My daughter got a flat this evening and unfortunately small cars no longer come with spares - so we called roadside assistance and they assured us affordable towing would be there in 50-70 minutes. Sent car back because it wouldn't stay started leotard shutting off in traffic and on the highway plus over heating. Put over $1,500 into the car and it just kept ex getting worse n worse overtime. My vehicle was wrecked in Springfield, MO on 8/21/23. Affordable Towing showed up to haul my vehicle into their storage yard until the insurance could pick it up. I handed my key fob to the tow truck driver and left. The driver managed to damage the front grill of my month old 2023 Chevy Trailblazer, lost my key and now are doing everything they can to avoid any responsibility. DO NOT USE THEM!!! I was in a car accident with my son and we required a tow. I wasn't sure who to call and I said Affordable because we had used them one time before with no issues. Apparently, if the police dispatch a call for the tow Affordable charges you a fee but fails to tell you that. I wish that was this extent of our issues. When our car was being pulled onto the flatbet we heard a loud snap and they got back under the vehicle and hooked it back up. At the time we didn't think there was an issue we trusted they knew what they were doing and if there was an issue it would have been addressed. We were undecided on a body shop to have our car towed to so we requested it be taken to our house, exactly 5.9 miles away. We were charged $167. For 5.9 miles. We weren't told about the additional fee for the police dispatching them out until our vehicle was on our property. To add insult to injury when our car was picked up by another tow company they refused to touch it because Affordable had busted my exhaust hanger...the snap we heard. I attempted to contact affordable about the situation and they make it very clear and give you the run around regarding availability of people who can handle the situation. I emailed pictures of the damage and was told I would hear back from the manager. Christie emailed me blaming the accident and the age of my vehicle as the reason for the damage. All of the damage to my vehicle from the accident was isolated to the front passenger fender the damage they caused was on the back end where they hook up the chains to tow my vehicle. She had no clue what she was talking about she stated my vehicle was a 1999 Chevy S-10 and I drive a 2017 Ford Escape. Not even remotely close. Christie was EXTREMELY unprofessional to say the least. I asked to speak with Dennis and she tried to avoid that as well. She would not let me speak and when I addressed that she had a problem letting me talk she yelled at me and hung up on me. I've since been informed by numerous reputable resources that unfortunately they're not surprised with my experience with them and actually surprised it's not worse. I was told the information will be passed along to the owner. We (me, my wife, and 2 kids) were on our way back from dinner when the car died out of nowhere. Not exactly what we were hoping for a nice family night out. We called our insurance company and they said the soonest they'd be out was an hour from now. Flash forward to 25 minutes later and Michael showed up. He was awesome. My 4 year old talked his ear off and was out of his mind excited that he'd get to ride in a tow truck. Michael was awesome and totally made my kid's day. Another point of awesomeness on his part was that I was convinced he'd have to put it in the street or the driveway because we're on a hill but he backed that thing into our garage like a boss! Needed a tow within the city limits of Springfield less than 2 1/2 miles. Used my roadside assistance app to schedule and pay for their services and received an ETA time of 60-90 minutes before someone could arrive. Not only did it take 3 hours to get a driver but instead of being dispatched from the Springfield area it would seem they were from the Bolivar location. When I asked where their other drivers where, I was told he was the only one and I could basically take it or leave it. When I expressed my displeasure at having to wait for such a long time I was told that my provider probably gave me the wrong time. When I showed him that we can track their services via an APP, he got on the defensive citing how long his day was and I need to cut him some slack. I work long hours just as much as the next person so when I told him I would be calling his dispatcher he said he would refuse to tow me. Even though I had already prepaid for their services. I then continued to call their 24 hour line only to have it send me straight to voicemail. I then hear the driver get thru on his phone citing that he was not going to tow my car and then talk as though I was not standing right there next to him. I then told him to tell the dispatcher to answer the phone when I call or I would keep calling until they answered. It took another 25 minutes before she finally answered the phone. When I asked for the owners name and number she refused to give it and told me that they were going to cancel my service call but no mention of refunding my payment. Not only would I not recommend this company in the future but I have asked my roadside assistance company to not use them for the sake of not only my services but the sake of others in this town. Called affordable towing when my truck stalled and would start while driving on I-44 out of Marshfield Missouri. Going 70 miles an hr to nothing in 2 minutes going up hill in the passing lane. Got pulled over to the end of an on ramp and guard rails. No place to go. Called affordable towing at 8:18 Friday morning and was told 30-45 minutes. An hr and a half later one of their trucks show up with a car on the back. The driver wanted to drop that car off on the shoulder and grab mine. What is that? Highway patrol said no way. We ended up calling Marshfield towing and they got there in 10 minutes. I waited an hr and 45 minutes along side of an extremely dangerous location which I expressed to the towing company. 1/14/2022 My wife called Affordable Towing to change a flat tire, the young man showed up and did not have the right lug wrench for the job. He could not get one of the lug nuts off my wife noticed that the tire was spinning. She suggested he should lower the jack a bit to put some pressure on the tire. He still could not get it off wrecking the lug nut cover. She then called Abel roadside they came got it off and no charge. Affordable charged $60 for a job that they were not capable of doing. I'm not saying they shouldnt charge something but $60 . We called the office several times and got the run around ie: I'll check with the manager then I'll check with our accountant and finally the ol checks in the mail, no kidding. So my car broke down a little out of town so they initially said it would take one hour which was understandable because it was out of town. About a hour and a half went by and I called and asked for a update. I was told they were 20 minutes away. Another 45 minutes went by and nothing. I called again and was explained the situation and the guy on the phone was pretty rude and told me I would be transferred to the driver. The driver said he was still 25 minutes away. I was frustrated at this point. The driver did show up when he said he would. I overall had a very bad experience with this company. Never use these crooks. The manager Will is a smartass pig who talks down to women. The owner, Dennis, was gone for the day. I felt like I was overcharged, but was prepared to pay the bill anyway (which I did). But Will's behavior was obnoxious, condensending, confrontational ( he was trying to push my buttons, and very unprofessional. I did notice when a man came in the office his attitude was totally different. Will lectured me , told me I just needed to pay my bills, yet I was there to pay the bill for my niece. he doesn't know shit about me. The mobile home park she lives in got a new manager and with just a 2 hour notice had her car towed because it wasn't running the tow truck picked it up at 2 I was on the phone with affordable by 330. I was told to have the car released it would be 150. 50 of that was for impound. Then to have her car towed to my house another 60. 210 total. I asked if they could wave the impound charge considering the time. Will said he was there to make money for affordable and I could talk to Dennis but he wouldn't be around. Then he said at midnight he would add another 50. I told him I would be there to take care of it right away. Paying the charges is one thing but talking down to me and being rude was uncalled for. I will talk to Dennis on Monday. More about his obnoxious employee than the cost. And if you are wondering, yes, i did finally lose my temper, when I was there to pay and he made the comment I need to pay my bills. Who the hell does he think he is? I didn't argue with him just asked to wave the impound charge. Anyway I said You sir are a DICK. He told me to leave, said calling police, I told him I was there to "pay my bills" and we needed to take care of that. This company will STEAL your car. My son had an accident and someone told him Affordable was a good company. The tow truck driver told him it would be $150 for the tow and $25 a day storage. He went there on day 2 and was told it cost $300 for the tow, a $90 cleanup fee, $50 a day storage and a $35 gate fee to get to the car.. He went there thinking it would cost $200 but it was actually $525. He had only $300 and was unable to get it. It was Friday so they told him it would cost another $150 to pick it up on Monday. He paid the $35 gate fee that day to get in to get his possessions out of the car. Now they are threatening him and are putting a lean against the title. It might be theirs now but they can figure out how to get the title. They prey on people and it should be a crime. read more

I had to have roadside assistance for a popped tire. I was not impressed with them at all. The lady who called me was absolutely rude and kept telling me that I had to pay out of pocked a fee for them to use their ramps to get my car on their truck and then a $15 rerouting fee due to the fact that the insurance company gave them the wrong address. To avoid all of these fees the first truck that came got there in a timely manner but had absolutely no tools to change my tire into a spare so they had to send another truck out. The lady who called me got pissy with my mom and said it was a new order so it would be an additional 45 min to an hour before they got there. I went into my school to take my test and when I came out I was told by my mother that she got yelled at by the second driver who sat in the wrong parking lot for half an hour instead of calling the office or the last driver to see where we were. I would NOT recommend this towing service to anyone of my friends or family. Trying to charge for something that my insurance already covers and then fees due to the fact that they got wrong information. Very disappointing. The ONLY good thing about this service is that the first truck got there in a timely manner and faster than what my estimation was. read more

Do not recommend! We used them to tow van back to their yard after an accident. When we went to retrieved our items left in van, because it was going to be totaled, found that a tool kit, a roadside emergency kit and 2 cell phone cables was stolen! When we called to report this receptionist said she would have owner call us. after waiting 4 days and never calling us back, we called back to have receptionist being very rude like other person commenting on, and then hanging up on my wife! When we called back again and talked to office manager she told us that he only calls back whoever he wants but she would give him message again. I was very unimpressed with my experience with Affordable Towing. On Friday my totaled vehicle with no plates was towed from my apartment complex's parking lot. My fault! Thats not what this review is about. I called Affordable Towing and spoke to a man who was pleasant and told me that they normally dont release on Saturdays but that he would make sure someone was there in the morning so I could take care of it and that I would only owe $150 if I picked it up before noon. He told me to show up between 9 and 11. I showed up at 9 to the address on google for the company. This is not their office! They have not updated this to make it correct. I called because the place was deserted and the man who answered was very rude and kept insisting I should have called to make an appointment ahead of time. I tried to tell him over and over that that is why I called the day before. He just kept interupting me and saying the same thing. Eventually he told me that maybe, POSSIBLY the person who was supposed to show up at 9:30 whould show up. But he had no clue whether or not this person would actually be at their scheduled shift at their place of work, which seemed very odd to me. He said that if they didn't show then I shouldnt worry because if I picked the vehicle up before noon on Monday then I wouldnt be charged anything extra. We waited until almost 10 am and nobody showed up so we left. I called again Monday morning to check in and tell them I was coming in that morning. The woman on the phone, Branda I believe, told me that it would now be $300. I was upset and questioned her about this. She put me on hold multiple times to ask a supervisor about the situation. Eventually she told me that she would have to have her supervisor call me back. I asked when and she had absolutely no clue. It makes me think they were trying to keep the vehicle longer to get more money instead of solving my issue then. I started to tell her i would be at work all day and she said "I'm hanging up the phone now and calling my supervisor". I had to stop her before she hung up on me to ask more questions. Finally we agreed that if I signed the title over to the company then I wouldnt owe anything. I was very happy with them agreeing to these terms. I went into the office and they told me only one man named Will at the company that day could help me sign over the title. I ended up having to wait for an hour for him to finally get to me. First he was dealing with a police officer. This was understandable. Then he spent probably 5 or 10 minutes just talking on the phone, first about an actual company issue but then about personal things. This company issue included yet anotger employee being u aware of their policies and putting a customer in a pretty bad situation. After that he started helping a person who showed up about 10 minutes AFTER I had. They seemed to know everyone in the office personally so I guess they were friends which is why they got helped first. Finally he helped me sign over the title and get my belongings, which only took about 15 minutes. I did not have to be at that office for nearly an hour and a half to take care of this. While I was there they also made fun of another customer after she left because she was upset. Overall this company is either very VERY disorganized and unprofessional or they intentionally confuse their customers in order to make more money. I would urge the owners to have a meeting with their employees in which they clarify simple details like their release hours and whether or not they charge for holding over weekend. I would urge them to update their online information. Lastly I would suggest they cross train more employees because most of the customers in the office this particular morning had issues that only one employee could solve. Not even the supervisor present could help me simply sign my title over. 2 stars because they ended up working with me but the experience was very frustrating and the entire company appeared to be extremely disorganized, underinformed about their own policies, and unprofessional. read more

Set up thru ins company. Affordable towing was called. After receiving their number I called to make sure my policy would cover any additional charge. There was an additional charge of about forty dollars so Not having te forty dollars I had to cancel. LESS THAN TWO MINUTES LATER. I found the forty dollars and called them back. The dispatcher seemed to be very putout by this but said ok Ill reinstate it. After two hours and three phone calls to my insurance carrier again they said they had it straightened out. I called affordable towing again to confirm. The route dispatcher once more said it is still canceled. Called insurance carrier again, They called affordable towing and was told someone could probably be here in about 90 minutes. Well by then the place that was going will be close so I have to wait another day. I understand I started this by canceling but calling back two minutes later and then being told it will be fine I thoughtIt was no big deal.Apparently it was a big deal to the rude dispatcher as if I had insulted her. I will never use affordable towing again and will go out of my way to let everyone I know know what poor service they offer. It's the worst experience with the towing company I have ever experienced. Apparently customer service means absolutely nothing to them. I called back to speak with a manager or the owner. Was put on endless hold and then disconnected. Yesterday my moms car battery died and our insurance company usaa sent affordable towing out to us. I forget the drivers name but he was a large black man. And he was absolutely wonderful! My mom is 78 yrs old and had never been towed. He cleared out the seats in the truck, helped her get up in to the truck, showed us where the heater controls and window controls were, made us so comfortable. He went above and beyond to make sure he treated my moms car with the utmost care. He was there in just about 30 mins too! I wish I had gotten his name. He made my moms tow a very pleasurable experience. He talked and talked with us. We just had the best time ever which made this situation a great experience instead of a stressful one. Horrible. Unreliable. Unprofessional. Rude. Poor customer service. Waited in an unsafe location for nearly 2 hours only to have them not show. They were aware we were in a dangerous spot they were also aware we had a 9 year old getting out of school and no one to pick him up from the bus. I get that other people need help too but certain things should take priority being that we were nearly hit a good 50 times (not even exaggerating it was probably more than that because of the location we were in and how many cars were on this road.) we were on a busy road stuck in the middle of the turning lane on a curve with people flying around that curve partially in the turning lane at 50 mph. We did not get to our son in time which caused a whole other set of problems and worries just to have this company not show. We called in another company after affordable towing was 2 hours late the other company got to us in 20 min from time of call to loading our truck. Never again will I give affordable towing my business. When I called affordable towing to check in where the driver was since they were 2 hours past their ETA a girl answered and hung up on me when I told her we were not safe and really needed their help. I was not rude but I was scared no need to hang up on me. So upon calling back a guy answered and I again told them we were in danger and really needed out of this spot that they were 2 hours late and an accident was going to happen if we don't get moved. The guy then snapped at me and said you know you are not special and you are not the only person in this world who needs help right? We will get to you when we get there. Again I was not rude when calling in I was crying because at this point I was terrified we had cars slamming on their brakes to avoid hitting us head on at 50mph other drivers would swerve into the second lane not looking if there were cars to avoid hitting us. My 9 year old was stranded because we could not get to him.. I was not implying that we were more important or special than anyone else only that they were late by a long time and ultimately never showed. Prioritizing tows by level of danger to others should be a given. If you read all this thank you for taking the time to hear out what we went through I was so upset with how all this happened I felt it was necessary to tell the whole story. Do not use this company if u have a nice car I could not believe the experience I recieved from this company. The guy who came to tow me kept telling me my car was to nice and because I had 24 inch rims he couldn't tow my car and if he did he would have to charge me more which money was never a issue. He then got on the phone with his boss asking if he wanted pictures of my car and how my rims cost more he got paid after 15 minutes of his ranting and raving about my car he tells me he can't tow it and left me and my son there with no solution at all not even a referral to a more professional company that could help me. But if you read what type of service they offer heavy duty and even rv towing my car was dodge magnum. Really I guess this service would only be if u have a piece of a crap car...
