This is my favorite new "Friday night Poke Bowl" place. You can have endless variations depending on your tastes and desires for the night. Rice or salad (or both) is your base. Then add two or three scoops of fish (blazing salmon, Tuna luau, kimchi shrimp and salmon are my favorites! Top with any topping or dressings offered. My usual is green onions, pickled beets, edamame, red onion, seaweed salad, and either citrus wasabi or house spicy. We have become friendly with the servers so they make suggestions for new dressing combos. Love this place! read more

This is the BEST poke I have had the pleasure of consuming, hands down. I love the ability to order the "half and half" to create my own sashimi salad! I've been to other establishments that serve poke and none offer the variety of fresh poke nestled on a bed of your favorite rice and an option to add a nice mixed leafy greens. You can choose from an assortment of menu sauces (or create your own blend) and finally, you can add toppings galore to round out your meal. * here's the twist, I have the entire order mixed in a large bowl before serving. The staff is always friendly and outgoing. My fave: I dub it the "kitchen sink" Large bowl with 1 scoop each of blazing salmon, tuna luau and spicy tuna. My husband and I have been going to the Scottsdale and Chandler locations since they opened, and couldn't wait for the Gilbert location. This site is right on par with the others. Delicious poké bowls with fresh ingredients! They also offer a 10% military discount, which I appreciate. I tried the tropical drink today, and it was very tasty! The beverage had a nice combination of guava and mango flavors. It was a little sweet, so I added water, and was able to get more out of my drink. I'll keep coming here for sure! read more

We lived a couple years in HI, and were hesitant to try poke this far from the sea. When the core of your dish is playing-dice-sized cubes of raw fish, you want a place and employees who know what they're doing. We finally went, then went again a few days later, and I'm wondering how soon I can go again. It's outstanding! For anyone new to poke: Think deconstructed sushi, in a laid-back, Chipotle-esque ordering and eating experience. You can try raw (also some cooked options) fish items without the sorta intimidating experience of a first time at a sushi bar. They even let you sample stuff before you commit anything to your bowl. Chopsticks available but not required. The half salad half rice option makes a fantastic meal, and is now my favorite way to go. Spicy house sauce is perfect. Getting the dried onions, sesame, and furikake at the end of the line adds a crunch to the bowl that keeps it from being mealy. read more

I am very disappointed with this Ahipoki location. I am a regular to the location in Tempe (minimum, once per week), but I was in the area and came to this location instead. My experience was less than satisfactory here. Every time I order, I get the same thing. A little bit of brown rice and mostly salad, avocado and red onion on top, 3 scoops blazing salmon, and my toppings - green onion, edamame, ginger, cucumber, sprouts, and extra pickled radish. I always explain that I will pay extra for the pickled radish. Apparently paying extra for pickled radish is not okay at this location and the employee refused to give me more than two very small scoops. When I told him again I would pay extra, he told me he couldn't do it, packed up my box, and walked away in the middle of me asking him why. The other two employees saw the whole interaction and did nothing to correct it. I will not be returning to this location. I am very sad that I have to write a negative review about an Ahipoki location, as it is one of my favorite restaurants. read more

Let me start off by saying pre-quarantine AP was my poke spot. Ask my sister and my bank account. However, since they have reopened, they ditched the pickled radishes (why????? Soooo yum) and changed their spicy mayo. Now it's full of pepper and has an overall weird taste. I love poke bowls. I really like how the flavors all come together at this particular poke restaurant. I normally get the spicy shrimp and spicy tuna with house spicy sauce. Soooo going to a lot of Poki joint in the valley, this by far isn't that great. I went to Scottsdale and the service and food was amazing. I hope this finds as constructive criticism rather then just tattle telling. When t comes to food, especially raw food....food care and presentation is very important. The worker serving and prepping was very hesitant. At some points I was telling him how to do it. When mixing Ahi, I'm sure you mix with your hands to not poke the fish and penetrate the flesh. This dude literally got a fork and started stabbing st it. I know they just opened, and therefore I'm grateful they got something out here in the valley. They Gatta work out the kinks and some of the attitude. I'm giving 3 because the food at least taste decent. I'm sure 5 stars will be in the future. Hope this helps! read more

This facility is super clean and very attractive. It was fun to build a poke bowl especially with such friendly employees. They have a delicious passion fruit drink with "soft" ice that was satisfying to crunch. Also there was a colorful ice cream macaron case that I am definitely returning for another time. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I want to return for their main item which is the poke bowl. I didn't mind the price and the portion but I did mind the salmon and the rice. It was around 11am when I went here. At this hour, I expect the freshest quality since food isn't sitting around and losing its maximum punch. Please don't hate me business owner. This is meant for constructive criticism and gain you raving repeat customers. Your rice was hard and the inner germ was not cooked and the salmon was slimy. Those are two big ingredients in a poke bowl that are supposed to wow. Do whatever it takes to have perfect rice texture that is cooked thoroughly. Any Asian will attest to good rice and it could be a deal breaker if it is consistently hard. Check the fish, is it slimy and would you eat it? I ate my entire bowl so as not to waste food but I was sad. My friend raked the rice to the corner and hid it from me under the biggest lettuce leaf so I wouldn't notice it but I did anyway. I'm coming back in one month to give it another try and I am coming in with an optimistic 5 stars for you off the bat. I hope you take this review to heart because that's what its meant to be. Being born and raised in Hawaii, it was exciting to see the Ahi Poki Gilbert, Arizona, location opening. Their Poki was the best in the east valley living in a desert. But unfortunately, over the last few years, the quality continuously declined. Regardless, my patronage continued to satisfy a quick fix. The business demand for food delivery services like GrubHub, Uber Eats, etc., grew with the pandemic. It seems to compound the issue of correctly filling orders and skimping even more on the portion size. I am a creature of habit and order the following on each visit: A large three scoop salad with two extra scoops (only tuna and octopus) and all toppings. As you can see from the attached picture, there is no edamame, masago, crab salad, seaweed salad, furikake, cucumbers, green onions, cilantro, sesame seeds, sprouts, and wasabi. In addition, the comments state extra wasabi and "no rice." Finally, the picture of tuna and octopus is not a reflection of a five-scoop portion, even with the additional charge of $5.90 for extra scoops. At least visiting the restaurant in person, they do not mess up the order directions and portion size. Unfortunately, it is the final nail in the coffin! They lost a customer and earned a poor rating on every internet site I posted the review! Your money is better spent buying the ingredients and searching for a poke recipe. It's ok. It's box poke, built your own kinda thing. Very Small amount of fish. It's very basic. I was really craving poke and had high hopes. But don't expect anything you'd find on the coast or on the islands . The kids working are very nice but not too familiar with the food. They don't even know what sushi rice is. My husband and I moved to Gilbert a few months ago and were very happy to know Ahipoki had a location close to us. We used to go to the location on Ray Rd quite often and loved the food and drinks. We decided to give a try to the location close to us but were very disappointed. The food doesn't taste the same here, maybe it's left out too long. I love the Thai tea and my husband loves the Green tea, we are very familiar with the taste but the dirinks they gave us last night were completely bad. We got the order to go since we were on a hurry. When we got home and started eating it definitely killed the mood. Food did not taste the same and the drinks literally smelled like vomit. Sadly we will have to travel to the Ray location whenever we crave Ahipoki. read more
