Chocolate pudding with pistachio topping
Miste A.

I love this place! The bread with hummus alone is simply great. The tea with mint....heaven. We'll wait a minute the Chocolate mouse with pistachio topping g is heaven! The environment is very nice and great for small and larger groups. The service is very good and attentive and will explain any menu items if need be.

Last Thursday I had the best meal at Afrah, my bff and I came in and we got seated like we were family. She had a Greek salad, I had lamb chops the best I ever had, grilled and seasoned just right, with rice and a salad. Then we both had gelato and I had baklava. The wait staff, the manager and every one there were super nice 10 star, excellent and will come back again next week! I would tell all my friends and family about this place , I usually take out but decided to dine in instead. Excellent restaurant in Richardson.

Buffet

For as long as I can remember, my family and I have been visiting this Mediterranean institution on Polk Street. Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.

Delicious food and amazing servers. We shared a sampler appetizer plate and combo meat dish. Not one bad bite and plenty for 3 of us with food for another meal. Lovely food

This is one of my favorite places in Richardson to feast for lunch. The lunch buffet is such a great deal and price. Brought my friend he from out of the country and he was so amazed with the flavor and the amazing fresh pita and food. The service is buffet for lunch so very much self service but worth the low price. For $20 you can eat all the delicious kebab meat and wood-fire pita to your choosing. The fruit is freshly cut and well selected and the rice pudding reminds me of Teyta's. My father who is Egyptian loves this place and so does Guy Fieri. It's for a good reason. The ambiance is comfortable luxury. You're getting a great deal and the quality of the food is where your money is going. But the interior is still spacious and luxurious. Perfect for lunch break or a nice meal with the family.

We love Afrah for their consisetency, flavor and friendly service. Akkawi egg pie, chicken tawook wrap, Red Knafeh and the sampler are our favorite things to order.

Wow! Wow! Customer service was lovely, our server Nidia was so sweet and answered all my questions. Food 10/10. I love when a Mediterranean restaurant get the flavors right. The food was seasoned well, and had great flavors on the very first bite! I will be back.

Dessert

My sister and I came to this establishment to try some authentic Mediterranean cuisine and we were NOT disappointed. The lunch buffet was phenomenal and as tasty as could be! The team was very pleasant and Chef Joseph was such a kind hearted gentleman. Frequently walking out to the food area to ensure cleanliness and also greet the customers. This was a great place to eat for my day in Texas!

Afrah is a staple halal restaurant that you take visitors when they come to Dallas, or if you are bored and want to go out once in a while. It is on the pricey side, but I get dishes seperately (rather than the family meal) and it is good enough price wise. We got different dishes to try. Lamb Kebab: it was a bit on the chewier side but I still enjoyed it. The flavor was nice, and I liked this best with the pita. Beef Kebab: this was my favorite. It's very soft, moist, tender, and flavorful. Perfect with anything Chicken Kebab: I am glad they don't overcook the chicken because this was very juicy and tender. The only thing is it tastes less flavorful compared to the other meats. Gyro: the gyro is just like normal gyro, perfect with the pita bread with the accompanied sauces. The appetizers were all nice, the only one I didn't enjoy was the cilantro salad. The service is very friendly and quick. Even on a busy Saturday night, the wait time is not that long. They do not take on the phone reservations. The ambiance of afrah is why people come back here often. If you want to smoke hookah, they have an outdoor location, but you need to be 21+. They also have desert options on the side where you can take them home.

Thank you Abdulsattar! Kind, professional, helpful and knowledgeable!

What a fantastic dinner tonight with the extraordinary server, Abdulsattar! We enjoyed the hummus, pita and crunchy falafel! The grilled chicken was delicious and huge portion! Loved the feta on the salad and enjoyed the babbaganouj. (Sp?) Pita had a hint of cinnamon! Very unique! So glad you had Perrier and non alcoholic beer! Thank you for the gelato samples! I was sad that you didn't have chocolate mousse! I hear you've been out of it for awhile. :( Amazing espresso! Just wish you had stevia! I was so impressed with all the wait staff and staff cleaning the tables, booth seats and floor! Well managed and we will be back more often! Thank you

Very mediocre not great food. Overhyped. The beef kabob and lamb chomps were overcooked. Kabsa rice and pita bread were our favorites.

I ordered the Chicken TAwook plate with fries and tabouleh. It was divine. I love that it came with garlic sauce. That's actually why I ordered it. I was impressed with how my fries remained crispy even though they didn't make any steam holes. The tabouleh was so fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. The star of my plate was of course the chicken; there was a lot of it. Large chunks that were perfectly grilled and they weren't dry. My husband ordered the Kafka Beef Plate with tabouleh and hummus. I hate that I had to remove a star but he said his hummus was "runny and watery". I was having too much fun with my food to investigate, but I'm going to take his word for it. I'm picky with hummus so I don't normally order it from random places. He'll learn someday. He also didn't like a spice that was in the Kafta. It was probably nutmeg or cumin or a combination of both. I also have learned my lesson with Mediterranean cuisine that I'm unfamiliar with. I don't like cinnamon or those pumpkin pie variety of spices in my meat so I never order anything that's beef or lamb. In their defense, I bet the meat was delicious if you like those spices. I wish they had included ketchup for my fries. I'd order from here again.

This was a fabulous adventure! We took a few hours to visit Sarahs Market and ate lunch at their S Grill. The market is very small, but every inch of its space is very special. First, we found our way to the back corner and sat at a tiny countertop with only 4 chairs. The counter faces an open top grill, and you're able to talk/ watch the chefs make the food. The menu is limited and pricey! We ordered one steak kabob ($26.00). The steak was served medium rare, very juicy, on top of a long rice (similar to rice pasta), and it was coated in a delicious seasoning completely unfamiliar to us. It came with roasted tomatoes & purple onion. You can select from several sides, we picked the hummus. It was a huge portion, enough for 2 people. The chef was so pleased to have us and was very impressed that we were there to learn. He gave us many "generous" sized samples of the sides and sauces they offered. Everything was made in-house, from scratch with fresh ingredients from their grocery store. It was a wonderful experience! The bakery aspect of this location is a small glass display case full of sweets, like macaroons, cheesecake baklava, and more. Most of them were new to us. The pastry chef gave us a few samples that had us buying a bunch to take home, lol. We strolled through the grocery store part of the market before leaving and bought a few items we already enjoyed. The difference was buying things that are made in-house, like pita bread. You can definitely see, smell, and taste the difference. A FIVE STAR review for their authenticity, hospitality, and delicious fresh food. If you're in the area you've got to try the Grilled Kabobs.
