Great experience all around!! We came on a Saturday afternoon and ordered a burrito. The person helping us was very kind. They had a great setup outside for seating. Our food came quickly and that first bite - Absolutely delicious!! Great flavors and not too spicy. We devoured the whole thing - we will definitely be back! read more

Definitely not disappointing! The burrito was so flavorful and packed with meat! The location was clean and had a nice sitting area. Different from your typical burritos but in the best way! The staff was also very kind and helpful! I will be coming back :) oh and the food is halal! read more

Afghan Burrito - Golden Steak Burrito & Steak Nachos - Mexican Near Me - Berkeley, California

I love Mexican food. I love fusion food. But Afghan/Mexican fusion food? Delicious!!! If you've never had food from here, I suggest you try it at least once. So good and everyone that works here are very nice. Wish they had more locations! read more

The customer service is good in terms of approachability. Loved the ambience, feels like a little getaway. However, the food itself is misleading. I came here expecting a savory, spicy burrito bowl with chicken; instead it was sweet. The person taking my order said if I wanted spicy and I said yes please in excitement, but the food was no where near spicy or savory. Unfortunately, due to the flavors this place is not for me. I took a few bites and had to stop eating. The food was also cold. Maybe they could add more flavor options if that aligns with them. read more

Pictures do not do this restaurant justice. The flavors are incredible! We got a burrito and nachos and devoured it. I especially love the sauces they provided on the side. There is amble outdoor seating too. 10/10 for food and we'll definitely be coming back. read more

As others have no doubt already said, I would drink that golden sauce from a mug. And yea, also pour it over any food. A nacho sauce, you betcha. Gravy for your thanksgiving turkey, yes please! read more

Great service. Shockingly easeful parking. Super flavorful awesome food. Get it spicy!

We received a recommendation from our salesperson, Carl, at Rad Cycling, and we were not disappointed! This was incredible food and truly service with a smile. I had the steak burrito bowl and my wife had the chicken burrito. Both were over the top delicious. The outside patio seating is also a bit surprising and lovely. This is a definite place to visit/truly worth s day trip to Berkeley. We will be back again, and again!!!! read more

Original take on burritos. This is very much a place for takeout or outside dining, but the latter is quite cute. Their burritos are absolutely stuffed with goodness. I enjoyed the veggie option and their meats also looked good for you carnivores out there. Will definitely be coming back once in a while when I need a burrito fix. read more

Let's get straight to business... how was the food? 10/10. I got the Golden Burrito with steak. It was amazing! I let the staff know it was our first time trying it and they went into detail of how to enjoy it best with the different sauces they have available. It's also in a good safe part of town and provides clean indoor seating. Definitely coming here more often to try different items on the menu. read more

Great new fusion place with friendly service! We ordered the Golden Chicken Burrito and the flavors were amazing. The co-owner asked us if it was our first time and we said yes so he explained to us the sauces they had. One was a sweet chili and the other was their housemade sauce. Both were really good and I didn't expect the sweet chili to work as well with the burrito as it did. The marinated chicken was super flavorful and well balanced with all the other ingredients. It also came with a bag of chips. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough chicken in our burrito. But they even cut the burrito in half because we only ordered one and they figured we were sharing, which was very thoughtful of them. The little touches to the experience made it even better! Overall, I'd highly recommend as they finishing building out their menu and venue! read more

Delicious! I didn't know what to expect since it's like a Mexican restaurant but the meat is cooked with afghan spices as well as the sauces they use. I got the nachos and they were so good. I really like that they ask you how spicy you want it. The portions are super generous I got the medium size and couldn't even finish it all. They also get extra points for having so many different flavors of Jarritos. I can't wait to go back. I will say the parking is not great in the area, even though we got lucky since we went late at night. This is a great place to go if you're looking for a late night eat since they close later at 1am on the weekends. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect, so I was greatly surprised! My gf & I had a veggie burrito and chicken quesadilla. The chicken curry on the quesadilla was a flavor party In my mouth, f'real You get a lot of food for your buck and the service was especially friendly & helpful. They have Vegan options as well! Go check it out, I know WE will be back read more

Give them an award. This place is so good, it will make you understand why America stayed in Afghanistan for so long. Ordered the Steak Quesadilla and Nachos. All I can say is mashaAllah. Unforgettable. Only thing I'd say is this: if you're going to be eating after 7pm, make sure to wear a nice jacket. I forget how cold it can be in the East Bay. read more

Wanna try a burrito that has tangy and spicy flavors ? Wow, the flavors burst in your mouth ! Tried the chicken burrito and tortilla chips with sauce and was surprised at what I was tasting. The sauces are incredible and add a lot of flavor. Ordering is like a typical outdoor walk up spot and there is plenty of seating outside and minimal seating inside. They are very interested in customer feedback so feel free to express yourself !! read more

Possibly the best burrito I've ever had (and I love Mexican food as well as any fusion takes). The steak burrito coupled with the pink sauce is utterly phenomenal! Steak quesadilla was equally tasty and cheesy. Will definitely be back for more and recommending to everyone! read more

Went today with a large group of friends. The owners were very generous with their portions and the food was very tasty. The spicy sauce has a good kick that adds a nice flavor. read more

The chicken burrito is absolutely amazing! It's huge, filled with meat that's juicy and flavorful, and is filled with all of the other items you normally find in a burrito. Not sure how they marinate the chicken but it's more moist and alive with flavor than the chicken one gets in a more conventional burrito. The closest I can compare it to is a chicken tikka masala. The outside of the burrito is slightly grilled. I think it's the best burrito I ever had. My friend, who has very discerning tastes, got the chicken rice bowl and also loved his order. I have to admit the name "Afghan Burrito" made me doubt the place as I don't normally associate burritos with Afghan food. But I'm glad my curiosity won over my doubts and I tried the place. I'm eager to check out their other dishes. read more

Food was very good, portions are big. I love the area very nice would definitely come back.

Delicious food and excellent service! I had the steak burrito and they did not skimp on the meat. You could tell the pico and lettuce were fresh and overall good quality ingredients. The horchata was also tasty, just the right sweetness and it didn't taste like it came from the artificial fake packets. read more

Super good food and excellent service. There is a nice outdoor eating area too. Good halal food.

Afghan Burrito is amazing. The flavors in the food are just amazing. The portion is amazing also. Good burrito that doesn't make you feel unhealthy. The service has always been amazing. They treat you with respect. Yesterday I was going to be a little late like 10:10pm and they close at 10pm I called and explained I would be a little late and they said no problem take your time and get here safely. When I arrived my food was ready and they happily handed it over. Honestly they have a nice outdoor seating situation. Weekend nights would be nice there. Honestly give them your business. read more

Afghan Burrito - Chicken Burrito Bowl - Mexican Near Me - Berkeley, California

Not a fan. It is Chipotle food drenched in curry sauce. I suppose if you poured soy sauce on a Chipotle burrito you could call it "fusion" as well. Remove the sauce and it may be a decent burrito but the sauce eliminates any flavor of the other ingredients. read more

Really tasty and good portions. Happy to see that you can still find gems like this in Berkeley

Just found a regular spot to enjoy a delicious meal with the family in a quaint, spacious, and really well designed outdoor dining area. Had the chicken burrito with guac (which wasn't necessary since it already had so many delicious ingredients). Can't wait to go back and try the bowl. I need to eat the chicken in it's purest form. I've driven by this place countless times and never thought to check it out (but was always curious about the green fence and outdoor seating). Luckily my wife was craving burritos as we were driving by and I was like "hey let's check it out!" Maaaaaan...the mix of flavors and drenching it more with their signature SAUCE!?!? I would have taken a picture but I ate it too fast. What I really appreciated besides the excellent food was that they made sure to explain the sauces to me before I left (for takeout). You get a sense they really want you to enjoy the food and come back for more...which I definitely will be doing (and recommending to others). read more
