My wife and I attended a Premier Pool Open House at their offices with the intent to just "to…read morelook". We met Jeremy and he gave us an idea of what to they do, what to expect, and some light design options from the showroom. He offered to visit our house to make measurements so that he could create some design mockups of possibilities. Within a week or two, Jeremy sent us a "first look". We asked for a few edits here and there given we had no ideas where we wanted to go with it as we completely leveled our existing yard and kept nothing. We were amazed by the first drafts given that we didn't think a pool would fit in our yard comfortably. Jeremy was extremely patient with the design iterations as we played around with ideas. The designs sold us and we were all in! Initially we thought it would take 6-8 weeks for permits to be pulled after we gave the green light to proceed. They ended up being approved in less than a week and we broke ground about week later. Premier was extremely fast with their team of contractors and subcontractors from demolition to full completion. From breaking ground to filling with water was less than a three-month turnaround. With several of those weeks the result of Christmas to New Year's vacation and time it takes for various components like decking or pool interior to cure. Premier was great with communication in terms of letting us know each morning who was coming on any given day. Usually we heard from Jeremy and our construction manager Teo a day or two earlier than Premier's automated emails on next steps. While Jeremy and Teo were clear, it was nice to receive the emails to make sure we heard everything correctly. Pros: Showroom has too many option to choose from! LOL! From textures to colors, there was almost too many. They even recommended visiting tile shops if we wanted to explore other colors. Jeremy was extremely polite and patient. He was readily available by both text and email for any questions we had. Teo was also great at stopping by to check on progress and see if we had any questions. He was also readily available by text message. We had them install a specialty BaduJet Turbo Pro. We pointed them to the website and they took care of all specs to fabricate the pool around it, all additional electrical work, and all additional plumbing. Recommendations for Premier: It would be great if some of the subcontractors were brought "in house" to provide full wraparound services. We opted to install tempered glass so that the pool could be enlarged and moved closer to the house. But we had to coordinate that on our own with a window contractor. We will use their subcontractor to install rock facades on our house. It would be great if they could have done in under the Premier contract at the same time they were doing the pool facades. I get it, they do pools, not houses. Premier took care of all the electrical, water, and gas hook ups that were related to the pool. We had to work with a couple of the subcontractors on the side to add additional sprinkler lines and move some electrical wiring on the side. Those also would have been great if it was done under the Premier contract as well. Premier's contractors and subcontractors obviously knew what they were doing so they pool just kind of came together. It would be great if Premier had a larger portfolio album of actual photos of pools so that we knew in advance what we were getting. We "trusted the process" and it all came together, but I could see some clients desiring to know more in advance. We subcontracted out the construction of a custom kitchen island because Premier doesn't build them (again, because they build pools), providing subcontractors provides another opportunity for Premier to be full service.

We had an extremely challenging situation in the hills in Vacaville. We were taking out an existing pool from the 1980s and transforming the backyard into an adult oasis. The elevation changes between the house and the retaining wall presented unique challenges. From the first day that Joel met with us, we could see that he was intrigued about the job. He did an exceptional job designing the pool, listening to our inputs and dreams, and modifying plans until we had a design that fit everything we wanted. Working with Wells Pools was a pleasant experience from the first day until the pool was turned over to us. Each team from excavation led by Miguel, to plumbing and electrical led by Steffen, to Tommy the tile savant, Mike the Project Manager and Joel, the designer, as well as the Decking Team, Gunite and pebble crew were highly skilled professionals, easy to work with and clearly took pride in their work. They kept the construction site as clean as possible, don't get me wrong, when you tear out and build a pool, your yard is going to look like a war zone for several months. But each team did mini cleanups each day, and there were a couple days that a cleanup crew just came in and did a major overhaul of things like picking up wood, pvc and extra concrete laying around. I never saw anything like discarded water bottles or cigarette butts anywhere. We gained much needed usable patio space, where one there were steps everywhere, garden planters to soften the concrete near the house, a hot tub that we use all the time and the most incredible view of water to hills. Now we not only have the best view in our neighborhood, we also have the best pool.

I have hesitated for several days in giving a poor review to California Backyard's Gold River…read morestore. I am a longtime customer (well over a decade) of both the Gold River and Roseville locations - and generally have been very pleased with both the products I have purchased and the customer service experience I have had. Unfortunately, for the past six months, my experience has been nothing short of abysmal. In March, I ordered replacement outdoor cushions for furniture I originally purchased from CB in 2017. I was told the order would take 4-5 weeks for delivery, which would have meant I would have my new cushions by early May - in plenty of time for the summer season. However throughout the entire month of May and all of June, I was repeatedly told that the order had been "pushed" - meaning the delivery was delayed. I only received updates when I either called, texted or physically went into the store to inquire on the status. In late May, I was informed the delay was caused by the vendor (North Cape) because they had relocated their manufacturing facility from the midwest to Atlanta. More weeks went by with no additional information until I finally took it upon myself in mid-June to Google and discovered that this relocation had actually occurred in February as a result of a corporate acquisition. This acquisition led to significant issues with the ability of this vendor being able to manufacture and deliver products in a timely manner. After feeling extremely frustrated that CB either didn't know or didn't share with me what was really going with their vendor, I pivoted on June 30 by canceling this first order and choosing a different set of cushions from a different vendor (a vendor I was told was far more reliable- and by the way - more expensive). I placed this second order on June 30 - and was told it would take 5-6 weeks for delivery. While I was very disappointed I was going to miss a good part of the summer, I figured getting a new set of cushions by mid-August was still acceptable. Unfortunately it is now Sept. 4 and I still do not have the cushions. I only learned four days ago (8/31) that CB failed to submit the specific sizing requirements for one of the cushions to the vendor until July 12, two weeks after I had placed the order. This error led to more delays. Most frustrating is that this information was withheld from me despite my making multiple inquiries throughout August as to the status of my order. I have now lost an entire six months of the outdoor season due to circumstances entirely out of my control. I do not want to assign blame to any single person at CB. Instead, I believe this situation is likely the result of a systematic customer service failure within this company. There has been both a complete lack of proactive, regular communication to me (as the costumer), and a failure to proactively take whatever steps necessary internally to resolve this problem and get the product to the customer as soon as possible. I directly requested several times that CB explore an expedited shipment of the cushions - but these requests were either never fully pursued or an explanation of why this wasn't possible was never provided to me. I hope that CB will take my comments as constructive feedback and evaluate what improvements they can make so that this situation does not occur to other customers in the future. I also want to acknowledge that CB - to their credit- has offered me a substantial discount on the final purchase of these cushions. While I do appreciate this gesture, I would have much preferred to have received my cushions in the delivery timeframe that was promised.

Not once. Not quickly. Not without me repeating the same information like I'm reading lines in a hostage video. Now onto the disaster that pushed me over the edge. We had a pool leak. Pool Time recommended Leak detection, they came out, pointed to a spot I already knew wasn't the issue, but whatever--Pool Time took their sweet time (about two weeks) to show up. When they finally did, they dug a 4x4 crater in my yard next to the pool like they were searching for buried treasure. As you can tell from the pictures, they also used an old table I had in a trash pile along with my ladder to cover the freaking hole. Knowing damn good and well that I have a dog. Shockingly, there was no leak there. Leak detection returned, admitted their mistake, sent corrected paperwork... and Pool Time? Radio silence. Absolute crickets. No call. No scheduling. No urgency. No accountability. Just a giant hole sitting there like modern art. I've called multiple times. Left messages. Followed up. And every single time, they STILL can't find my address or contract. It's like dealing with customer service powered by a Magic 8 Ball. Meanwhile, my pool is turning green--because someone, for reasons unknown to humanity, turned off the pumps during the hottest week of the year. So now I have a swamp, a crater, and a company that apparently doesn't believe in returning calls. Their customer service isn't just bad--it's nonexistent. It's a void. A black hole where competence goes to die. If you value your sanity, your time, your money, or the color blue in your pool, stay far, far away.
