Afuri is conveniently located on Church street. Green P street parking is close by and not expensive. When you walk in to the open space it gives off a very chill vibe with exposed vents in the high ceilings. You can see right into the open kitchen where they diligently prepare your meal. They have a lot of options on the menu. I chose a mini tori karage which was fantastic. It was flavorful, not oily and I loved the egg salad that went with it. The tonkotsu charsu men was also delicious w thin noodles, super soft chicken char su/ poached chicken which was unfortunately cold (they probably made it ahead of time), delicious pork belly pork char su, and spicy miso. The ramen was piping hot and a good portion. It wasn't too big but wasn't too small. Since a ramen alone is $20-25, I'd highly recommend getting the combo for $30. The flavors are great and service is good. I would come back.

Free ramen, full heart. I read online that Afuri Ramen offers a free ramen on your birthday, so I decided to check it out -- and yes, it's true! I went with my ID, and they actually gave me a free bowl of ramen. Totally worth it! The ramen itself was excellent -- beautifully balanced broth, fresh noodles, and clean flavors that hit all the right notes. They only have one vegetarian option, but it's well-executed and satisfying. Service was on the slower side, which I suspect was due to being slightly understaffed that evening, but the team remained friendly and attentive once at the table. The space is impressive -- high ceilings, plenty of seating, an in-house bar, and mellow background music that makes it easy to linger. It's a great spot whether you're solo, on a date, or dining with friends. Overall, a great experience and a solid pick for quality ramen in a lively, comfortable setting -- with an extra bonus if you happen to be celebrating your birthday!

Ok Afuri ramen's Kara Tsuyu Tsukemen is one of my favourite bowls of ramen in the city. You can also get the spicy version too if you like though I've only tried the non-spicy. I love the refreshing citrus taste and that you can choose to enjoy it cold so perfect for the summer months. It's generally quite easy to score seats here. I love the big floor to ceiling windows and the layout of the seats where you can enjoy dine-in with a group of friends or even dine-solo if you want. The others that had their shio and this other spicy ramen in broth (forgot the exact name), didn't enjoy theirs as much as mine. So definitely recommend the tsukemen here. We also enjoyed the hamachi ceviche. I like the fried soft shell crab but my SO says it taste a little hard to be soft shell maybe just his piece. PS they also have a birthday special where you can get a bowl of ramen for free on the day of your birthday.

Lovely ramen place with ramen noodles done to perfection and made in store. Soup bases so rich and flavourful. Some interesting creations like yuzu shio Chicken meat very tender, charsiu has a touch of sweetness . The combo portion was on point. Yuzu limonade was refreshing. Combos starting at $30 including an appetizer, a noodle/ rice bowl and a drink. Happy hour from 2-5pm, Mon-Fri only. Service was great, interior design was clean, spacious and beautiful with high ceiling. Highly recommended. Just as good as their Vancouver location Free wifi Free vanilla ice cream with Google review

Afuri is a great spot to grab some hot ramen and karaage when you have evening cravings. The restaurant is open concept and you can see the chef working away near the bar. They have bar, bench, and regular tables and should be able to accommodate 40+ patrons at a time. The high ceilings and the street view is pretty nice at night and gives a nice ambient feel to the meal. Service was quick, 20 mins ish for ramen and fried chicken and the staff was attentive with our water refills. We got the following: - Yuzu Ratan (pretty strong yuzu flavor and strong broth) - Kara Tsuyu (dry noodle with dipping sauce, nice and light) - Tori Karaage (big pieces of fried chicken with LOTS of sauce) The meal was very filling and enjoyable and the price was great for the quality and quantity of food. Will be back to try their unique non-alcoholic beverage, hard shell tacos, and sushi rolls next time.

We came to Afuri to celebrate a birthday. On the day of your birthday, you get a free ramen bowl of either yuzu shio and hazelnut tan tan. Wasn't a fan of the nut options in hazelnut tan tan so we ordered the yuzu shio. The broth tasted too clean, missing the richness of bones and light on salt. On the side, we ordered hamachi tartare and spicy tori kaarage. Great options as appetizer. It was busy when we visited so service was scrambling to meet the restaurant's demands.

Casual dining atmosphere with good service. Tried the Yuzu shio which was salty with an aftertaste of tarte. For my liking, it was too sour and the yuzu overpowered the dish, though I can see how some people would enjoy this flavour profile The tonkatsu chashu men was also okay. I expected the broth to be richer with more umami, but it was quite normal tasting. The noodles were perfectly cooked with the perfect amount of chewiness for thin noodles. 3/5 stars because I expected the flavour of the broths to be more special given their price

Came for my sister's birthday and had such a lovely time. Our server was friendly and courteous, and let us choose where we'd like to sit. There's plenty of seating inside great for a solo meal or groups of 2-6. They have this great promotion where they give you a free bowl of ramen for your birthday, just show your ID! Here's what we ordered: * Tonkotsu Chashu Men $24.95 (free birthday meal) * Poke Salmon Tacos $13.95 The ramen broth was flavorful and delicious. The taco was perfectly crunchy and the salmon was so tasty and fresh. Highly recommend! The interior is lovely, with high ceiling, concrete walls, and a full service bar. 20250717

I did a review for Afuri Ramen when they opened but can't find it on Yelp. I loved it so much I went here for my birthday! I was excited to get my free ramen at Afuri Ramen for my birthday! You just show your ID. When I arrived with a friend I was warmly greeted by Tumul who gave us excellent customer service during our delicious lunch! We arrived early at 11:30am and beat the lunch rush. The ambiance was nice and spacious and I loved all the sunlight coming through the big windows. The only choice for my birthday ramen was called Yuzu Shio and everything about it was delicious but it was a chicken broth. I prefer pork broth and maybe I could have asked for it next time. YUZU SHIO shio tare, chicken broth, chi-yu, menma, greens, chashu, egg, nori, yuzu, thin noodle My friend really enjoyed his Hamachi Don which he ate so quickly! It looked colourful too. HAMACHI DON yellowtail, poke sauce, onion, scallion, hazelnut rayu, sesame, sushi ginger, kizami nori, sushi rice We also shared two appetizers which we really loved! Except the Spicy Pork Tacos were way too spicy for me. POKE SALMON TACOS crispy gyoza shell, salmon, scallion, poke sauce, sushi ginger, radish, lime aioli, micro greens, lime SPICY PORK TACOS crispy gyoza shell, toban-jan miso pork, cucumber, onion, spicy miso, lime aioli, radish, chives, sweet soy glaze, lime The good food and great customer service really made my birthday special! Big thanks to Yumul and the chefs!

Afuri is famous for the yuzu ramen and now they offer 3 courses menu for $29.95. Great deal with great taste. The spicy kaarage is huge for a side.

Been to this restaurant before. Loved the ramen and the appetizers they offer. The service was good but could be better as when my partner wanted to pay for the bill, no one was there for awhile to assist him. Place was spacious and enjoyed the vibe. But the portion is a bit smaller compared to other ramen spots for the price.

Friendly staff and a warm atmosphere is what's guaranteed when you visit this place! If you don't know which side or ramen bowl to go with, just ask what they recommend. You won't be disappointed I went in ok Monday at around 3:30pm and I'm shocked there were only a few people there. For this quality and the neighborhood I would expect this place to be packed but I guess my timing was also a bit unusual That being said, folks started to trickle in around 4:30pm. Anyways, loved the spicy Tori Karaage and Edamame. Now about the ramen, I got the yuzu ratan and boy... did the broth hit the spot! As for the pork, it wasn't as flavorful as I would've hoped but it was really good! The cheesecake as you can see from the pictures looked a bit burnt but don't let that fool! That's how a basque cheesecakes are supposed to be and it was so delicious with the yellow yuzu sauce Overall, I can't recommend this place enough

Jackson L.

Ramen is delicious and has a sour finish from the yuzu broth, though I'd advise to not get the spicy flavoured one - the spice basically drowns out the rest of the flavours.

Ambiance: Stunning from the moment you walk in. Despite the soaring ceilings and two-level layout, the space still feels intimate thanks to the dim, romantic lighting. We loved being seated beside each other rather than across from one another, an option I appreciated compared to the large half-moon booths in the centre of the room. Tables line the perimeter and upper level, while small trees with twinkling lights frame the booths, adding a whimsical, almost magical touch. A window displaying the cuts of steak was a fun and enticing detail. Appetizers & Mains: Every bite impressed. The seafood atop each piece of nigiri was incredibly fresh and buttery, literally melting in your mouth. The lobster mashed potatoes were an indulgent and unforgettable accompaniment to the perfectly tender steaks, which were thoughtfully presented tableside before cooking. Dessert: We saved room (and I'm so glad we did!) My cheesecake arrived beautifully plated with a candle and birthday message, while my boyfriend enjoyed the butter cake. Both were absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to the meal. Service: Every team member we encountered went above and beyond to make the evening feel special, but a heartfelt shout-out goes to our charming server, Vig.
