. The drinks kept flowing and service was on point from drinks to desert. We definitely splurged today and got the $175 per person omakase and sake pairing for $50. Jesus and Lam took care of us at the sushi bar and even gave us some extra items because it was my boyfriend's birthday. I loved the welcoming atmosphere and the chic vibe! I would recommend for special events. read more
Aiko is the perfect spot for any sushi/HH lover! I finally got to try the HH menu and it's decently priced. We ordered several drinks, oysters, karaage with caviar, foie gras nigiris, and the $45 dollar HH omakase. Oysters were super refreshing with the yuzu. The omakase included edamame, 1 negitoro handroll, 1 sake crudo, and 4 nigiri pieces (madai, kanpachi, sake, akami). Fish quality was amazing as always. I tried the karaage with caviar for the first time this visit and loved the combination. Do yourself a favor, and get the foie gras nigiri! That bite was gone too soon. Aside from the HH menu, we ordered the matcha cheesecake for dessert. It was heavenly when paired with the matcha ganache. This restaurant is dimly lit, making it perfect for date night. Service is consistent throughout my time there. Our servers have been attentive each time, and the chefs love to spark up conversation to people sitting at the sushi bar. And I can't forget about the memorable path to the restroom. In totality, aiko has a great atmosphere accompanied by welcoming staff. I've been coming here since 2022. I love this place and expect nothing less from handies douzo's sister restaurant! Can't wait to be back! I already know what I want to try next! read more
Lol, boy was this place pricey.. but honestly, totally satisfying. First time we tried this sushi spot, on a Monday night with a baby. Total price tag, $434 not including tip.. we had a fancy omakase menu that cost $175 per person, yess and a bottle of sake. But everything was a delight. We left extremely full and satisfied.. so I'll start with a photo of all items we had from omakase menu and provide all dishes we had. We enjoyed every bit of it but two things towards the end.. 1. The hand roll, was a bit on the mayo side for me. ( I'm not a fan of mayo, so total turn off) Too plain and simple 2. The foie gras was overpowered with eel sauce.. it's fatty as it is then you add on too much sauce. It killed it for me. We finished every plate there and brought the sake home. Will we come back?? Most definitely. I couldn't post more pictures as 10 was what I was allowed, Sad face. Haha read more
My wife and I came early for dinner yesterday for my birthday dinner, and I'm so glad I did. Ritually, my amazing wife would book me a reservation for an omakase as a gift; Aiko was one of the first places that came to mind, being the "lovechild" of Kokoro's original founders, Daniel and Patrick--and yes, I did juxtapose the name of the restaurant. ::adjusts position of glasses at the bridge using 1 finger:: As expected, service is top notch. Waters were refilled pretty regularly as soon as the glass was dried up, and most importantly, the place has a proper sushi bar with some of the most humble and hilarious sushi chefs; you can really tell they love their craft. Today we were served by chef Jesse and Yung. We ordered a mid-tier preset omakase. After having lovely conversation with our guys, we learned so much about the foods we ate and that we are able to come in and be served true omakase by our chefs at Aiko. It's something I'm seriously looking forward to. I prefer Aiko over places similar to Uchi who tend to go a little overboard with seasoning their fish with ponzu sauces or fruit. Aiko showcases the quality of their protein properly. Their rice is on point, too. As some chefs would say the key to amazing sushi is good rice, and great rice is what they had. I thought the restaurant was beautiful and had the right amount of quirkiness to it. The build had a luxurious feel to it but is decorated with funkopops and rubber duckies. REAL moss lines the walls of the atrium with a humidifier that is multipurpose--it's quite clever and shows how intricate these guys are. I can't help but feel so at home... it's comforting. Anyway, Aiko gets 5-stars in my book for giving me such an amazing experience. They can expect me to be back within a couple-months time. I would highly recommend the following dishes off the top of my head from memory (it's been a while, so my apologies that I'm not recommending more items, but most of these dishes are serious hitters). 1. Scallop crudo 2. Chutoro 3. Chicken Karaage read more

aiko is one of the best spots in houston for affordable omakase! they have a great happy hour menu starting from 5-6:30. the hh omakase is $45 and includes edamame, two hand rolls, assorted nigiri pieces, and a refreshing crudo. aiko is from the team behind handies douzo and kokoro, offering similar menu items within a sit-down restaurant setting. i loved how they seasoned the rice. the fish was also high quality and so fresh! every bite was delicious! we left feeling satisfied without being overly full. what we got: - 5 pc nigiri - oyster shooters (a la carte) - maguro crudo - bluefin tuna handroll - kani (crab) handroll - edamame - vanilla chip and green tea mochi ig: @whatsviveating read more
Located next to Tacodeli and Platypus on Washington; it's a little difficult to find at first. Parking is available on the lot next to the building; additional parking should also be behind B&B if you want to try your luck. The guys that opened Kokoro and Handies Douzo are here as well so if you liked those, then Aiko could be your cup of tea. Interior is modern but quaint; there's a decent sized sushi bar and a few tables as well. Most of the menu seems like a combo of both of their other restaurants; crudo, hand rolls, sushi, and sashimi. We got some of everything and mostly everything was tasty. Quality of the fish seemed good! Service was fine as well. Price was on the high side for what it was; nothing really involved cooking and prep seemed pretty simple. If you straight up like raw fish, this can be your spot. I do prefer some hot dishes and apps though in an ideal sushi spot. read more

Came here for a bachelorette dinner and had a good experience. We did the omakase and it came with edamame, hotate, amberjack, sea brim, crab, duck breast, flounder, silver butterfish, and I got the otoro and hotate separately. The stand out dishes were the duck breast (so tender) and the otoro (buttery). The service was strange. We had multiple waitresses which makes sense for our larger party, but I honestly couldn't tell which ones were ours. Then some would explain and tell us what the dish was and some would just plop it on the table and walk off and we'd be reading the menu trying to see which item it was. They were nice though and gave the bride to be two complimentary dishes. Ambiance was semi-dark and this place has their go to photo op at the bathroom (looks like a lush green forest). read more

Best meal I've had this year, and easily the best raw fish I've had in Houston. Yes, over Uchi. I had had a large lunch but still went with the large omakase - and I didn't leave hungry. I forget how many pieces were in the meal but I forgot some pictures, and I remember at least two crudos and a spicy something hand roll. The important thing here is not the amount but the execution. The way they bring together for each piece is nothing short of art. I wouldn't get again: - seared wagyu - the piece with sturgeon caviar and quail egg But the seared pieces, esp the one with micro-flowers, and the piece with crunchy rice puffs were amazing. I would probably be more choosy the next time I go, but the large omakase is the way to go for the first impression and a good one. Quite loud and difficult parking so heads up. read more

Skip Aiko and go to sister Kokoro instead!! While this is a more formal restaurant with nice ambiance, I'd say it isn't worth the extra cost. Menu items are similar to Kokoro but 20% higher in price. On my visit, the restaurant was only 1/3 full but the service was dreadfully slow (more than 2hrs!) to the point we told the server we were in a rush to get the final items quickly. I preferred the quick Kokoro bar service to slow Aiko service, and also preferred Kokoro's interpretation of the menu items more. Overall, the only thing I liked more at Aiko was not having to sit at a bar height seat. read more
Hands down some of the best sushi I've had so far here in Houston. I have been to my fair share of sushi places in the Houston area, but this place just hits all the marks. I do highly recommend making reservations ahead of time before planning on coming here, as it does get busy. We came here to celebrate our Valentine's Day early and it's a good thing my boyfriend did because they were completely booked full on the actual day of Valentine's. Our chef that took care of our omakase experience, Michael, was awesome! He was friendly and very informative of the dishes we were tasting. We also did the Valentine's Day omakase, which was fairly priced at $150/person. They even added a couple of surprise dishes (as a gift since they were backed up). I don't fully remember every dish in detail, but what I do remember is that every dish was delicious. I didn't think it would be filling, but after the A5 Wagyu courses, I ended up being fully satisfied. The Alaskan king crab was to die for and the tuna belly and salmon belly are chef's kiss (my favorite). I definitely plan on coming here again for their Happy Hour menu or just for when I'm in the mood for some delicious sushi for reasonable prices! read more

Everything from the food to the ambience was amazing. My favorites has to be the cucumber, shishito peppers, and spicy tuna hand roll. These dishes were perfect as they are and so many layers of flavor. The only reason why I'm not giving it a 5 was because of the service. Everyone was nice, but not very professional, like what you would expect from a high end restaurant. read more

Came here for dinner with my gf for HRW 2024 and we sat at the sushi bar. Service from AK and Nick as well as the whole team was fantastic! Everyone was so personable and when I spilled my rosé they refilled me even though I told them they didn't need to. Sushi was so fresh and tasty, highly recommend y'all come here. read more
We decided to eat here because we love handies douzo. They are sister restaurants. The food is just as awesome. The dishes are always seasoned perfectly. I tried to take pics of all our dishes and label them correctly . My partner loved the eel so much we ordered it twice. No matter which restaurant you go to the crudo is always a hit. We also loved our eggplant dish. Service was on point. We will always go to this restaurant group for our sushi cravings. read more
I am an Aiko fan and supporter of their sister locations Handies Douzo and Kokoro. They are located on Washington Ave. across from Julep and next to the Puttery. There is a parking lot attached next to the building. I recommend making reservations ahead of time to guarantee a table/seating. They also take walk-ins and you can definitely have a seat at the bar that's left of the hostess stand. Dining at the sushi bar is a fun interactive experience. You get to see what they are making and what is being set out. I enjoyed trying new dishes and inspiring the couple next to me to order some items I tried. The shima aji to burakkuberi and kuro kanpachi were some of my favorite crudos. Their A5 waygu nigiri is out of this world. They have very affordable omakase sets to choose from if you want to do a chefs tasting. read more

The food gods blessed me with one of the very best meals of my life. period. Traveling on business, I was looking for a bite late in the evening and stumbled upon Aiko. I sat at the sushi bar with my book looking forward to a lovely meal and quickly realized I had come upon El Dorado and the gold was in the form of a beautiful array of fish tempting me behind their spotless glass walls. I am no noob when it comes to food but quickly realized I should leave the ordering up to the professionals. With every score, flame and gentle brush stroke, I watched the chefs craft their tiny masterpieces. Each beautiful morsel melting in my mouth and dancing on my tongue, prompting an involuntary happy food dance. Had the best time chopping it up with Jesse & Jesus at the sushi bar, these guys are truly talented, culinary artists and I feel so lucky to have experienced such a phenomenal & inventive meal. Light, well-balanced but completely satisfying. I barely touched by book and forgot my tiny rubber duck so I guess that means I'll be back. Going home to sharpen my Shun knives. See you in 2025 friends, bottle of sake on me! read more
I came here for a dinner date with my girlfriend and the service and food was amazing. I had the $55 omakase to test out the waters and everything that came out was fresh and had amazing flavor. I also got a couple off the menu items from the head sushi chef and he said it's just because and he is testing out different flavors. I don't know what they were but they we so tasty and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone willing to try a high end sushi restaurant. read more

I prefer their meat selection especially their karage. Their fish was hit or miss. We went here for a birthday and I would only recommend if most people like sushi / sashimi. The service was great thought and the ambiance was high end. I wish each dish had more food read more
Parking: there is self park and complimentary valet. Service: Excellent. Our server Aaron was very efficient, friendly, and checked in at the right moments. Food also came out quick and the pacing of the food was perfect (not too slow, not too fast). My jelly belly and I each got the 5-piece omakase (comes with edamame, hand roll, and mochi for dessert). Also ordered madai crudo (wanted to try the amberjack but they were out!), king crab nigiri, pork belly nigiri, and musubi cut roll. We were overly full after eating all this. 5 piece omakase was a good deal, and fish quality was great. There's other options if you want less/more nigiri pieces. Madai crudo wasn't super memorable. The hand roll was spicy tuna and had a nice kick and crunch. Pork belly nigiri was only eaten by jelly belly who said it was yummy. King crab nigiri was the best and a must if you like buttery goodness (I feel like they used Kerrygold butter but not sure). It's hard to distinguish between each of the good sushi restaurants in houston honestly, but I think aiko has the best deal for omakase and I'd return for the king crab nigiri alone. The restaurant itself is very modern. Great place for a date night or special occasion. Check out the cool walkway to the bathroom if you can. read more

Best sushi in Houston - I was debating on giving that title until I learned this is the little sister of my favorite, Kokoro! Stumbled in on a whim right at opening time on a Thursday and the restaurant was in full steam. Service was excellently attentive from hostess stand to sushi bar. I prefer to sit at the bar for connection, and I was treated so well! Every element of the sushi itself is dynamite and cared for, the space is beautiful and well thought. Thank you for a fantastic lunch, can't wait to visit again read more

High quality fish, great presentation and very good service. The highlights were the Chu toro and Japanese uni nigiri. The maguro crudo was very good as well. Much like Kokoro, the pieces are on the smaller side so it is very pricey but I think it is worth it. They were very busy on a Friday evening so the pacing of the meal was a bit slow. I really enjoyed the pickled wasabi garnish on the nigiri. The music is way too loud. I might go back one day. I went for a special event at the sushi bar (a multi-course tasting paired with Kubota Sakes). What I thought was just going to be a delicious meal turned out to be soo much more. I learned so much about sake and tried a lot of unique sushi dishes. l the dishes were so fresh and the flavors melded so well together. The staff, brand ambassadors and even the owner were so nice and friendly. I'll definitely be back. The decor so cute and there's plenty of parking! Aiko has easily become a new favorite spot in Houston. The entire staff is super attentive and welcoming. The restaurant itself has great vibes, music and all around hip atmosphere. Aaron is the best waiter! Their Omakase is reasonable, and they offer 3 different tiers depending on how hungry you are. Their cuts are fresh, and they give a great variety and there's also an al a carte menu as well to choose from. Drinks are also good, but we usually stick to Sake. Don't forget to check out the hallway to the restroom :) read more

This place is one of my favorites. Quality of the fish is always amazing. Everyone is attentive from the hosts to the waiters. If you're looking for a view/more intimate setting, sit in the front (small bar and a couple of high-tops with a downtown view). The seating in the back is great too, dark and moody but no view. read more

Can you still experience omakase dining with kids?
Yes, I brought my 2.5 yr old to happy hour and he sat there eating chicken karage while I got the omakase.
