We arrived before noon and were surprised how packed the restaurant was. Lots of young people, every table was occupied. The atmosphere was lively and sometimes very loud. Bottomless brunch was served and the price was $45/pp. It may look a bit of pricey but it was worth it. The food was great. Overall it was a very good value ; better than most Michelin restaurants, if not better. Sparkling wine, bloody Marys and mimosas were included. We didn't have to order anything except the omelette. 10-12 dishes and warm bread were brought out. Everything was so good that each dish was cleaned up! We ordered some more. It's like buffet, you can order more food if you want, everything is included. The only complaint I have is that we inevitably ate and drank too much, much more than I normally do and I don't usually drink alcohol. First of all, Vedat is an amazing server, and Agora is a wonderful restaurant! The spread sampler is one of my favorite dishes in the city. Each one unique accompanied by what I think is the best fresh pita I have ever had. If you don't get this to share, you are doing it all wrong. The grilled octopus is perfect. My favorite dish of the night. Tender without being mushy with the right amount of smoky char. SO DELICIOUS. The beef dumplings are also very good, with a buttery tomato sauce underneath and a cool yogurt sauce on top to cool everything down. Large portion too for the price. My friend made a reservation for us to come here on Saturday. The earliest reservation we could get was 7:45. Be sure to look for a res ahead of time because it was packed! We sat inside although they did have lots of outdoor seating. We started with cocktails. We got the Thyme to Bloom. All of the cocktails were so unique and looked amazing. Skip the Agora brunch unless you're just looking to get drunk and SICK! My friends and I visited Agora (my first time) last weekend and were left unimpressed. We were promised "all-you-can-eat" but only left with champagne in our bellies. The 3 course meal was supposed to come out and we were told whatever additional we'd like to order to place it with the waiter. Alas, never once was any of our request fulfilled. We received our first course, but a measly 2nd course and a more than disappointing dessert. Numerous times our cups of champagne were filled for mimosas but never water or juice, even after the waiter was asked. More than half the party of 14 I ate with got SICK because of the lack of attention. I wouldn't recommend anyone eat here, there's plenty of bars down the street that won't cost you an arm and a leg for alcohol poisoning. read more

We came for boozy brunch as a group of 8. We were originally going to be 10 but two people couldn't make it at the last minute (I found out as I walked in the door). Good thing they couldn't come because I have no clue how 10 of us would've fit at our table. The food and drinks kept coming and the staff cleared empty plates off our table at a reasonable pace. I do wish they didn't fill us up on so much bread right at the start of the meal with the starters (they brought out a bunch of each one and then had us say which ones we wanted more of). The smoked salmon was good and I could've used more of it. The entrees were the star of the show - the fried egg over lamb hit the spot. All in all, this was an A+ experience. I have been to this restaurant both for brunch and a la carte at dinner. The quality of food and service have been consistently good throughout the years. And that says a lot. Their brunch is $42 pp that includes bottomless drinks (mimosas and bloody maries). The plates are small. So you ll be eating several of them. The food kept coming pretty fast and the staff came back to check on us frequently. There is a 2 hour limit (still plenty). Salmon Benedict is my favorite. Okay YUM!!! I had never been to Agora before and I went with some friends to grab drinks and tapas and I was so pleased. We split some dips and pita bread and I also got a cheese flatbread. I didn't get anything to drink but my friends all loved the red and white wine selections. The drink menu and regular menu were very extensive, so there's something for Everton here. Everything was flavored so well, the bread was warm and fresh, and tasted homemade, and the dips were phenomenal. I loved my cheese flatbread, it was doughy and cheesy and perfect. Oh my god what a wonderful evening! We came over to Agora with reservations to celebrate our arrival back in DC for Father's Day. We had one of the best dining experiences ever. I'm used to the DC restaurant scene with its high mortality rate and a few long standing restaurants still preserving the long standing traditions. Agora has been a mainstay in the 17th Street's Dupont area, with its beautiful diversity, people watching, and general merriment. Still, I was glad to see it still operating post-pandemic. Perhaps the best silver lining of the post pandemic timeframe has been the partial occupation of streets by restaurants and people. Along with many restaurants in 17th Street, Agora has several outside booths placed on what used to be a street lane. A wonderful happening. And it just so happens our reservation was for one of these bubbles. We loved it. Alp was our waiter and he was part of the festivities. Superbly knowledgeable, ready to assist and always with a smile along with fast service. For our group of six, we started with a Labneh appetizer, plenty of pita chips, hummus, and stuffed grape leaves. Then we entered into some of the shareable entrees, falafel, octopus, and scallops. I liked this place. It's popular, almost always crowded, and the food options, prices, and quality are all good. I had the eggplant with meat appetizer. And I do plan on ordering more soon. Things to note though: - pita bread: I wish this was made thinner, it's a tad bit too thick - the yogurt sauce on the eggplant appetizer was a bit too much. Both the thickness of the pita bread and the over pour of the yogurt sauce made the dish a bit more plain than it should have been, since I did think the meat was well seasoned, and the ingredients were top notch (it was nice to see actual pine nuts - they're not cheap you know). We arrived promptly and were seated in the upstairs dining room (which was empty) at a table for 4 people and said that we could just pull up a chair. I instead asked if we could be seated at any of the other THREE empty tables upstairs that were for 6 people. Given this is a family style restaurant, I knew that we would need space so I asked the hostess again if we could move tables. She said that those tables are "reserved" and that our party could not sit there... So, for our entire dinner we had to sit with plates in our laps because we could not fit everything on the table. And for the full 2 hours that we were there, the other bigger tables sat EMPTY. Horrible service. I will never go back. read more

A nice dinner option, plus it's right next to Astoria, so it's a top notch choice for a dinner, then cocktails sort of date. They have a very nice indoor space as well as a massive covered patio outside. During busy hours, a reservation might be needed, but if you come a little early or late, you can snag a table any day of the week. Their hummus/pita appetizer is great, it's some of the best hummus in town. After that, there are countless options to try. We especially enjoyed the keskek, a slow cooked short rib dish, and the falafel. The grilled chicken kebab is tasty, too. Everything is cooked well, you will definitely be satisfied. For beverages, the menu is a wine-lovers dream. I am not a wine-lover, but they still offer a nice assortment of unique cocktails and ouzus. This was my first time at Agora and I'd say I'm pleasantly surprised! Rarely does a restaurant live up to the hype but the bottomless brunch certainly did. Definitely make sure to bring your appetite when coming here :) They have an initial round of starters that was good but I would recommend skipping the bread for the most part to save room for the entrees. I highly suggest people try the Salmon and Lamb Eggs Benedict as both are delicious and rare to find. I would give this place a 4.5/5 but unfortunately Yelp doesn't give half stars. It's definitely a great treat however paying $50 per person is steep and drives away those budget conscious folks. If you have the $$$, try this place out! read more

The first time I went to Agora was like 5 or 6 years ago, and it was for brunch!! It was just me and two other friends, a part of my brunch marathon. That was a very different time indeed, and I recall noticing that the menu had so much bread and eggs on it. But despite that, I know that I enjoyed it very much! Fast forward to now, the menu has definitely changed quite much! So after over a year of no brunches (VERY unlike me), I discovered that this place was still having theirs, despite COVID, and it sounded like their protocols were great. So, I could either reserve for indoor dining, patio dining, or a 'private tent'. Going with the latter option was like the best idea ever, and I would love to do this infinitely going forward. All of the 'tents' are located right next to each other across the sidewalk from the actual restaurant... and as soon as I stepped in, I was shocked at how warm it was! It was still in the 30s outside, and it was overcast. But with that tall oscillating Lasko heater, I was able to take my coat off and be completely comfortable! The table had hand sanitizer plates, silverware, and water glasses already. Agora's brunch is unique in the fact that in addition to your average brunch drinks (mimosas, champagne, bloody marys), you also have access to unlimited rails -- that is, you can mix gin, rum, vodka, whiskey, etc. with a mixer like soda or juice as much as you like! Gin & Apricot became an instant favorite mine aside from the mimosas! As for the food... we started off with some amazing bread and a large variety of spreads! We had everything from regular hummus to tzatziki to goat cheese to baba ghanouj, and it was all absolutely delicious! Other highlights off of the menu included the pides, the baklava french toast, the salmon eggs benedict, and baklava with the birthday candle! They stay very loyal to their 2 hour time limit, but the staff are friendly, the food is delicious, the drinks are awesome, and those private tents are CLUTCH! I personally wouldn't recommend a party of anymore than 4 to be comfortable though. $40 is a steal for their brunch deal. Can't wait to return! read more

The food is so delicious and the price for brunch was definitely a steal. a standout was the pita they brought out for all of the dips which was warm and fluffy; we couldn't get enough. if you like Mediterranean food, you can't go wrong with Agora. Unfortunately the service was a little rough, which makes sense for a busier weekend, but I took off one star because we were seated a bit late (they added 25 more minutes to our bottomless drinks but the kitchen was closed at that point), they weren't very quick to refill our drinks & pita which is a tad disappointing for a bottomless situation, and we didn't get to try any of the flat breads. although they were really busy I do feel like it bit into our experience just a little bit. however i'm sure you can't go wrong coming here on a normal day for brunch!! read more

I came here with a group of 9 people for a friends birthday brunch. It was definitely different than your usual brunch. They bought out small plates for the entire table, and they kept it coming lol. Our wait staff was so attentive and helpful. My only issue was the small plates were mostly just cheese and bread. We did receive some meat on the side but it just didn't seem like a full nutritious meal to me. We went on a Friday night - super packed. We weren't able to get a table so we opted to sit at the bar. The ambience was very cozy and low lit- perfect for a date! And the food was amazing- everything we ordered with the exception of Branzino was outstanding. We got the cauliflower, hummus, ottoman rice, lamb chops and the branzino! The cauliflower had so much depth and flavor! The rice was to die for. The fish was about 60 seconds over plus it needed ( more) seasoning. Hummus was silky and tasty. The bartenders were attentive. This is my 4th time coming to Agora. I have to take all my friends here because this place is just amazing for brunch, until last Saturday. I had been raving about this place because their brunch deal is astonishing. $40 AYCD (not just mimosas and bloodys, liquor included!) and AYCE. What a steal! I had made reservations for 1:15 and to my surprise my party was there ON TIME. Shocking. However, we didn't get to our table until 1:30/1:45. They had us waiting for a good 15-20 minutes. Isn't the point of the reservation to be able to get your table at that time? We did get a nice table by the window, but I hate high top tables. We ordered almost every vegetarian item on the menu. Except it didn't seem like all the items we ordered made the way to our table. The menu didn't seem like the previous menus because the only vegetarian items were spreads and cheese. I was hoping for at least one or two vegetarian entrees. The Agora fries came out first and they weren't even warm! They were relatively cold. Bad first impression. However the tomato and feta cheese spread was delightful! I literally ate it from the bowl. The kasik was delicious too, but can never go wrong with it. Towards the end of brunch, we just wanted one more mimosa/drink, but the bar shut down. I was a bit disappointed considering they seated us late, but then cut us off early. I love Mediterranean style food because you get such a great sampling of cheeses, dips, and meats. The Sucucklu pide (flat bread topped with Turkish beef pesto, mozzarella, and pesto) and the sucuk (Turkish beef sausage) were my favorite. Clearly that sausage was top notch. It was so flavorful and juicy. I cleansed my palette at the end with their yogurt parfait, which was absolutely delicious. Outdoor dining in the winter is rough. But these cute private tents with a personal heater inside are the best. On colder days, it'll at least keep your feet and legs warm while you're bundled up on top. We happen upon this restaurant on our visit to Washington DC. The granddaughter thought it looked adventurous and she loves the foodie adventure so we went in. It turns out to be a tapas style restaurant, so we ordered some hummus and saganaki. the lighting of the cheese did not disappoint and the grandkids were amazed. We ordered several more plates, including kebabs, mixed mushrooms. Pita and the olive oil was amazing. But I think our favorite was the Monti. Little meat dumplings in an amazing sour cream yogurt sauce. At least I think that's what it was. We were there as strange time after a flight. Too late for lunch and too early for dinner, but before grocery shopping for our week in DC. But the folks were friendly and the waiter was great. Pricey! Ahhh all the feels for this restaurant! It's centrally located so please use public transportation. They have a covered outside area and the street seating as well. My gf and I had reservations and were quickly seated upon arrival. Let's get into it what's not to love about brunch! You get all the starting tapas and can order you main course as you're ready! Honestly, I love this place. As a pseudo-regular visitor to DC, brunch at Agora is always on my itinerary. The food is so ridiculously good and for brunch it just keeps coming. The staff is efficient and friendly (and so attractive, but I digress). If I were to nitpick, the hummus is a little pine nut heavy for my ideal, but that's like saying, "the sex was good, but there weren't the right quantity of rose petals on the bed."
