Normally when I come here it's at least an okay time, but this time they had a new bartender upstairs for the goldfish show... she was completely rude and rolled her eyes when my friend asked for a beer they didn't have. I simply told her she could just say something instead of being rude and she started yelling at me from across the bar to lose the attitude and that she wasn't going to serve me until I apologized. I'm a bartender myself and understand getting frustrated at times with customers, but only if it's warranted. Not gonna lie, I won't be coming back for a while and if I see the blonde with the nice back tattoo again I'll just be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I was tempted to give this restaurant 2-3 stars, but I felt it wouldn't be honest. The food was below average, lacking in flavor, and you could tell there wasn't much on the menu made from scratch. My spouse that has the taste buds of a three year old was even a bit disappointed. The drinks also seemed watered down or off in taste. I hope they can improve things in the future. The restaurant has a lot of potential, and there doesn't seem to be much true Mexican cuisine competition in the area." read more

Great spot! The bartender at Agave is super friendly and makes a strong, tasty drink. Highly recommend.

If you haven't yet tried Agave, you are sleeping on some authentic, delicious Mexican food. Living in San Diego, we have had our fair share of good Mexican food but nothing has come close to this fish dish. The highlight of this dish was the poblano cream sauce. Not too heavy and lightly spicy it was so good I was dipping the fresh tortillas in the sauce. The hubs had the fajitas which had a great amount of carne asada. Get the fish...best dish hands down. I'm going to be working on recreating this masterpiece at home. Oh and the service...another reason to come. read more

We're from Texas but hear me out...this was the blandest Mexican food ever - I swear the chicken wasn't even seasoned with salt/pepper. We should have known not to go when we saw the 3 star review but decided to give it a try. Only 6 people in the restaurant and we were sat at the smallest table. We went in-between lunch and dinner but no bartender was there so we could only get beer and wine. No fresh tortillas as "that's only available at dinner". We had to grab our own napkins from another table where they were prepping silverware. Apparently there is "lunch silverware" and "dinner silverware" as lunch silverware is wrapped in paper napkins and dinner is with cloth. Okay whatever. BEWARE YOU WILL GET CHARGED FOR CHIPS AND SALSA - not normal for us Texans. We had to constantly remind our waitress for plates, cups with lids, etc. She also threw 20% gratuity on our check which I get was because we had 6 people BUT 2 WERE KIDS (4 years old and a 1 year old!!!). Also for water, 4 beers, 6 plates (including a salad that did NOT include cactus as stated on the menu, couple of kids plates and a lunch plate) it cost $160!!! Just forewarning all of you. OH! And the men's bathroom only has urinals, no stalls. Just inconvenient as we had kids. Don't recommend!!! read more

My roommate and I visited Agave tonight for taco Tuesday. When we arrive we let the hostess know we'd be okay sitting at the bar if any seats opened up. A couple that walked in minutes after us later took the seats at the bar even though we had already mentioned something about wanting to sit there. It took around 30 minutes to finally be sat even though the hosted said it would only be about 15 minutes. We were served our food before our tortillas and salsa came out. It took extremely long to get our tortillas and salsa. I ordered the 3 special $2.50 tacos for the night and they were very subpar. I'm not saying they were horrible but I would've preferred Rocky Mountain Taco over it by far, but honestly I'd even rather have a Taco Bell taco than what I ate at Agave. The flavors were lacking. We were also let know that orders cannot be split on taco Tuesday (even for a table of 2) so we paid together in cash. Overall I'm constantly disappointed in the food and drink offerings at Agave and prefer every other Mexican place in the valley over it. I love the space as an event venue, but lunch or dinner isn't worth it. read more

They had a taco special on the Saturday we werw there. Al pastor tacos were $1 and fish and steak were $2. Seemed like a great deal so we had to check it out. They have a nice outdoor seating area and several prople had their dogs with them. We were seated quickly but waited a little for menus. There was one male server who was nice but a little too laid back. We ordered a few of each kind of the tacos. The fish was really good with a good amount of fish and a creamy sauce. Yum! The steak and al pastor were also good. We had the roastes squash salad which was big pieces of romanine with squash, red peppers, pumkin seeds and cheese. It was tasty but needed to be cut up to eat it. Overall, the food was good with large portions for the price. Great value for the tacos. Service could have been a little better. read more

I'm always up for good Mexican food and Agave delivered. The homemade warm tortillas served with fresh salsa was a wonderful surprise. I ordered the combo with a chili relleno and the relleno was one of the best I've ever tasted. It was battered and lightly fried (not the heavy fried flavor like Hacienda Colorado) with a tasty green chili sauce. We also had the chicken mole and it was a nice lighter side option. It was pleasant to sit outside and even though the road was right there, the flora was so dense it provided a nice shelter and a peaceful dining experience. read more

I walked in to Agave tonight and the hostess absolutely shut me down. She told me I should probably make a reservation somewhere else. Unfortunately I can't give a review on the food, but I bet it lives up to the 3 star review. We were told to be seated at the bar and then a group of two men cut in front of us and the hostess stated "now the bar is full." You thought agave was sweet, not tonight. It was bitter. I'm glad i'm giving my business to a different establishment as recommended by the hostess. read more

Eating at Agave was our first off the Ritz Carlton resort, and we couldn't have been more please with this choice, the atmosphere was amazing, and our server (didn't get his name), I'm pretty sure was the owner of the restaurant. My bestie had the Mahi fish tacos and she said they were amazing, I had the shrimp tacos and they were good not great, however I would have loved it if they had offered blackened seasoning. The service was impeccable. Lastly, the margaritas were authentic and spot on, they were also huge! The prices were great and the portions were huge!. read more

This review is for $1.50 taco Tuesday night (beef or chicken). The tacos come as is (no substitutions) and on a fried tortilla which I wasn't the biggest fan of. Service was pretty slow despite it being a pretty chill crowd of a night. Overall not a bad place for inexpensive tacos in Beaver Creek. read more

Absolute trash. Food is bland and service was incredibly slow although our server was friendly. Completely got my order wrong and in fairness, they did replace it and comped it. That is the ONLY reason I'm gone g it two stars. Steer clear. read more

We have come here each time we have spent time in Beaver Creek. While I let the last time slide, I just can't this time. The curly haired guy (owner or manager) is a complete a--. While waiting for a table a group of the same amount came in and sat them right away. His excuse " you will all eat at the same time and finish at the same time" - uh, what? Service overall stinks- never cleared one plate from the table or glass. Asked 4 times for a box.....make that 5 now. Had to flag down the waited for drink reorders, salsa reorders- did I mention we need a box. Tacos were absolutely bland for being "Taco Tuesday" and not even what we ordered. We won't be back- it's a sore eye compared to the rest of the fantastic restaurants in town. read more

Good food, but could use a few more staff. Something familiar to a lot of restaurants these days.

Service was pretty shit. They were out of queso??? How tf does that happen? Drinks were okay... Fajitas were better than I expected. Most people in my party did not like their food. Could be much better but still not terrible. The physical restaurant is great but if the service and food were better we would have loved it. Overall don't recommend. read more

Came in at 530 on tue night. Took about 15 min before anyone acknowledged the groups waiting to put their name in. Wait times and seating service can be horrible. I should have pay attention to the reviews. The food was just OK. The service was OK. The nachos was good but not great. The tacos did not taste good, almost like the sauce was missing. Chicken was very dry in my chicken mole. The sauce was not spicy at all. We couldn't taste much alcohol in the house margarita. The server was really busy. When he was clearing the table, he spilled a glass of water all over my kid. I felt sorry for the server. They really need more people to help there. When we got home we had a massive headache and were very thirsty as if the food had msg in it. We can't recommend this place to anyone and don't think we will ever go again. read more

The food was really great Elote chicken tacos were fire. The guacamole was great Portion size was on point. I'd definitely go back and recommend. The elote chicken tacos were seriously something I would get every time I go. I can't stop thinking about them. Oh and their tortillas are homemade and soft and all of the things tortillas are supposed to be, fresh as you will ever get. Yummmmm read more

I had a group of 15 when we arrived to Beaver Creek Fri night and they took care of all of us with fantastic food - the octupus and coconut shrimp are always my favorite. The service was good and the margaritas top notch. This is our go to place the first night we get here and they did not disappoint = highly recommend! read more

Went there for Taco Tuesday and loved it. We got the crispy tacos (shredded beef and chicken) and got the soft carnitas tacos. They were amazing! Guacamole was also good and service was friendly, very quick to get our food! Margs were also great. read more

Love this place. Great food. Easy to get in without a reservation. We had no wait coming in at 6:30 on a Friday with no reservation. Agave is my favorite Mexican Restaurant for LUNCH. I went for dinner last week and the cost was three times as much as I pay for the same thing for lunch AND they charge for chips and salsa. Any self respecting Mexican restaurant should provide complimentary chips and salsa. Granted they provided homemade tortillas with salsa, but I could have preferred chips and salsa with my margarita. Black mark for Agave for raising the prices so much for dinner and charging for chips. read more

I'm sorry to report the food was subpar at best. Seriously, like WTF! Frankly, everything we had was poor quality: - Chips were too salty, salsa was watery - Chili relleno were slimy and the cheese was basic - Rice & Beans were flavorless and microwaveable ones would have better - Queso dip was worse than Velveta (To be clear, Velveta is gross) - Shrimp and Mahi tacos were nothing to write home about as I only had one bite of each. I dare Agave to defend this review and know that we walked away having spent $50, and left behind an embarrassing amount of food. Again, sorry. read more

Let me start by saying our waitress on 2.25.22 was the one bright spot. The food was hardly edible. They clearly care far more about their "nightclub" than being an actual restaurant. Would not recommend read more

Food and place mediocre at best. My girls and I went to Taco Tuesday and wanted some tacos and margaritas. Taco was okay but it was cheap so it did its job BUT my problem is with the margaritas we all had some big sips and we noticed it didn't taste like alcohol, so we flagged down our server(who was great) and we told him, he told us that they are normally pretty strong and can sneak up on you so just go slow. With that we kept drinking thinking maybe if you drink some more then MAYBE we will feel it. However, we finished our drinks and we literally realize that there was no alcohol in them. We felt fine. We even waited a couple minutes. NOTHING. we decided to bring it up to our server and he went to go get his manager, his manager showed lack of professionalism and tried to reassure us here was alcohol because he himself had made it. (I also understand that there's a problem with people trying to get free drinks out of places, but we were still pretty coherent and we're weren't asking for any more drinks just to let them know and if we could pay for the virgin margaritas not a full 15) he keeps trying to say that he made them and he knows what's in there multiple times and not really listening to us and I tried to even say that I was a bartender myself. I know why he was super defensive but he just kept pushing and pushing that it was just us and being rude, but it was not. We haven't drank in a while, especially me! Overall, it was only his lack of professionalism on his part!Server was great! food was okay. Hopefully they're not cheating their guest out of alcohol to make them buy more. read more

Delicious fish dish. Friendly, attentive staff. Nice patio and indoor dining. Definitely recommend!

The food is amazing, Chris the bartender is great makes the best margaritas. They have great bands

Service is 0/10. Food at best is a 2/10! Save your money and go to an establishment that understands the service industry. When looking at the reviews it's easy to see which ones are real regarding this awful establishment. Nobody comes here and gets good service. The queso is powdered cheese and the chicken is awful. The only thing good about Agave was the bottled beer and leaving. After an hour you finally get your entire order. Then you have to wait another hour for your check. The ambiance is that of a thatched roof cantina in some hole in the wall of a third world country. The curly haired manager/busboy is terrible at mitigating tasks and acts as if his customers are a nuisance. Wouldn't recommend this place read more

ZERO TORTILLAS. We ordered them multiple times and they kept saying they were making the dough meanwhile another table received their tortillas. I would give zero stars if that was an option (to match the number of tortillas we received) read more

Very good Mexican food, if slightly commercial. Downstairs was packed due to Tuesday Taco night ($1.50 apiece) and they were only taking reservations for upstairs which was pretty empty, which was fine with us. We had a large group and everyone enjoyed their dishes--from the nacho appetizer to burritos and fajitas. Service was excellent.
